On tap at 21st.

A - Pours copper-gold, with 2 fingers of white head. Dissipates slow and leaves really nice lacing.

S - Caramel, citrus and pine. The hops are very resiny.

T - Honey, caramel, citrus, pine, and light bittering hops. Very well hop-rounded.

M - Full-bodied, hop dominated, and slightly dry.

D - Really good overall. A treat.

eyes...
2 full fingers of head rise up from da' can, hazy golden hue with a fair amount of carbonation shooting up towards the moon, lacing is particularly clingy, definitely a lighter hue than most DIPAs but that is just observation, not a knock, overall it looks real nice, the head is also hanging out at around half a finger for some moments now.. nice.

nose...
dry and bready malt, the hops are slightly herbal, almost reminds me of english hops like fuggle etc. the oak notes are in there, over all this is very subtle, interesting

taste etc...
juicy fruit ? the bitterness comes in at the end in a strange way, the body is medium light and spot on, the abv is well hidden, this just has a very strang taste for a DIPA... it has a sweetness that is slightly off, not sure what to make of this one, it isn't spit worthy but it is confounding to see what the brewer was going for.

verdict?
off for the style, should some latitude be allowed ? sure, but this travels even outside those lines, it iw worth trying just because it is markedly different from other DIPAs, maybe it is your bag baby ?

Picked up on a recent trip to Portland. Hop Crisis pours a hazy light gold with a nicely laced head. Tons of hops in the aroma, citrus, pine, grapefruit and a hint of oak. The 'C' hops dominate the flavore with more citrus and pine. There is a decent malt sweetness, very light, but plays its roll before the oak flavor dries out the finish. The resiny bitterness shares the finish with the nice light oakiness.

Pours a clear gold with a nice chunky head and sticky lacing.
Smells sweet and of caramel and grapefruit hops. The taste really matches the smell. There is a lot of caramel and lots of citrus hops. There's some grass and pine as well as some dark malt to lend some sweetness.
Feels smooth and creamy, not at all bitey or unpleasant on the palate. Nice carbonation level and a very smooth sipper.

21st Amendment Hop Crisis is a nice beer. It seems more like a strong ale than a DIPA.

A: Yellow colour with an excellent 1 cm head that last very well. 4.5

S: Strange bready aroma. I don't smell hops. Chlorine and.... fish? 2

T: Malty with some nice sweet bready flavour. Some brown sugar too. The maltiness is very nice and complex. The hops aren't strong, but it's still nice. 4

M: Foamy. 4

O: 4

Pours a pale orange to golden color with straw-like hues and a massive, foamy, off-white head that is very patient to dissipate as it leaves a dense, sticky lacing behind that clings to the top of the glass for the duration.

Great aromatics of citrus and pine hops including grapefruit, pineapple, pine, and grass. There is definitely a lot of fruit sweetness as well as some floral or perfume like hints as it warms.

Similar to the aroma, the palate is packed with pine and citrus hops featuring similar fruit notes, perhaps a touch more floral or herbal, and with more malt backbone to support all of these hops as well.

This imperial ipa has generous carbonation with a thick, oily body and a puckering finish.

As advertised, this ipa is packed with a nice hop punch and is a delight to the senses.

12oz can.

A- Pours a clean golden color with a huge foam head that leaves many rings of lace.

S- This is one fine smelling IIPA! Huge grapefruit and pine aroma with some floral and just a touch of sweetness. I could sniff this one for a long time.

T- Quite bitter upfront with a huge dose of alcohol in the finish. Very boozy (expected due to the near 10% ABV) with some pine needles and a slight catty flavor coming through. It says aged on oak spirals but I'm not getting that as much (maybe I'm mistaking that for pine needles).

M- Medium bodied with decent carbonation.

O- I think this might be the first IIPA i've had from a can. Cheers to 21st for a very solid IIPA that I can bring to BBQs :)
