Poured into a pint glass: nice light tan head, lightly fluffy, no clinging an dissipated to a ring. Color is translucent brown, to a dark copper/amber.
Smell is very feint chocolate/caramel malt, but so thin.
Taste is a bit more than the nose in terms of hint more chocolate flavor with hints of grains and oats but very thin, only hop flavor is enough to slightly balance hops.
Mouthfeel is balanced, with a slight lingering sweetness.
Overall a bit thin on flavor and smell for a brown, just a touch more in the nose and taste would boost it as it is a very clean beer.

Poured into a glass mug, the appearance was a rugged dark brown color with a finger's worth of off white foamy head. Mild lace, sliding for the most part.
The aroma had a wonderful blend of sweet roasted nuts, caramel/toffee malts, biscuity goodness, earthy spices and a touch of crisp Autumn leaves.
The flavor meshes the prior mentioned aromas sweetly together to leave a crisp semi-toasty and sweet aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation and ABV felt on par. Finish was toasty and sweet.
Overall, one of my first English brown ales I've had and am always willing to come back to this time of year.

12 oz. bottle poured into a standard pint.
Appearance: Pours a clear brown with a one-finger off-white head.
Aroma: Has a nutty, caramel-accented aroma.
Taste: Taste follows the nose, with some cherries and fruitiness in the background. A little bit of bread crust is in there, too. Slightly sweet on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Somewhat light of body for the style.
Overall: Nice little mild brown ale. Decent companion for a bowl of hot soup on a cold night.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Brown with a thin off white head. No lacing on the glass.
Smell: Mild malts and nutty.
Mouthfeel/Taste: Rough medium bodied. Taste of a typical brown, nutty with malts mild hop bitterness.
Overall: Not horrible but I have had better. What I expected from a Gritty's beer.
