Amber colored beer with a slowly fading head. Taste is sweet cornbread, light hops and perhaps a light touch of honey. Overall very drinkable and delicious.

12 oz bottle from Virginia.
Pours with a clear dark amber body topped by durable head.
Hop forward and moderately bitter flavor.
Overall: hoppy for style?

Pours a hazy gold from a twelve ounce bottle into a fifteen ounce glass mug the same temperature as the beer. Two finger white head that dissipates quickly to a steady rime.

Nose is solid malt followed by fine hops with a nice bite. Lots of bready goodness. Biscuit. Tastes like a lager should. Touch of honey sweetness. Lots of good grains. Nobel hops. Caramel malts.

Full bodied with a crisp refreshing dry finish. Not bitter at all. Perfect carbonation for that third swallow burn.

Great lager. One of the finest. A close race between this Great Lakes Dort offering and Braxton's Twisted Bit Dortmunder Lager. Both are superb.

Newbie to the style so I'm just rolling along rating against something similar to a lager/marzen. Regardless of my familiarity - clearly this is a well made and delicious beer.

First impression - this is a great looking beer. Beautiful copper-bronze hue with a thick puffy head. The look speaks to the malty, bready flavors of the beer. Aroma is roasted malt, baked brown bread, toasted grains, caramel and toasted walnuts. Taste is right there with a mix of earthy and grainy malt, light citrus and herbal hops and a honey sweetness. Crisp, clean and mighty tasty. Far from a light lager, this baby brings a lot flavor and heft to the table for an incredibly reasonable ABV.
