Poured this beer into a pint glass at 43 degrees.

Appearance: A nice rocky off white two finger head that some retention. The color of the beer is a rich mahogany with dark cooper hues. The clarity of the beer is clear with garnet highlights. There is some lacing on the glass from the slowly diminishing head.

Nose: The malt is a nice mellow caramel aroma. There is a medium hop characters. The hops are floral and slightly fruity.

Taste: The malt has a rich caramel flavor with some toasty notes. The hops is floral and citrus In the background of the beer there is a wood character, sweetnes, and a hint of a burnt note.

Overall: The mouth feel is carbonated and smooth. The body of the beer is medium and the finish is medium. This is a really good beer. It has all the good qualities of an amber ale but it is a bit rough around the edges.

06/20/08- Consumed during my two week Montana vacation.

Presentation- 22oz bottle with no freshness info. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

Appearance- Medium amber-brown colored pour with a full one inch head with slight staying power. Leaves a decent lace design on the glass after consumption.

Smell- Very bready, with a slight hop aroma and a small caramel nose.

Taste- Bready, mildly yeasty with a light roasted caramel base. Hops are about even with the malt. Not takes over. Even flavors all around.

Mouthfeel- Higher carbonation level with a nice drying and hoppy aftertaste.

Drinkability- Well balanced and better than average flavored amber ale worth trying.
