12 oz. can
Pours hazy foggy gold with a dissipating frothy white foam head. Smells like fresh wheat and watermelon, with some floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like sweet candied watermelon, bready crackery wheat, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a nice watermelon wheat beer.

Excellent beverage. Poured with a thin head, and awfully murky, which put me a little off at the beginning. After smelling the bouquet though, it's like smelling a fresh cut watermelon. I was afraid that this beer would taste like a watered down fruit drink, but it stays true to its roots! Very light watermelon taste brewed for a fresh summery cookout. Highly recommended!

12 oz. can poured into a tulip style pint glass.
In the glass it has hazy golden orange body with a fast fading one and a half inch white head. The head ends up as just a crown of micro-bubbles but it leaves nice lacing.
The nose is pretty weak, minimal wheat malt and a light fruity ester that opens up to watermelon hard candy as it warms. It tastes of wheat, slightly sweet malt and watermelon hard candy, not the actual fruit. Bitterness is very low but there is a small amount of hop character. It finishes rather clean. Mouth feel is light with medium carbonation but rather soft. There is a small amount of astringency on the tongue that comes with the finish.
This is better than I thought, refreshing and easy to drink. Although I enjoyed this it has not converted me to a fruit beer lover.

For those of you who have drank other watermelon beers, rejoice in this very subtle effort. I have beeen drinking this beer for 4-5 years sitting around and in my neighbors pool. For a summer sipping beer, it basically pimp slaps all of the traditional light beers. The melon flavor is very subtle, unlike,
Watermelon dorado from ballast point, which is very strong and sugary. All in all this beer should have a higher rating for what it is. Trust me, if you want a summer beer that is not cl or bl get some of this.

Can to becher pint glass, the appearance was a soft burnt orange to copper color with a sly transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Just a tickle of lace, but sliding.
The aroma had some sweet grassy hops, crisp cracker malt and then the watermelon which was sweet yet light, not artificial.
The flavor was mainly sweet through the grassy hops, cracker malt and the watermelon. Sly aftertaste of the watermelon and cracker malt.
The mouthfeel was light bodied with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, good for what it is, I went into this not expecting of PtE, Heady or even Trillium status and came out pleased with this one. Personally, I think they kept the "watermelon" exactly where it should be in this beer because watermelon as a fruit to use in a beer - high levels of it would raise suspicions of an artificial quality. Good job on keeping the watermelon quaint and nice.

had I not known the beer was watermelon flavored I might never have guessed. oh, it's there but subtle.
although listed here as year'round this is a seasonal summer brew, which makes sense and it was a perfect refresher on this day that hit 108.
I see another6 or two in my future

Went to a house party, hosted by people I didn't know, and was pleasantly surprised to see a good selection of beer on offering. Happy to see kindred spirits. On a sticky and humid day, this one hit the spot.
Poured from a can, a hazy and unfiltered looking straw golden color, perhaps an orange hue, yielded a moderate frothy head. Retention was decent.
The aroma was like a tale of two phases. At first, there was an almost funky and sulphuric like aroma that was slightly off putting. Soon, however, the watermelons aroma took over and saved the day, so to speak. It added a fruity and light sweetness that reminded me of summer.
In the flavor, the light and refreshing properties of watermelon make this a good choice for the type of day it was. Certainly the body was thin and a bit on the watery side, yet it was quite refreshing. The wheat backbone is evident, and, similar to Hefeweizen, contributed to a soft mouthfeel, yet, with more of a tingle and crispness from the carbonation. All throughout, there is a lemony zest that is evident in the finish, as well as a dryness that increases drinkability. Not content with being merely a fruit beer, there is a modest grassy hops in the middle phase that adds not so much of a punch, but a jab.
Was this beer perfect? Certainly not as it had minor flaws. However, given its refreshing qualities and the type of day it was, I would seek this one out again, particularly on a hot day.

L - light yellow, frothy head that dissipates quickly.
S - light wheat and banana scent. Otherwise, not much.
T - a light wheat flavor with a surprisingly delicious watermelon aftertaste. tastes extremely natural and blends perfectly well with the beer. really quite a surprise.
F - light bodied, high carbonation, low ABV, and very refreshing.
O - I'm giving this beer the benefit of the doubt because it really exceeded my expectations in the taste category. A solid drinkable wheat beer for the summer, and the watermelon flavor is really tasty. Delicious and would have again.
