12 oz can into hardywood tulip. canned on 03/26/12.

A: hazy pale yellow. tiny carbonation bubbles can be seen lazily rising towards the surface. head is bright white and quickly dies to a rim of retention. no lacing.

S: lemon. watermelon. wheat.

T: watermelon jolly ranchers right off the bat. a lingering vanilla-like sweetness. finish is almost non-existent with maybe a tiny touch of sugary sweetness.

M: low/average carbonation on a very light body.

D: this would certainly make for some tasty outside summer drinking beer. i would also imagine that it works well with a watermelon summer salad. the watermelon flavor is neat, but wouldnt hate for some more body to back it.

Beer pours from the can into a Duvel glass a clear, bright yellow color with a 1 1/2" foamy white head that soon shrinks to a layer on the top of the liquid, leaving some circles, legs and patches of lacing. Sipping leaves small patches of lacing, but fairly soon the head is basically only a thin island on the surface that seems only to persist because of the effects of the nucleation points in the glass. Toward the end of the beer all the foam is gone.

The aromas include some noticable wheat with a bit of watermelon in the background.

The flavors are much as predicted from the nose except that in the flavors the watermelon is in charge and accompanied by some some light wheat and malt flavor. No detectable signs of hops.

The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium, crisp and initially has a good level of carbonation. The finish is pretty much the same as the rest of the taste with the watermelon persisting to the end when a bit of light bitterness emerges as the mouth feel turns dry but the carbonation is basically gone before the beer.

Overall this is ok for a one time experience but there are other beers I'd find more refreshing on a hot day and would prefer instead. So while this beer is not a disappointment, it's not something I'll buy again or trongly recommend to others.

A: Good looking beer. Cloudy yellow body with one finger head, little lacing.

S: Not much here. Wheat and some spice. I cannot detect any watermelon

T: Watermelon does come through, but tastes quite artificial. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It kind of tastes like watermelon candy. You can also taste the wheat, malt, and some pepper or spice.

M: Light body (could be a tad bit thicker), and a bit flat, imo.

O: Refreshing. Decent summer beer, but that's about it.

I was told that the Watermelon wheat is their most popular beer. Served in a hefe glass. The beer is a hazy dark straw color with a bone white head and awesome lacing.

The nose is of watermelon and wheat malts. Could be turned up a notch, but you know what your getting.

The beer leads with a bit of watermelon; some grains a hint of spice. It has a big watermelon finish.

The mouth is nicely slick. Nice hot weather beer, another killer crossover beer from this brewery.

Not my favorite style, but this is a strong showing with the uncommon fruit/wheat combo. Would recommend to anyone who likes this kind of beer or doesn't like beer but willing to try.

Nothing special going on here. It seems to me that they brewed it with the rind of the watermelon. It has a juicy yet bitter & drying body. Average but nothing to write home over.

Got this interesting brew from raiser in the New Trader BIF Redux!

Pours a nice cloudy lemon yellow color, decent sized white head fades somewhat quickly, leaves a handful of small patches of lace on the glass. Lots of wheat in the nose, some lemon, but really no trace of watermelon at all....until the first taste. Wow! That's some serious watermelon taste, sort of like a watermelon Jolly Rancher, tart citrus, slight grainy taste. Crisp and refreshing, slightly drying/puckering sweetness. Certainly something different for me, and while it's not something I'd want to drink all the time, I can see this being a good time at a summer BBQ.

12oz can $1.99 Hazy yellow color, looks murky with a pillowtop head. Smells faintly of watermelon and wheat. The flavor was heavy watermelon juice, so much so that it almost felt artificially flavored but I liked it anyway. For me this would be a good hot weather beer but not a session beer since I wouldn't want more than one.

Bought a can at the Beer Shop in East Longmeadow. The beer pours with a murky straw yellow appearance and a medium sized head that quickly dissipates into a thin ring around the glass. Nice aromas of wheat, bread, and a berry fruit smell. Taste is sour, lighter than I expected watermelon taste, mixed with a light grain texture. The mouthfeel took me awhile to enjoy. After a few sips, I really began to enjoy the beer's body; it is not too crisp, but its not watery or flat. Its a unique body that helps the beer be a refreshing. Overall, the beer grew on me, especially the mouthfeel. Could use a stronger watermelon presence, but overall, not too bad.

A interesting combination of wheat body and citrus flavors. I sampled at the tap room with a slice of watermelon. Like most wheat beers, the hop presence is mild and innocuous.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into my Harpoon IPA glass.

Beer pours a rather bland, hazy golden color (looks like a BMC) with a very thin and quickly fading layer of bright, white head.

Smell starts of like a pretty basic wheat based beer. At the tail end of the whiff, there is a faint hint of watermelon. Taste is similar. The beginning of the draw tastes like a pretty standard light summery beer. But towards the end of the sip, here comes the watermelon. It really seems to come up out of nowhere and adds a really fresh, fruity and refreshing dimension to the beer.

Mouthfeel is light and incredibly refreshing. I think the drinkability is very high. This is a very, light easy drinking beer. Would be great poolside or with the lawnmower. I like it.

A: poured a murky straw yellow in color with yellow highlights and a thin head leaving a little lacing sticking to the glass.

S: definitely was able to sniff out some watermelon notes with lots of sweetness I'm guessing is from the grains and wheat but slight citrus notes.

T: the watermelon character pretty much dominated the palate as well with juice like qualities but with more sweetness from the grains and wheat. Kind of reminded me of the watermelon bubblicious bubble gum.

M: the brew was medium in body with a fair amount of carbonation which had a watermelon fruity, sweet, grainy, mild citrusy finish.

D: overall it did drink real easy, not overly sweet and could really enjoy some of these on a hot summer day poolside. It was a decent fruit style beer.
