12 oz can poured into a tulip.
4.9% ABV,

A - Slightly hazed, Hell or High Watermelon is warm pale straw yellow in color with a soapy white head that relaxes to a ring of foam and little lace left behind.

S - Juicy Jolly Rancher watermelon aroma blends with pale malt and soft wheat for a simple but dry, inviting aroma that suggests faint tartness in the background.

T - Watermelon flavor is at the forefront and carefully teeters between authentic and artificial, but nicely blending with the one dimensional pale malt base.

M - Crisp and refreshing, Hell or High Watermelon is light bodied and effervescent with a slightly dry finish that trails off with clean drinkability.

O - It's been my experience trying to incorporate the flavor of natural watermelon into a beer without a syrupy, fake outcome is incredibly hard. That said, I think 21st Amendment has done a fine job producing such a beer; one with good watermelon flavor incorporated nicely into a

Drank from the can, so no word on appearance. Light, tasty, smooth. Great choice for hot days. Watermelon flavor is reserved, but present and sweet. Ideal beer for backyards, rivers, and during the day.

Tried at Three Monkeys Bar & Grill and the Northside Grill, both in Richmond, Va

A - Pours a very pale light hazy yellow with one finger fluffy white head. Not much color. Good retention though

S - Smells of berries & light malts. Vert light aroma. I did not detect any watermelon.

T - Tastes of mixed berries right up front. Slight malt background. Still no watermelon. Over all disappointing.

M - Very lgiht beer. Pretty watery. Does go down easy

O - Very disappointed. I was looknig forward to trying this beer but it didnt have much flavor or aroma. The berry flavor it did have seemed artificial. Im not sure where they are picking up the watermelon at

A pretty solid summer brew that it seems is becoming a love-it or hate-it beer around most parts. I get the complaints that it doesn't taste like real watermelon, but what really does? Hell, watermelon tastes like pure sugar sometimes depending on the quality of it.

Either way, this is an extremely sessionable beer that is light, smooth, and good for the summer. I can't imagine drinking this at any other time than on a hot day (and it's really, really, really good for working on cars in a hot driveway), so I should limit my review to that, I guess.

EIther way, I like it quite a bit in the summer but would never want to drink it at any other time.

12oz can into a tall pils glass.

A: Cloudy effervescent straw color with a faint wispy white head.

S: Light wheat beer aromas, yeast, some grassy notes and a touch of fruitiness...no real watermelon aromas.

T: More watermelon here but I'm not partial to it - sorta fake and funky, a bit sour. Musty and grainy as wheat beers go, but watery at the same time.

MF: Lighter body with moderate carbonation.

O: Not real good. I finished the glass but didn't really want to. Don't like the watermelon that is there, and there isn't a lot of it. As far as a wheat beer its light and pilsner-like, grainy and grassy and watery. Just not my favorite but not terrible.

12 ounce can, canned on 6/27/13. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with about an inch white head. Head retention is decent, and there isn't much lacing. The brew smells mostly like sweet and bready malt, along with a bit of watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. The taste is similar to the aroma, except that there's more balance between the malty and watermelon flavor. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy enough to drink. Not a bad beer for a hot day. I only grabbed this since I was able to get a single can at my local Kroger. I wouldn't buy a six pack of this, but it's worth trying if you've never had it before.
