Notes from phone, reviewed May 29, 2014. 12 ounce bottle with a 6/22/14 "enjoy by" date. A darker gold, slightly hazy beer pours into a shaker pint with a finger of frothy off-white head. Good retention and thick lacing. Lighter in color than many IPAs, but very attractive.

Bright, citrus hops in the aroma, but not too juicy. Grapefruit, orange peel, and lemon zest. Spiciness from both hops and the rye, which is very apparent as well. Caramel and biscuity malts bring it back down to earth.

Rye spice and citrus hops are dominant. Modest amount of bittering hops with a silghtly sweet finish from the non-rye malts. Very well balanced overall.

Medium=bodied with moderate carbonation. Clean, semi-dry mouthfeel that doesn't make much of a lasting impression, which is a good thing.

Well balanced, drinkable, and pleasant. Definitely an above-average IPA, but maybe not world-class. Overall, this is a very solid beer just like everything else from GLBC, and I'd definitely drink it again.
