Best by 1/16/22. 16oz can poured into a tulip.

Pours a burnt golden with nice clarity and transparency; fluffy off-white head that fades leaving nice retention and sticky lacing.

The aromas are malt forward. There's a decent amount of caramel and toffee. Hints of citrus.

The flavors basically follow the nose. More caramel and toffee. More citrus, especially grapefruit. Some hop leaves coming through. Some rye and black pepper in the mix. Slightly spicy. Slightly sticky. Solid bitterness. Subtle sweetness. Solid malt backbone. Finishes warm, but it's not hot or boozy at all. It drinks a bit bigger than it actually is.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth and slightly sharp.

This is a pretty solid DIPA. It's pretty enjoyable and fun to drink. The craftsmanship is on point. It almost has a "Red IPA" vibe going on. It might not scream "dank", but I can see it. There's no doubt that it's "leafy". Either way I do like it. Well done.

Four pack copped from ShopRite in Parsippany. Pours a golden, bright effervescent hue with moderate frothing. Ardent aroma replete with lacings of fresh pine and gooey hops.
Similar overall flavor profile. Not bad, but loses points for drinkability.

16oz can
date stamped 02/01/22
L: caramel colored ale with a tall pillow of ivory head that holds excellent retention
S: citrus, pine, bready caramel malt
T: pungently bitter; pine resin, pithy grapefruit zest, herbal & earthy hops, bread crust, caramelized grain
F: full body, ample carbonation, bitter & dry finish with some residual caramely sweetness and pine lingering
O: very good DIPA with old school hop flavors

Pours a clear amber. Big hop aroma. Heavy hop body. Bitter but not too bitter. Smooth malt finish. Well balanced. Exactly what you want in an imperial IPA.

From a 16oz can dated (best by) 2/7/22 into a tulip.

Pours a slightly murky dark brownish orange with about four fingers of light tan head. Incredible retention and lacing.

Smell isn't very strong but getting some pine, resin, grass and earth.

Taste follows but much more powerful than the nose. Big bitter pine, resin and earth. Like sucking on a piece of fresh cut pine in a crawl space. Touch of sweetness (caramel?) on the back end of the sip

Strong bitter aftertaste. Sticky, full-bodied mouthfeel. Low carbonation. It's a slow sipper for sure.

Overall, fantastic. It's called dank for a reason and it's on-point.

Pours a deep amber color with a thick, tan head, long retention, and good lacing.

The smell is pine and a nice, strong citrus.

The taste is strong, dank, and piney. The finish is long and very bitter.

The mouthfeel is medium body, low/medium carbonation, and a bit oily.

Overall, it's just as advertised by the name. Enjoyable beer.

Listen, if u are after a really dank beer then this is a good choice. I found it a little over powering. But to be fair, it it called dank demon so i guess i should have expected it. It is not a bad beer by any means. Two will provide a nice buzz quickly. Just be prepared for the dank.

Best By Date: 02/07/22.

A - Clear dark medium copper color with dense white soapy lacing and light carbonation.

S - Light tangerine and citrus, slightly herbal, and barely oily.

T - Sweet malt base lays a foundation for for faded citrus / tropical fruit / tangerine and some herbal character. Ends with an agressive bitter punch that lingers on the palate. There's a slight bit of alcohol presence but it doesn't detract from the beer.

M - Big medium body to light heavy with a slippery, oily texture.

O - I wish breweries would use the "Canned/Bottled On" date instead of a "Best By" date and let me be the judge. That being said, not sure when this was canned with only one more month left on the "Best By" date. The biggest standout on this beer is the herbal and bitter character, otherwise, tastes pretty mundane with not much significant character.

Well it's pretty dank good balanced level of bitterness but to me I would rather have more fruit hops flavor balancing the ABV. Honestly if it wasn't for the rep of the brewery or the pretty sweet can art I wouldn't have even picked it up. Not bad though!

Look: It pours amber with slight haze. The head is off white with excellent head retention.

Smell: It has up front aromas of citrus and pine. There is a dankness in close support with slight grass and grainy sweetness.

Taste: It has a sharp resinous flavor with dankness up front. There are some pine notes with very low grainy sweetness and very low citrus.

Feel: It has a medium full body with a resinous bitter finish with a touch of sweetness.

Overall, the dank and resinous qualities dominate the balance of the beer.

16oz can into a pint glass. Best by sometime in February 2022.

Somewhat hazy dark amber body with a splendid off white head which persists in some form throughout right down to the last drop. Speckled lacing.

Sweet and dank hoppy aroma.

On tasting, hits this palate very nicely. Solid sweet malt base, nice to find an ipa brewer that doesn't overlook that aspect. Good hoppy dank and piney bitterness. There is a dry spicy element as well. Nice.

Mouth closer to full, finish a sweet, dry bitter progression.

Overall, really enjoyed this one. Great Lakes is a solid brewer, rarely fails to deliver. The abv is quite well hidden, so drinker beware.

The Dank Demon pours a rich looking malty brew with a BIG fluffy head. The aroma is of malt. The taste is pine and a little dank with some bitterness. A solid brew that some will like better than others. Has a strong mouthfeel because of the bitterness. The malt is good but doesn't level out the hop bitterness. Best By 02/01/2022

Decent offering from a very good outfit. Keep them coming Great Lakes!
L: Drinking from the can. It's actually pretty awesome.
S: Leafy earthiness. Pine. Pretty nice.
T: Grapefruit pith. Pine. Not the greatest but definitely good stuff.
F: Smooth; light carbonation
O: Worthy stuff. Not driving me crazy but worth checking out.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is copper, transparent, head is light tan/off white with fine bubbles, head presents 1+ finger thick and then dissipates to thin top with some lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is big resiny, piney hops, dankness is there but not overdone, but the resinous, pine, and grapefruit pith is big; some sweet, caramel malt, some toffee, light booze.

Taste is resinous, piney, more dank hops with some grapefruit pith, earth, herbal notes, light spice and wood; then the sweetness emerges with caramel, toffee, base malt just general goodness.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate + sweetness, strong bitterness, drying bitterness and light boozy presence.

Overall a very good DIPA in classic DIPA fashion, are i say retro at this point - big resinous hops, light 'dankness', moderate sweetness AND bitterness.

L: Pours a clear dark orange, a big frothy eggshell head left a moderately laced glass.
S: Aroma has some spice, caramel and some dank resiny hops.
T: This is quite "hoppy", some caramel and some malt sweetness.
F: Medium Bodied, nicely carbonated.
O: Another really nice beer from there Imperial IPA Series

Date on the very cool looking can, with a great name, is 1/16/22. I'm not sure what that date really means, but I love the reddish, amber color which pours with a thin lacy head. Beautiful aroma, that's sweet and spicy. The taste also is sweet and spicy and has hints of caramel and pepper, which compliments the hops, which is nice for an IPA. Mouthfeel is very smooth. It has a little punch due to the ABV, but it's an Imperial IPA, what do you expect? I like Great Lakes Brewing products and this is no exception. I would buy it again.

I'm glad I bought four of these. I recently posted how I won't necessarily even buy an IPA or other fresh style with a best by date. I stand by that posting. The useless date on this can is 2-14-2022, not quite three months from now. So maybe this IS fresh, and I like it a lot.

It pours a serious IPA color, a little orange. Very dignified, and clear. The aroma is strong, bitter, and pungent, but not offensive, more alluring. It tastes bitter and dry, but not overly so. It hides the alcohol and maltiness. Just an excellent brew and I can't wait to have another.

Highly recommended. A big IPA that is a pleasure to drink. It's fresh if it is 80 days before the best by date.

BTW, it isn't dank. Maybe the end of the can, but not in the glass. The can is worth a whiff. What a beer pervert.
