Poured into a large wine goblet: color is gold/copper, transparent, head is brighter white with fine to small bubbles that present about 1/2 inch thick and then dissipate to a ring on the side, some bubbly lacing.

Smell is heavy fruit, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, well blended; back end sweeter malt noticeable - not caramel but something sweet there.

Taste is similarly fruity - with grapefruit, mango, pineapple; malt is sweet but i dont pinpoint caramel - maybe more of a sweet lingering note from the fermentation. Hops are big, struggling to overtake the sweetness at first but then as it warms they begin to dry out the flavor a bit.

Mouthfeel is softer than many DIPAs, but also a bit on the sweet side at first then reduces to a dryness.

Overall a good DIPA, but a touch much on the lean towards sweetness in the flavor and mouthfeel.

"Enjoy by 6/16/16"; drank 5/2/16 @ the Yarchives.

See-through orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a big off-white head; a curtain of frothy lace.

Melon, pineapple, apple cider & faint booze heat notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Tart pineapple & sweet apple cider flavors up front; melon notes on the finish. Almost no booze heat. A hint on the sweet side, but bold flavors here. I'd like to try this when it's extremely fresh...

Deep copper colored body with a thick, creamy head; sheets of foam clinging to the side of the glass. Bountiful nose packed with floral, citrus, and berry notes. Well-balanced flavors, melding light cereal grains and strong yet restrained hop bitterness; low-key alcohol presence. Smooth, warm and toasty mouthfeel; heavy body yet still easy drinking; fair amount of residual sugars yet not cloying.

A very well-rounded DIPA bringing on lots of complex and balanced flavors and mouthfeel. The aroma is particularly pleasing.

I always enjoy trips back to my home state (in north central Ohio) and finding not only Great Lakes' standard offerings, but little gems like this one. I didn't find this one on my last trip by kudos to @LongTaco15 for this beer.

My absolutely favorite brew. This is my first written review so go easy. I found this in the bottle at a local gastropub.

Looks - A dark gold to copper pour. Good clarity. Off white, persistent head with little lacing.

Smell - A nosefull of thick grapefruit and citrus is at the forefront, although I can almost taste an orange rind type of bitterness. Sweetened just enough by the malt to give a balanced Smooth aroma. There is a bit of a booziness though not overally aggressive.

Taste - I can taste an abundance of grapefruit. Seriously, it's as though it's freshly squeezed. The malt does a fantastic job of rounding out the hops with a sweet and thick flavor somewhere between caramel and honey. Balanced almost perfectly so that every flavor can be drawn out with each sip.

Feel - Medium to thick bodied, although very smooth. I've never felt as though I needed to "chew" this brew to get it down. It really does the work for you, if that makes sense. Light to moderate carbonation may contribute to a smooth, thick finish.

Overall, my favorite beer to date. Everything about this beer reminds me of good times. The citrus flavor brings me to the opening of baseball season and warm weather. The burst of hops almost frightens me until the caramelly malt washes away the anticipation of that stinging sensation I felt in my first few IPA's. I've gotten many people to start drinking different beer by introducing this particular brew to them. Any beer that makes people want to stray from their norm is a beer worth trying.

L: lovely pale color with a little hint of auburn splashed in
S: Fruity including citrus and very hoppy
T: Great grapefruit tastes with plenty of other pleasant fruity tastes. Most importantly a bold hoppiness with hints of pine
F: Not too smooth not to biting right in the sweet spot area
O: One of the best DIPAs out there. Nothing wrong with the beer though it could probably add something to really blow me away and land solidly as one of the best beers I have ever had.

On draft in snifter

copper orange in color, clear, white head that fades. Piney hop aroma, a bit herbal. Fairly bitter taste. Thinner bodied, sticky bodied.
