Harsh. Very harsh. Would not have guess this had mosaic hops based on how harsh it is.

Great citrus flavors w/ a nice minimal bitter aftertaste. This beer definitely has a nice to chill to it with a nice orange scent to it. My favorite Great Lakes beer for sure. DIPA that I always look forward to coming out during its season release.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12oz bottle.

Appearance: Pours golden-orange with a medium off-white head that slowly dissipates. Very clear.

Smell: Big citrus smell. Orange jumps out. Some pine and floral hop smell as well.

Taste: Very smooth. Hop bitterness is present, but very pleasant. Malt flavor seems to be a breadiness. Slight alcohol flavor. Starts bitter ends sweet.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with medium carbonation.

A very enjoyable DIPA. The balance between the bittering and flavor/aroma hops are outstanding.

L = Big white head with a clean light amber/light brown look.
S = Smell sweet, tropical fruit and malt.
T = Hops are not overwhelming. Nice balance between the malt and hops giving it a sweet/hoppy flavor
F = Good carbonation, might have liked a little more, but it is refreshing.
O = Overall this if very nice. The label says ABV: 9%, which doesn't seem terribly high, but I do feel it after it a few minutes. Not at all a bad thing though. Malt and Hops are nicely balanced.

Poured into a snifter. Clear amber-orange with a one-finger foamy white head. Fruity aroma with a noticeable caramel finish. Big beer with big sweet malt but balance with the hops. Tropical but also earthy, piney, and dank. Finishes clean with a warming from the ABV.

Poured into IPA glass. It pours a medium amber color with a foamy, two-finger, ecru-colored head and extensive lacing. It's a very attractive pour. The smell features tropical fruit: pineapple and mango, as well as grapefruit. There is also the smell of malt and floral hops and spices that remind me of mustard. The taste is quite complex: I'm getting a lot of malt up front with the tropical fruit adding a subtle sweetness. Then the hops hit hard and dank. The finish is dry and quite bitter (it seems more than 80 IBU). This is a medium-bodied ale with moderate carbonation. While there is no real burn, you notice the 9% ABV. Overall, this is a very well crafted DIPA. It is solidly in the tier below the superstars. It would pare well with a hearty meal but is also appropriate for casual drinking, provided that the alcohol will catch up to you.

2016 release
~1 month since bottling date

Appearance- Pours a golden orange color, fairly transparent. Pillowy and frothy finger thick head, ever so slightly off white in color. Moderate lacing on glass.

Aroma- Juicy tropical fruit notes, pineapple, mango, melon. Subtle blueberry and strawberry. Mild citrus and grassy, earthy aromas. Honey accentuates sweet fruit flavors. Malty, bready sweetness.

Taste- Sweet honey intermingles with juicy tropical fruit notes. Lots of pineapple and mango. Blueberry with some dank earthiness. Mild citrus notes wrapped in a real malty sweetness.

Feel- Medium body, good amount of sticky sweetness. Moderate carbonation.

Overall- They really do a great job of balancing the honey sweetness with the mosaic hops. Its more tropical fruit forward than i get in most mosaic hop beers and i think it might be because the honey really draws out the juiciness. Very good beer.
