Ale brewed with Blood Oranges. Blood Orange Brew Free! is brewed like our original west coast style Brew Free! or Die IPA, but with an abundance of fresh blood orange puree and a twist of citrusy dry hops. Refreshingly different. As Abe would say, “Whatever you are, be a good one.”

From a "Hop Pack" mixed 12 pack, 12 oz can poured into a tulip glass.
Pours a nice golden orange. A little hze going on with very slight carbonation noticeable. Forms a nice but it dissipated quickly. Smell is malty w/ slight citrus. Taste is hop forward, some grapefuit, orange tones. This is a hop forward brew, not a "juicy" orange. The bitter dominates. Very nice.

I am drinking Blood Orange I.P.A. today using a Willie Belcher. I served it at 46 degrees. The pour created an airy, foamy, creamy, two-fingered, white head with above-average retention. The color is golden yellow with pale straw hues, charting around S.R.M. 6. The beer is clear with carbonation bubbles. The dissipation left lots of lacing on the glass. The appearance is above average for this style.
The aromas are floral, soft herbal, orange, pineapple, herbal, light pine, grapefruit, biscuity malts, and toasted bread crust. The citrus notes dominate the nose.
The beer has aggressively citrus flavors: lemons, grapefruit, and orange peel. I have worked a lot with blood oranges in the kitchens, yet what is their significance in this beer? The hops profile is herbal, floral, and ester-like honeysuckle, with honey, toasted bread, biscuity malts, and light pine. I enjoy lots of citrus in a beer; however, more citrus will create an imbalance. That is what we have: an issue with the balance of flavors.
The mouthfeel is astringent and finishing tannic. The body is medium, and the carbonation is medium.
I wanted to enjoy this beer rather than pick it apart. The citrus is overpowering, like sucking on an orange peel. The hops do little to create depth. The malty backbone is firm, yet it gets lost in the mire of other flavors—average I.P.A. at best.

Pours cloudy orange with tons of tiny floating particles. Thick white head, nice lacing. Aroma is orange Froot Loops. Flavor follows the nose. Feel is light bodied and adequately carbonated. Overall, rather one dimensional but I like it.

12oz can. Stamp on can bottom does not provide a clear canning date.
Clear, deep gold colored body. Two fingers of white head retreat after a number of minutes to a partial cap and ring. Leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma features a lot of orange and grapefruit, along with a toasted malt base.
Taste mirrors the nose, with bright and fruity orange flavors, backed up by a honey sweet malt base. Bitterness level is low, but with the essence of citrus pith.
Medium mouth feel, with a slight stickiness. Causes tongue numbness. Very good carbonation.

I've only had this from the can. True to it's name--there's a big blood orange flavor. Malty, sweet, with a lingering drying bitterness. It’s enjoyable for what it is.

Pours light amber yellow and clear. Aroma is bright, clean and citrus -- lots of orange related flavors. Taste is smooth, on the light side of moderate, and quite citrus bitter -- orange and lemon peel. My version was somewhat less carbonated than desired, but drinkable.

Light amber with a light haze, big white head, excellent retention, rings of lace
Smells like orange zest
Tastes like orange zest and a bit of pith, some sweet malt underneath
Medium bodied and appropriately carbonated
Definitely delivers on being a blood orange IPA
