Can as an extra from numbeercruncher - thanks!! Poured into a cervoise.

Appearance: Pours a very slightly hazed golden yellow, a very traditional hefe-esque color, with a two-finger white head of average to perhaps - for the style - slightly above average retention. Leaves some nice splotches of runny, glittery, watery lacing. The carbonation is plentiful, well-distributed, relatively fine-bubbled, and very fast.

Aroma: A little simplistic, though largely pleasant. Plenty of lightly tart watermelon, pretty authentic, over a biscuity-smelling malt base. Strangely enough, I get hints of caramel and caramelized sugars out of this one, which seem a little off - at least in my mind. Not bad though.

Taste: A little tarter and fruitier than I'd like, with a few unpleasant "vegetal" notes. On the other hand, there's plenty of good stuff here - a sweet malt base with hints of roast peeking through and watermelon "pulp" notes that transition from sweet up front to tart in the finish, slightly juicy, slightly acidic.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and big-bubbled - result of all that effervescence in a relatively thin body - resulting in a puffy and uneven mouthfeel. It doesn't work too poorly with these flavors, though in most beers it would be really distracting.

Drinkability: An interesting brew. The watermelon definitely comes through on this one, adding both a few complex fruit sugars as well as a tart, slightly puckering note in the finish. It works decently well with the beer's base too, though the whole package just leaves a little to be desired, in my opinion. On the drinkable side, it's low in alcohol and solidly made. Perhaps a few tweaks with this one - adjusting the malt base to something a little solider and simpler, and modifying the watermelon addition somehow (I know this is difficult, haha) would make this one a really tasty fruit beer. Still glad I got a chance to try it. Plus, it's in a can - another bonus!

Poured from 12oz can into DFH pint glass. No canning date is present on the packaging. It is a seasonal release, so I am assuming it isn't that old. **Preface: Not my favorite style. Purchased for wife who likes wheats.

A: Pours a hazy yellow color. Pretty much no head at all. Carbonation is not great. Some lacing.

S: Mostly yeasty. Strange smells. When I really got in there I got some fruit (melon) smells but not as overpowering as I was expecting.

T: The flavor of this is strange. Really different. I get the watermelon but it's just kind of off putting actually. I really didn't like this at all and almost drain-poured the last 1/4 of it.

M: Very watery (thank god actually). Nothing that lingers with you.

O: I like 21st Amendment and most of their offerings, just not into this one. I bought a 6-pack and THANK GOD the wife likes it....she'll be drinking the rest of it alone!

Presentation: It was served on tap and poured into a pint glass. The beer menu listed the abv at 4.9%.

Appearance: The body has a hazy straw yellow color with light foamy head on top. It’s head fizzled out quickly.

Smell: The aroma is fairly light overall. It brings some light wheat malt and white bready maltiness to the nose. It also has nice natural watermelon notes as well as and mild mineral like character.

Taste / Palate: It’s lightly bodied and like it’s aroma it has light pale bready and wheat maltiness with a light sweetness and an equally balanced watermelon flavor. Again like it’s aroma it also has a slight mineral flavor note and just a very light herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Notes: This is definitely a hot summer day or lawn mower beer. It’s thin and light making it easy drinking and interesting. It like that the watermelon taste is natural and some candy like flavoring added to a light wheat beer.

A little less than a finger’s worth of gossamer white bubbles, not quite foam, dissipates to basically nothing across the surface, no lacing either. Hazy deep yellow colored liquid, holds light inside well, few bubbles, loosely aggregated, nothing leaps out at you visually. The nose is soft and gentle, wheat cereal, biscuit and, duh, sweet watermelon scents, you get lemon juice as well, ends with an earthy and herbal muskiness which is actually welcome for how it broadens the texture and creates contrast against the fruit. Medium-bodied with fluffy carbonation, has some residual prickle through the finish. The watermelon flavoring is not excessively strong, kind of floats through the mouth. There’s a metallic undercurrent more than wheat or bread, although there’s an adequate amount of the latter. Sour lemon to orange citrus brings added refreshing qualities. At times you might find a spoonful of molasses. Nothing here really distinguishes it but it’s unflawed, not entirely without appeal.

Nice surprise in my local store today.

Pours a nice almost clear pale yellow color with nice center of rising bubbles to white two finger head that falls rather quick. No lace to speak of.

Aroma is light wheaty malts with what i assume is watermelon along with some nice light hops lightly grassy variety, along with a touch of yeast notes perhaps.

Taste is well its go the crappy american wheat flavor down to a tee but the watermelon touch is nice not over powering seems just right. Some light hops in the finish grassy earthy notes mingle with little twang from the melon. Over all for a style that is usually just crap this one isn't that bad at all.

Mouthfeel is light with normal carbonation levels.

Drinkability is ok not something i would really repeat buy but fruit beers are not my thing but sure wouldn't turn one down on a hot day by the lake or pool.

If you like wheat beers and watermelon then this is your beer. Wheat beers are kinda gross and boring, IMO, but this wasn't terrible.

Pours hazy and yellow with a stream of bubbles rising to meet a fat white had of foam that leaves patchy lace as it falls. Nose is a nice wheat with a bit of sweetness on it. The watermelon is a touch of floral and almost a backnote on the nose. There is a bit of hop grass and it too is sweet. That is blending nicely with the flaked wheat. Taste is good. It's perky and has a thinner side of medium mouthfeel. You could even call it light. A crackery malt crispness , a nice malt dryness and a little bit of natural wheat sweetness. Nothing honey like or rich. The watermelon in the drink is light and floral but unmistakably watermelon and the hops grass meets a touch of spice to intrigue the palate a bit. The finish is balanced and there is a slight hop bitter and a light little aftertaste from malt. There is a juicy citric quality that does not meet any definition of a fruit and that keeps the beer balanced and tart in the drink.

I darn like it.

Poured into a pint glass on 7/21/10

Pale gold & hay colored. Haziness is apparent when held to the light; it actually casts a soapy sheen. White foam rose to 1/4th inch, though it fizzled out in an aggressive fashion. These bubbles appeared to hit the surface enraged. No head retention & no lace.

Ah, the aroma. Some toasted wheat notes are all I can tolerate. Something of a watermelon aroma, I guess; watered down juice. Maybe not quite stale, but well past it's prime (the watered down juice, that is). Imagine sticking your head in a garbage can with old watermelon rind in it. Some herbal, spicy overtones muddle it up even more. Ugh.

What a wretched tasting beer. Watermelon, huh? What a piss poor representation of it. All at once it tastes watered down, rotten, medicinal & tea-like. Wheat notes simply cannot compete with the awful flavor of whatever shoddy watermelon-type crap was used to brew this. I have a hard time imagining this wasn't aged on moldy tea leaves & rotten logs. It has a phantom garbage aftertaste to boot. This is vile.

Light body with very low carbonation; seemingly intent to let the flavors loiter. Never before have I encountered a 4.9% abv beer that has an even-so-slightly numbing sensation on the palate like this beer does. Musty, mold-addled undertones linger far too long.

Drinkability? This is the cud of the beer world. Never again.
