Pours a HUGE, dense, white head is sticky with resin and laces as if there is no tomorrow. Warm, floral hops in the nose have a very nice citrus character that is muted (but in a good way). Turbid, straw color. Starts surprisingly hoppy with a MASSIVE Booziness and sweet malt dripping with assertive oak notes that dominate before it moves into a poignant, resiny, citrus rind hop bitterness. The bitterness here sits on the tongue, lingering. The finish becomes citrus rind with a slight sweetness from malt, with hints of wood hiding in the back. A nice, hefty mouthfeel.

Overall, not bad. I was really surprised how assertive and up-front the oak was in this one. The hoppiness is restrained enough to allow the oak and malt to hit in the front (with that booziness), and THEN the hops take over about the middle. Quality stuff. I'd heard a lot of good things about this brewery, and this didn't disappoint.

A – Pours a straw yellow color/hint of gold with 2+ fingers of near white head. This beer has fantastic retention and very near perfect lacing. Slow steady carbonation continuously rising from the bottom of the glass.

S – Some lighter sweet fruit aromas (pears) with a nice easy sweet malt aroma. Decent bitter, mildly resinous orange aroma. A little faint.

T – Surprising slightly resinous orange hoppy bite up front. The resinous hops are strong but I’m still getting a lot of malty caramel and fruity (pear) sweetness. Aftertaste is mostly sweet with a calm underlying slightly dry hop flavor.

M – Lightish bodied, decent carbonation, slightly thick on the palate but refreshing

O – Pretty solid overall. Nice balance of sweetness and hop bite, definitely more sweet though.

Poured a clear pale golden color. A fluffy two finger off white head sat on top. Aroma of sweet malts and vanilla oak. Still it has nice earthy tones from the cascade and Simone, some citrus and bright fruits. Taste is sweet, lots of roasted malts and some orange peel. Smooth vanilla-like flavors from the oak, followed by an unexpected hop aftertaste. The bitterness lingers like grapefruit and resinous pine.

Can > Pint Glass

A - Pours out a nice gold, thick foamy two finger white head, medium lacing.
S - Orange juice, white grapes, some sweeter candy kinda malt, a little dankness from the hops.
T - Lots of juicy hop flavor that fades to a nice bite with some sweet malt, a little like cherries.
M - Cloyingly sweet, but not boozy for 9.7
O - Best thing Ive had from 21st, and the only thing I'd get again from them as well.
