Pours a beautiful crystal clear straw with three fingers solid white that slowly settles to a tight little cap, champagne carbonation in the glass. Herbal grassy nose. Flavor is fairly crisp, cracker malt, pepper and spicy hops. A good cheap (well, if you're in Germany) 'green bottle beer'. It is a little too sloppy and grassy/skunky to really pop for me but it is a well-made beer nonetheless. All the characteristics of a great pils are there, it could be a little cleaner and a touch more biting, but is otherwise quite tasty. This is one of the first beers I had when I visited Germany for the first time and my mind exploded so regardless of any room for improvement, it will always hold a special place in my heart. I like it in a can. The only way it would be better would be if I was in a park or on a train or eating currywurst or something.

Best German Pilsener imho. Lots of bitterness and hops.

Bought a bottle of Samichlaus, which I hated. Luckily I had a bottle of Jever to drink, after throwing out the disgusting Samichlaus. I always drink Jever when in Hamburg. Hoppy, refreshing and a joy to drink. Love the dark green bottle and aroma. Strong and satisfying.

On tap. Transparent gold. Aroma malt and hop. Mildly sweet dark biscuit malt. Definite hop presence. Plain and simple bitter beer. No sweetness on the bitter I guess is what I'm trying to say. Very crisp and dry with a lingering bitterness. Lots of hop in this one. They say brewed with ancient well water-okay then. Really a delicious Pilsner with an aggressive hop presence.

Light gold with pale white head. Smells of smoke and yeast. Sharp grassy and smokey flavor followed by solid malts. Medium carbonation and generally light body. Overall, a very well done pilsner.

Jever has a thick, frothy, white head, a clear, golden appearance, some very fine suspended sediment, and a little bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of faint malt sweetness, and the flavor is of sharp, strong, grassy hop bitterness, with a background cracker malt. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Jever finishes crisp and refreshing.

BBD 11/16. Clear golden pour. Outstanding head volume, very good lacing and quite outstanding retention.

Outstanding nose of light airy grassy hops with a touch of herbal thrown in. Underneath is a grainy note that is not quite cracker biscuit.

Heavy light body that is very smooth with just a slight oiliness. World class carbonation / body balance. Middle effervescence is moderate and the finish is prickly...just the right balance.

The flavor profile is very good but lacks a touch of sweetness for complexity, contrast and balance. Bitterness is mild. Hop flavor consists of grassy up front then shifts to herbal in the middle. Herbal flavor flows through the finish and lingers along with a residual bitterness.

Having a dear friend from East Frisia, this beer finds its way into my rotation more often than most. While I am not a huge fan of the style, I have grown quite fond of Jever.

This nose is nice, light, and effervescent. All the notes you'd expect from a pilsner. The taste follows suit and maintains a playful existence on your palate. Finish is nice and crisp. Great for drinking all day on a North German beach.

Essentially Heineken with a little more flavor....not bad but nothing too wild.
