A: The beer is crystal clear light amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that hardly died down.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of floral hops in the nose along with notes of caramel malts and hints of citrus.
T: The taste has flavors of pale and caramel malts along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a very good representation of the style that is easy to drink and has lots of hops.

It is pleasant to have more Great Lakes available now that they've finally made it to the Raleigh area. Appearance is what you expect from the style: Clear copper body and thin white head. Nose is crisp but not terribly full with only mild malt and the faintest hint of spicy hops.

The taste throws me for a loop when it is aggressively hopped with west coast strains and features the lemon and pine more broadly than many beers labeled as IPAs. Some respectable malt balance, with round biscuit and yeast flavors. Oily in texture but pretty tight overall. For a session pale, this is about as flavorful and hop dense as you can reasonably ask for.

Bought a Great Lakes "Taster's" 12-pack. 3/4. Bottle into a pint glass.

A - Bright glowing orange. Fast carbonation rushing to the top, like a "burning river." foamy yellow-white head, 1-inch. lots of bubbles.

S - Strong citrus and pine. Very pleasantly floral.

T - Orange-citrus. Strong bitter hop presence, floral hop after taste. Zesty grapefruit note, grows stronger with each sip.

M - Sticky, Medium-bodied.

O - Nice balance of bitter and floral hops. I found the grapefruit pleasant, but I have a feeling that it might ruin it for some. I would drink again.
