Haven't reviewed a beer in years--figured it's time to get back on the train! Got this from Hop City Krog Street and poured into my Duvel tulip glass.

Look: Deep old gold body. Leaning to the orange-gold side. Nice egg-white head retained throughout drinking; initial pour was over 2 fingers of head now it's receded to about a centimeter. Solid web-like lacing on glass.

Smell: Lemongrass, candied lemon. Some grass clippings and funk.

Taste: Aspirin-y lemon and grass. The funk you smell from the inside of a barn after it rains. Some white pepper notes mid sip. Yeasty pear as the beer warms up. Some slight tannins on the back end, but it isn't tart.

Feel: Light-medium bodied. Very drinkable on a hot day.

Overall: A flat out awesome saison. I'm glad this is back in GA. Very complex yet approachable at the same time. There are many layers to this beer once you get past the initial lemongrass/citrus smell and initial taste. I want to cellar one and see how much funkier it can get. Great stuff.

Brought this bottle back from a trip to Europe. Capped and corked. The funky/cat piss aroma was evident upon opening even before I poured. Cloudy (I let the beer sit for ten days before opening) but with a great head and lacing. Dry, dry finish. Maybe the funkiest of all saisons I have ever had.

L: Pours a hazy light orange-yellow color, almost a little bit like grapefruit juice. Pours a white creamy head that dissipates a little quickly but leaves a small bit of lacing on top.

S: Notes of white wine grapes, peach, and some light tropical orange, nice sweet cereal malt in the background and some notes of spice from the hops and yeast. A very subtle aroma with lots of complexity.

T: White wine grapes, with notes of peach and some light orange, a nice sweet cereal malt, balanced out by a slight bitterness from the floral and spicy hops and some notes of the Belgian yeast, while I like the aroma a little better, this is still a very nice Saison.

F: Medium-light body, with some higher carbonation.

O: This is a very subtle beer with the flavors but it is a very good Saison.

It has a lot of brett smells in it with some floral, fruity and spicy notes. The taste is a lot on the peach and the orange. It's also floral with edelflower and spicy with some nutmeg and cinnamon but no pepper. Dry mouthfeel but never acidic nor astringent. Overall it's a perfectly balanced and crafted saison. Quite complex.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 2018. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, apricot, strawberry, pineapple, pear, apple, white pepper, clove, citrus peel, hay, straw, floral, herbal, grass, funk, wheat, honey, cracker, bread, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, apricot, strawberry, pineapple, pear, apple, white pepper, clove, citrus peel, hay, straw, floral, herbal, grass, funk, wheat, honey, cracker, bread, and yeast earthiness. Moderate yeast spiciness and light tart/tangy fruitiness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, apricot, strawberry, pineapple, pear, apple, white pepper, clove, citrus peel, hay, straw, floral, herbal, grass, funk, wheat, honey, cracker, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from tart/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a fantastic saison. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the balanced tart/spiciness. Amazing yeast complexity and balancing malt character; while still remaining nicely drying, spicy, tart, and funky; despite having modest carbonation for the style. A highly enjoyable offering all around.
