On tap at Lovin' Cup in Henrietta, NY.

Pours a gold color, slightly hazy, with a half inch head, and lots of sticky lacing down the glass.

Smells grassy and piney, with some definite rye grain aromas, and some caramel like malt.

The taste is similar, quite hoppy, and quite tasty. There's a big citrus blast up front, followed by a piney and spicey bitterness both from the hops and the rye. Slightly peppery. There's a little bit of a malt backbone that provides some sweetness, but this mostly stays pretty dry.

Medium bodied, crisp, dry mouthfeel, medium carbonation, very drinkable.

This was great. Would love to get it again.

A: Pours a clear gold with a thin white mousse that recedes quickly.

S: Gentle, layered aromas of caramel, biscuit, rye bread, honey, apricot, white peach, tangerine, mandarin orange, and mango are present on the nose.

T: Notes of caramel, rye bread, crackers, biscuit, honeyed apricot, nectarine, white peach, tangerine, mandarin orange, mango, papaya, lemon, and lime fill the mouth. The finish is extremely fruity and subtly spicy with rye bread and biscuit notes contrasting with mango, apricot, tangerine, and papaya flavors.

M: Medium-bodied and dry, at least for the style. Carbonation is delicate, yet crisp. Alcohol is barely detectable.

O: An excellent rye-based IPA. Great hop aromas and flavors and a nice balance provided by the malts. Overall, this is an excellent effort.

Best by date of 6/15/14.

Pours dark orange / copper. Two-finger, eggshell white head, recedes slowly. Sticky lacing abound.

Nose is vibrant citrus hops and white pepper spice courtesy of the rye.

Taste includes a heavy dose of citrus – mandarin orange, mango and pineapple – followed by a subtle pepper spice note, piney hops, grapefruit rind and a touch of honey. Hops are backed by a moderate malt bill which adds some sweetness. Sticky mouthfeel with a dry, bitter finish.

Refreshing and a complex take on the Rye IPA style.

This is another tasty brew from Great Lakes. It's a beautiful cloudy golden orange color. Very nice tropical fruits in the nose here especially some more sweeter fruits such as kiwi and starfruit. Taste is similar and even sweeter than the nose. The rye is there but it shows up rather mildly midway through the taste profile and its definitely much more of an understated taste to it. Lightish body and mid carbonation produces a very refreshing and drinkable rye IPA. This is quite good.

12 oz bottle poured into a Duvel tulip. Best by date of 6/28/15 makes this just over a month old.

Appearance - Pours a burnt orange, copper color with roughly a finger of off-white head.

Nose - Dominated by this lush, rich, lightly spiced rye. Very clean. Not overwhelming. Some orange citrus helps to round it out. Maybe a hint of pine.

Taste - Much of the same as the nose. Juicy citrus steps up to the front - but that rye is always there. Finishes super clean and dry. Tons of bread in the finish and lingers for a while on the palate.

Feel - Medium-full body for an IPA. Low-moderate carbonation. Perfect.

Overall - Really love this beer. Look forward to it every year, and it never disappoints. All the flavors go play so well together, and it drinks so well for its relatively high ABV. Highly recommended. This is easily a 4-4.25 out of 5.
