L- Pours a very dark opaque, almost brown/golden beer with barely any head. A bit dirty looking.
S- I get phenol notes, spicy and herbal notes, sweet cinnamon notes, and yeast notes. Slight dark fruit aromas, and earthy aromas.
T- Not so much here, but still very pleasant. Slight phenol and spicy notes, as well as some dark fruit. Tart, bitter and earthy flavors come in as well. Very minimal.
F- Lighter bodied then expected. Decent carbonation.
O- Very pleasant/minimal farmhouse ale. Give it a try.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly hazy golden/orange/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, citrus zest, white pepper, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, citrus zest, white pepper, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness, herbal/floral/grassy bitterness, and slight yeast tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, citrus zest, white pepper, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, white bread dough, light honey/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is an excellent saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Probably older than preferred here, but this still tastes great. Classic saison yeast complexity, balanced malts, and nice earthy hop presence. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a hazy medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing, looks nice. Aroma of grainy, husky malt with light mineral content, saison yeast, apple and pear, a hint of orange. Flavor is slightly sweet grainy malt with some husk bitterness, apple, pear, orange and mild light stone fruit. Finishes with mixed grain, a hint of caramel, grapefruit rind and light hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp, peppery carbonation, great mouth feel. A really flavorful, grainy, complex fruit saison with an excellent body and carbonation. I wonder if this particular one has variable quality problems, because this seems to get reviews all over the map. If so, I got a great bottle. This was a pleasant surprise because, although brand fresh new to our market area, this is a year old bottle (thanks Shelton Bros!) with good, but not stellar reviews. I like this a lot, it looks, feels and tastes good. Pretty much hits all the notes I like in a saison. Very full flavored for the moderate ABV. A very good farmhouse that makes me think that if field workers really got something this flavorful for a daily farm house beer, they were lucky indeed. I've liked just about everything I've had from De Ranke and wish they were not so rare on the market in my area.

Look is translucent gold with a small head, with good retention though. Some lacing. Smell is Belgian yeast, some hops and some typical Belgian spice. Taste is similar to the nose, but I found the yeast comes forward then a peppery aapect, and ends with a hoppy bitter finish. Feel is medium body with good carbonation.

An interesting saison, loved the traditional Belgian aspects, but the hops were a little off putting for the style.

Hazy orange beer, 2-finger white head, low retention.
Smell - yeast esters, yellow fruits.
Taste - moderate bitterness, herbal hops, utterly dry, slightly astringent.
Light body, good carbonation.
Disappointing.
