Unsure of others definition of Biere de Garde but this is a true definition. An almost Belgian ale with fruity aroma and a sweet carmel taste. Little head on the pour but nice amber color. No spice or hops present. A smooth mouth and nice finish and aftertaste.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy burnt orange color with a limited head that is more of a ringlet than anything else though it leaves many dots of lacing

Smell: Apple sauce, honey and a whiff of butterscotch

Taste: Butterscotch and apple sauce, up front, with an herbaceous element that builds in the middle; raisiny sweetness lingers in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Not sure exactly what the brewer was going for here but, as others said, it really doesn't fit the classic biere de garde profile; still, it is not a bad beer, it is just that the sweetness cuts the drinkability
