Looks like the brownish sludge on the side of a Cleveland road after a snowplow.. a 1.5" 'stadium mustard' head(to boot)..poured in the cellar at the brewery for mantrip. Consensus among the guys as our fave current seasonal of the bunch(also had ipl, milkstout, american ale, erie monster, Wright pils.. as well their mainstays).
Looks ominous. Smell of banana, lemon, and sourdough bread.
Taste is lots of banana too with a bang of sour yeast esters... . Balanced though. A slight sweetness n the finish too. Mint alcohol late. Belies its 8% though.. For sure. Tastes like A 6.5-7% brew. Extremely pleased.
Airy. Frothy. Heat, but not 'boozy'.. At least for 8.0. Tred lightly, but it will be difficult.
This is a great beer from a great brewery.

On-tap @ Circle Bowl in Ledgewood, NJ.
Deep amber in color and slightly hazy with a very small head. Poor head retention with low carbonation. Wheat and toasted malt combined with plenty of banana and clove in the aroma. Rich malt flavor with a touch of dark fruit and alcohol. Smooth finish with medium-full body. Could really be improved by increasing the carbonation. An average weizenbock, overall.

Dark brown, thin tan cap. Lots of bready, Bavarian pretzel flavors with undernotes of some alcohol / phenol flavors which seemed thin & underdeveloped.
