A great Pilsner. At first blush a regular entry but on further consideration worth a mention - this is an Pilsner that goes head to head with its German relatives and is overall clear, crisp and well balanced, but it really needs to be cold. Depending on the batch one can get a hint of an unpleasant after taste (almost touch of skunk like Heineken) but I’m my last few can it was not there at all. Always better out of the bottle, too.

Cool story of a small Toronto brewery.
Nice balance between sweet and bitter, fairly crisp, solid pilsner. Flavour upfront with a hoppy bite, smooth finish.

Pretty disappointed, very bitter and more expensive than what I normally get. At least I got a neat lunch box with it.

Smallish head and it recedes quickly and leaves no lacing. The liquid is Crystal clear with a straw to gold color.
More grainy than malty. The smell is thin and I don’t pick up any hop.
The thinnest carries through in both body and flavor. Again it’s grainy but I do get some lighter hop bitterness. It’s like a cross between a macro lager and a weak Pilsner. Mostly grainy finish and aftertaste.

The hype here is absolutely warranted. This is truly what Canadian beer should taste like. Its sweet as too be expected, but it also has fantastic pilsner bite. Served cold from the green bottle, there's honestly not many other beers I'd want to enjoy watching the sun slip behind the Canadian horizon. Unfortunately, its been far too long since I've had this beer. Since the boarder closed starting in 2020, this weekend was the first time I could get back over. This beer was a motivating factor to get over the bridge so I could once again bring back a pack of steam. Unfortunately, they were out of 6 pack bottles at the Beer Store in Brockville, so cans had to suffice for this year. I mentioned to my Canadian friend I was picking up a pack of steam and he responded with "Oh, that shit is straight gas." Yes, yes indeed it is.

This is a very refreshing beer with a classic Canadian pilsner taste. Just the right amount of hopiness, full-bodied and not too sweet. I think that many here have underrated it. Of course, if you're looking for Czech pilsner, this isn't it. But perhaps that's why so many like it.

Pours straw colour body with a modest white head that retains fairly well.
Smells like sour apple with banana nut bread buried a little deeper.
I get a lot of apple on the mouth. The feel is a bit thin. Light, bready, wafery. Finishes with a hint of peppery spice.
Overall it's very drinkable. Bonus marks for how clean it is -- you can knock back several of these and not feel worse for wear. But from a pure taste perspective it's pretty straightforward.

I fully agree with some of the other posters completely puzzled as to the low ratings by some.
For me this is almost the perfect Pilsner.
No foam enhancers, all natural including the spring water.
Quality offering.
