From a fresh growler, pours a slightly hazy orange-gold. A finger of dense foam leaves modest lacing. Smell is tropical fruit, citrus, floral, subtle pine and sweet malt. Taste is similar, followed by unapologetic bitterness. Feel is a very drinkable medium. Overall, this is an excellent hoppy IIPA. Very well made, underrated.

Pours clear, copper in color with ½ inch head. Taste is pineapple, pine, caramel, biscuit, and grapefruit. Nice mix of sweet and bitter, medium-heavy bodied, with low carbonation. Makes for a great imperial IPA. The hops seem unique and interesting and there is a great deal of caramel malt. Great beer, great value…All night..Prefer this to Chillwave.

L: pours hazy gold filled with rapidly rising bubbles under a 1" cream colored foam cap with moderate retention

S: smells of citrus, bread crumb, some resin and a trace of ditch weed

T: flavors start mildly sweet with citrus, light fruit, resin, bread crumb, and herb leading to an assertive bitter finish

F: The body and carbonation are medium

O: This big bold Double IPA achieves a nice balance between the malt and hop flavors and the hop bitterness.

Ahhhh, Great Lakes...the genesis of good craftbeer in Ohio....this was very good, terrific nose, great body and a decent, but not prohibitive ABV. Super solid.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass best by date of 7/10/17 so I am guessing a 4/10 bottling date

A: Amber orange body with great clarity small creamy looking white that settles to barely a film.

S: Sweet melon like cantaloupe a little honey a little herbal and some grass.

T: Lots of sweet cantaloupe almost like eating an overripe cantaloupe a little light citrus in the finish.

M: Medium bodied wth a slight bit of cling on the tongue.

O: This beer is just too sweet. It muddles what might otherwise be a great beer, but the beers fruit flavored are so undistinguished. This beer is every bit as unremarkable as they have made Chillwave.

I bought a 4pck of this from the beer store around the corner. It poured a clear orangish with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of sweet malt mixed with citrus hop. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink for a DIPA...good grapefruit bite that gets smoothed by caramel malt finish. The mouthfeel was fuller with good carbonation. Overall it's another solid offering from Great Lakes.
