Situated across the river from the main area of downtown Cleveland, and easily located off Carnegie Ave, across from the West Side Market.

This review will focus just on the brewpub facility itself, as I did not go on the tour of the brewery. I just had an hour or so to kill for lunch.

The building itself is old, and I do not know the history of it, but it is completely imaginable to envision a brewery being there for quite a long time.

Front bar area, with dining areas of to the sides. Downstairs seating and a smaller bar as well. Nice warm, old world feeling.
Decor comprises artifacts from the industrial age of brewing. Our table had a scale used for measuring barley and/or hops.

They had six tap selections that day. I ordered the Blacklout Stout, and Conway Irish Ale. The others included a Barleywine, and IPA, Lager, Porter, and an Amber Ale.

The Blackout was excellent, but I found the Irish ale lacking. My stout was served in a small tulip glass, which I found nice, but it was served too cold.

The food was standard pub grub, with slight gourmet twists. also, some decent vegetarian options.

Service was quick and attentive.

It was a nice comfortable stop that day. I would go back the next time I find myself in Cleveland. A "must" on any beer directed tour of Ohio.

Good service and friendly atmosphere. Food was average. Took a tour of brewery which was worth it.

Great Lakes Brewery has great beers across the board, huge seelction of regular rotation and a seasonal beer for every month. It will stand up to any brewery in the country!

Wonderful selections! Never thought I'd be saying great things about anything coming from the water of Lake Erie, but then I'm from Pittsburgh, so... We've tried several of the offerings from GLB, Co. and enjoyed every one more than several times. Our favorite is Dortmunder Gold Lager so far. I'm not much of a lager fan, but this is not your typical lager. While it's rich, it doesn't have the usual heaviness and it's great for a hot day! All in all, it's almost a perfect beer that goes great with a summer meal. Enjoy!

A good brewery located close to downtown Cleveland and very close to the West Market (which is worthwhile exploring). I wish I had spent more time there, but I had a prior engagement, never-the-less I did get to try a few of their beers (which I had never tried before).

This is a can't miss place. Sitting at the same bar John D. Rockefeller sat at and where Elliot Ness shot a hole in is a great experience. the basement bar has an hones old pub feel. the food is top notch and the service was excellent. If you are lucky enough to be in Cleveland, you must make this a priority.

While I can't rate the food, I can assure any potential visitor that the Holy Moses, Turntable Pils, and Dortmund Gold were absolutely delicious, and were great to have over a long conversation... I'm confident that if Washington operated over a couple bottles of Great Lakes, we wouldn't have quite so many problems with our government that we do...

Went here before a Cavaliers game to eat dinner and drink some beer. Restaurant provides a shuttle ride for $1/person to and from, which is a nice bonus. Beers on tap are just as good as what you can buy in a bottle.

A very unique, old building in which it is very dark. The cellar pub is even more dingy, but cool. They hav]d several beers on tap in which a few are not commonly found. The gift shop had much variety in which all flagship and some other beers are offered for takeout.
