Hell or High Watermelon wheat ale 4.9%ABV's 17 IBU's
Look: golden, hazey, white head, lots of carbonation
Smell: watermelon, wheat, malts
Taste: watermelon, wheat, citrus
Mouth: light, thin, crisp, refreshing
Overall: This is a tastey, good smelling watermelon ale. I don't think it comes across as a heftier sort of wheat beer. The body is slightly light for a great wheat ale, but the watermelon comes through and tastes nice.

12 oz. can

Pours hazy foggy gold with a dissipating frothy white foam head. Smells like fresh wheat and watermelon, with some floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like sweet candied watermelon, bready crackery wheat, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a nice watermelon wheat beer.

Excellent beverage. Poured with a thin head, and awfully murky, which put me a little off at the beginning. After smelling the bouquet though, it's like smelling a fresh cut watermelon. I was afraid that this beer would taste like a watered down fruit drink, but it stays true to its roots! Very light watermelon taste brewed for a fresh summery cookout. Highly recommended!

12 oz. can poured into a tulip style pint glass.

In the glass it has hazy golden orange body with a fast fading one and a half inch white head. The head ends up as just a crown of micro-bubbles but it leaves nice lacing.

The nose is pretty weak, minimal wheat malt and a light fruity ester that opens up to watermelon hard candy as it warms. It tastes of wheat, slightly sweet malt and watermelon hard candy, not the actual fruit. Bitterness is very low but there is a small amount of hop character. It finishes rather clean. Mouth feel is light with medium carbonation but rather soft. There is a small amount of astringency on the tongue that comes with the finish.

This is better than I thought, refreshing and easy to drink. Although I enjoyed this it has not converted me to a fruit beer lover.

For those of you who have drank other watermelon beers, rejoice in this very subtle effort. I have beeen drinking this beer for 4-5 years sitting around and in my neighbors pool. For a summer sipping beer, it basically pimp slaps all of the traditional light beers. The melon flavor is very subtle, unlike,
Watermelon dorado from ballast point, which is very strong and sugary. All in all this beer should have a higher rating for what it is. Trust me, if you want a summer beer that is not cl or bl get some of this.

Can to becher pint glass, the appearance was a soft burnt orange to copper color with a sly transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Just a tickle of lace, but sliding.
The aroma had some sweet grassy hops, crisp cracker malt and then the watermelon which was sweet yet light, not artificial.
The flavor was mainly sweet through the grassy hops, cracker malt and the watermelon. Sly aftertaste of the watermelon and cracker malt.
The mouthfeel was light bodied with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, good for what it is, I went into this not expecting of PtE, Heady or even Trillium status and came out pleased with this one. Personally, I think they kept the "watermelon" exactly where it should be in this beer because watermelon as a fruit to use in a beer - high levels of it would raise suspicions of an artificial quality. Good job on keeping the watermelon quaint and nice.

had I not known the beer was watermelon flavored I might never have guessed. oh, it's there but subtle.
although listed here as year'round this is a seasonal summer brew, which makes sense and it was a perfect refresher on this day that hit 108.
I see another6 or two in my future

Went to a house party, hosted by people I didn't know, and was pleasantly surprised to see a good selection of beer on offering. Happy to see kindred spirits. On a sticky and humid day, this one hit the spot.
Poured from a can, a hazy and unfiltered looking straw golden color, perhaps an orange hue, yielded a moderate frothy head. Retention was decent.
The aroma was like a tale of two phases. At first, there was an almost funky and sulphuric like aroma that was slightly off putting. Soon, however, the watermelons aroma took over and saved the day, so to speak. It added a fruity and light sweetness that reminded me of summer.
In the flavor, the light and refreshing properties of watermelon make this a good choice for the type of day it was. Certainly the body was thin and a bit on the watery side, yet it was quite refreshing. The wheat backbone is evident, and, similar to Hefeweizen, contributed to a soft mouthfeel, yet, with more of a tingle and crispness from the carbonation. All throughout, there is a lemony zest that is evident in the finish, as well as a dryness that increases drinkability. Not content with being merely a fruit beer, there is a modest grassy hops in the middle phase that adds not so much of a punch, but a jab.
Was this beer perfect? Certainly not as it had minor flaws. However, given its refreshing qualities and the type of day it was, I would seek this one out again, particularly on a hot day.

L - light yellow, frothy head that dissipates quickly.
S - light wheat and banana scent. Otherwise, not much.
T - a light wheat flavor with a surprisingly delicious watermelon aftertaste. tastes extremely natural and blends perfectly well with the beer. really quite a surprise.
F - light bodied, high carbonation, low ABV, and very refreshing.
O - I'm giving this beer the benefit of the doubt because it really exceeded my expectations in the taste category. A solid drinkable wheat beer for the summer, and the watermelon flavor is really tasty. Delicious and would have again.

Poured from a can into a sample glass.

Appearance: Hazy yellow with a thin white head.

Smell: Grassy notes.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth light bodied. Taste of grass with a little bit of watermelon.

Overall: Not really that good, watered down flavor. I would not buy this again.

Look was nothing special. but nothing bad. Straw like yellow.

Smell is just ok. A solid 3.

Taste was better than I expected. The watermelon taste is too strong and does not overwhelm. It's a very drinkable wheat beer.

Overall is 4.25. Not the greatest wheat beer, but perfectly drinkable and something you might want for a warm day. Great as a session beer or thirst quencher.

Nothing new to add, everyone already knows what this beer is about. Had it at a small restaurant. Would be hard pressed to differentiate it from any macro adjunct beer. Thin and flavorless.

Look - Pours a hazy straw yellow color, a thin ring of white head quickly dissolves, no lacing.
Aroma - Watermelon, mineral water, hard candy.
Taste - Watery, thin crackery malt, watermelon like the aroma, mild sweetness, a bit of grain. Aftertaste is fairly mild with lingering melon flavors.
Feel - Light bodied, very watery, drinks more like a watered down fruit juice than beer.

Overall - It's alright but not something I'd have again. More juice than beer.

Poured from a can into a Lagunitas mason-glass.

L: Cloudy light golden pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. Modest lacing.

S: Watermelon. Lots of watermelon.

T/F: Follows the nose. Mild grain/wheat background with a lot of watermelon flavor. Maybe a bit of lemon citrus in there as well. Fairly 1-dimensional. Not much yeast character for a wheat. Medium to thin in body. Good carbonation. Finish is melon and sweetness.

O: If it's really hot out and you want a watermelon flavored beer... then you might enjoy this. Not my cup of tea... but they did get a lot of watermelon flavor into it. Interesting but one I'd pass on in future.

This is one of a 15 can sampler from 21st amendment that I tried this past week. It probably is a nice refresher on a summers day, It is pale in color and a fair pour on the head. as for taste and aroma... the smell of melon and that distinct wheat aroma is there, but the taste of melon is more on the lines of the rind and not the fruit. There is not much to this to comment on this beer, because it just didn't hit the right melon patch for me... sorry I may give it another try on a hot summers day.

Slightly cloudy, but light golden pour with a one-finger head. Aroma of just enough watermelon to entice you to drink, and whem you do, fantastic. Very light bodied. The watermelon taste is in okay enough to not dominate, a nice wheat beer.

Slightly cloudy golden pour with a small white head that fades quickly. Light watermelon aroma and taste. Very light bodied. Nice sweet and refreshing “summer” flavor with watermelon dominating the taste. Can also taste a hint of grain.

12 oz can. Pours a clear yellow color with a distinct watermelon aroma. Taste is purely watermelon with a clean refreshing flavor throughout. A light wheat beer that quenched my thirst but was overwhelming with watermelon.

I wasn't really into fruity beers before I tried this, but it is easily one of my favorite beers.

Drinkability is what I tend to appreciate most in beers and this beer fits the bill. It's an excellent summer/chilling brew. Unlike other fruity beers, when drinking this brew you still feel like you're drinking beer. Sometimes I worry it's too easy to drink Hell or High Watermelon. I've had it from the can and the tap. Can might be better actually. Either way, I need a keg.

"Enjoy by 6/30/15"; drank 5/3/15 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from a can into a glass.

Semi-opaque dull yellow appearance.

HUGE white head; decent lace.

Watermelon & faint dandelion funk notes in the nose.

Thin mouthfeel.

Clean, crisp watermelon flavor up front; mild wheat funk notes on the finish. Not super flavorful, but this would do on a hot summer day.

Pours yellow, very clear with a wide white foam head, good retention. Aroma is of wheat beer, no watermelon in aroma. Taste is where you find the watermelon, sutil and nice, very good recipe. Refreshing and easy to drink beer.

My favorite fruit beer and one of my summer go to. I think it taste the best on draft but the cans do the job. Awesome in the summer, but I have had it on the winter which was a nice change. Refreshing wheat beer with a good watermelon flavor not the artificial fruit flavor as other beers.

Very nice appearance pouring out as a light straw colored very clear beer. Lots of streaming bubbles and a topping of a white foamy head that does not hang around long.

Smell is like a sweet bread, almost like that great Hawaiian sweet bread you can pick up at the store. Very pleasant aroma.

Taste is extremely light with the watermelon definitely present. Without the watermelon in here this would be a very bland beer.

Mouth is very light and watery with a crisp finish.

This was a very light and refreshing beer. I can see this as being a great beer for the summertime. The beer is very light and watery and has a low ABV so a person could drink a few while out with friends. Since it is in a can this would be nice to take to the pool as well. Another area where this would shine would be at a BBQ. What a nice pleasant beer to wash down those burgers and brats hot off the grill.

Our favorite summer beer. Watermelon is subtle and overall this is very refreshing and sessionable. Only caveat is it has to be consumed ice cold....if you let it sit for a while and it starts warming, it isn't nearly as enjoyable. A winner !

Poured into a Pint Defiance tulip. The body is cloudy and golden, with a white finger head. Aromas consist of wheat, watermelon/watermelon rind, and a bit of lemon, but is kind of faint. Flavors are the same, and are quite refreshing. The feel is medium bodied with medium carbonation, and is crisp.
