APPEARANCE: Mostly clear and golden in color. The initial head is pretty huge...about three full fingers, but it settles swiftly into a quarter-inch cap on the surface. The lacing covers a fair amount of the back of the glass, but where it sticks it is quite thick.

SMELL: Juicy and zesty. Orange and lemon zest are all over this, but a little grapefruit also comes through. A bit of pine and just a touch of grass also make themselves known.

TASTE: Grapefruit comes through much stronger than it did in the nose. The orange (especially) and lemon are still here. Pine is strong and the grass is present. Also, that weird onion flavor (see Stone Enjoy By) brings in a nice hoppy touch.

MOUTHFEEL: I guess this is what the ideal balance is like. I truly can't tell if this is more sweet or more dry. Either way, the carbonation provides a solid, but not-to-intense tickle and the body is right down the middle, medium. Pretty much perfect.

OVERALL: This beer is so well balanced. It's difficult to say anything bad. It truly carries some of the characteristics of a big, bold Double IPA while maintaining a lower ABV and more of that intense hop character. Amazing beer.

EDIT: This beer is fresh as fuck.

Perfectly clear copper-gold IPA.

Very classic profile of grapefruit pulp and peel. Exceptional drinkability.

This is a very solid modern take on a classic IPA.

Agressive pour into my trusty ol Samual Smith IPA glass.Pours a big frothy head.Did not have to wait too long to wait for said head to go away.Smells like a typical west coast IPA.First sip I thought this was a Sculpin it is that close.Bitter to the core.Maybe a little too bitter. All in all a decent IPA and I would most likely buy again but I like to try new things and it would not be my first choice.Still a well done IPA.

One of the more subtle and balanced IPA's out West. Subtle, sweet malty entry. Malts are clean and cracker-like with a hint of honey detected. Sweet malt backbone transitions to a relatively hoppy bitter finish. The hops, too, are subtle. Hops are floral, moderately spicy, herbal, with a touch of grapefruit. A big flash of clean bitterness in the finish. That bitterness makes its presence known then dissipates, leaving you ready for the next sip. The sweetness of the malt seems to wash away the finishing bitter in this brew. I love that about this beer. Trace bitterness lingers on the palate. Cereal grains in the finish. Body is thin. Carbonation is low, which I enjoy as well.

This beer is by no means an earth shattering, mind blowing beer that will alter your life after having. But what it is is one of the most sessionable 7%, 70IBU beers that you can have of ANY style. The hallmark of this beer (and really any great beer) is the drinkability. I buy a sixer of this beer a couple times a year to be reminded of the above. One of my favorite year around IPA's. This beer really shines when your engaged in outdoor activities. It's also a beer that I like to introduce to people who think they don't like IPA's.

A: Pours a golden color with 2+ fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves sticky lacing down the glass

S: Some earthy and citrusy hops balanced out by a sturdy maltiness. A bit of fruity yeastiness as well

T: Follows the nose. Balanced from the start, with a mix of citrus, fruitiness, grassy/earthiness, and a bit of breadiness. Bitter throughout

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A little on the prickly/abrasive side

O: A solid IPA that is very well balanced and extremely easy to drink. The IBUs definitely smack you around a little towards the end, as there is almost no residual sweetness to counteract the bitterness. If you're really into juicy IPAs, stay away. Otherwise, pick some up

Soft, round flavor for a west coast ipa, note on front is subdued and finish does not linger as expected.

Not my favorite IPA but certainly good. Nice little fruity tone but a little too bitter aftertaste. Still not bad at all.

Nose: well balanced between citrusy, resiny hops and rich malt. Hops exhibit some grapefruit notes and you can also smell some caramel from the malt.
Pours brilliant amber under a 2" bone white finely bubbled foam cap.
Medium to medium high carbonation, medium body.
On the palate the hops are medium high with big grapefruit flavors riding on a caramel seasoned malt backbone.
Drinkable and refreshing.
