Oak spirals? What are those? Is that like an oak slinky?

As is usually the case, the wood kind of sucks some life out of the ipa-ness of things here. Gets muddled. The hop character does seem to show better than I recall from the last time I had it. A nice drinker. Don't think I'll go for this again. (That's twice now. Which is damn near a record for me.)

A-dark gold with a fairly thick and foamy white head

S-sweet sugary hops. Slightly herbal but not too much. Good strength

T-sweet and boozey. The hop resins really coat the tongue. The overall taste is only a muted flavor of how it smells. It has quite a bite.the after-taste is matching.

M-medium creamy caronbation with a dry finish.

O-has quite a bitter kick to it. This hit me by surprise. The flavor itself is okay but it's definitely something to check out if you're in to hops.

Canned on date of 06/07/13

Appearance - Pours a hazy golden orange with an off-white finger's worth of head. Fair retention, resulting in a thin layer of suds. Lacing is thin and racy, with fair stick.

Smell - Juicy citrus/tropical aroma, backed by lesser notes of bread and sweet, woody oak notes.

Taste - Follows the nose. Pineapple, orange, grapefruit, cut by the sweet and woody oak character. Traces of caramel. Light to moderate orange pith bitterness and some alcohol heat in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Full body with moderate carbonation. Almost syrupy. A little rough around the edges.

Overall - A really nice DIPA from 21A. One of the few beers in their line-up I find rather enjoyable. A little thick in body, but an inviting flavor makes that rather moot. If you find it, buy it.
