Bottle. Not pop or hiss. No head. Dark brown, black color. Thick.

Burnt and charred barrel. Heavy barrel flavor. Tastes more like a stout than a saison. Not even sure what the style of this is supposed to be. Peat and smoke. Fudge. Oak. Has a red wine tannin thing going on. Roasted finish. Very unique Fantome offering. I don’t think this one is 16%, but I could be wrong. Fairly enjoyable.

Bottle pour into a taster glass.
L: dark brown with very little beige head.
S: apple, prune, cocoa, molasses, brandy, muted oak
T: follows the nose, plus port wine, sweet finish
F: full body, smooth, pleasingly light carbonation
O: drinks more like a stout or strong ale, lovely!
