750ml bottle poured into a pair of Fantome tulips. The brew appears a hazy copper color with a khaki froth thats 4+ fingers strong filling the entire glass with suds abd patchy lace as it fades.

The aroma is a little soapy with some tangy fruit elements, contrasting bready to biscuit grains and some herbal hops.

The taste is like spicy ginger, caramel, toffee and somewhat fruity with solvent alcohol. It is strangely herbal and bitter with a zest like lime/lemon also present.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is certainly interesting but doubt I would seek this out again.

Bottle grabbed in Bruges and poured back home in Florida. Big gusher here. Pours murky brown with a one finger off white and creamy head. Funky spice aroma, characteristic Fantome yeast, just a hint of bandaid but not bad at all, sweet notes of honey, some grass, lots if barnyard. Flavor is very sweet, honey, caramel, light spices, big funky barnyard notes as expected. Medium plus palate with low to medium carbonation. Ugly ass beer but tastes pretty good to me. Not sure why everyone is so low on this one. Lots of flavor, nice spice bite, grass, sweetness. What’s not to like? The ugly look knocks down the overall on my score, but don’t take that as a negative on this beer.

Oh. Now as this settles it becomes a bit phenolic and burns my tongue a bit. Hmmmm. That’s weird.

Bottle from Etre Gourmet. Served in a Fantôme tulip at Kan's place.

A - White foam settles to a thin collar, leaving behind wispy splotches on top and minimal lacing. Hazy ambery body that is a tad darker than your typical Fantôme.

S - Aggressive, sharp, continental hopping, with loads of pine, herbs, and earthiness. The usual Fantôme yeast character is really dialed down here, and the candi sugar dominates the malt bill. The aroma is kind of rough and the combination of flavors doesn't totally work.

T - Sweet malts, lots of candi sugar sweetness, red fruits, and very low yeast character. More of a Belgian Strong Pale than a Saison; might have to change the listed style here, because I can't find any information either way. Hop character isn't as present in the taste, but instead manifests as potent bitterness.

M - Zesty carbonation, medium-full body, with a dry finish and some lingering oily hops. A bit of alcohol warmth; 8% is definitely accurate in this case.

D - A very weird mix of flavors and not particularly successful. I'm glad that this doesn't have the smokey yeast flavor that has plagued other Fantôme products recently, but it still isn't very compelling. Disappointing relative to some of the previous beers in the Santé series.

Santé 1-19 vertical.

Super hazy yellowish orange body with a quarter inch of off-white head. Aromas of banana, malt, sweet fruit dessert. Lemon meringue and banana dessert. A Fantôme hefeweizen hybrid. Medium sweetness.
