12 oz bottle into nonic

a: Dusty brown color, massive pillow of light tan head, crisp looking carbonation

s: molasses, gingerbread, cocoa

t: sweet brown bread, caramel apple, a bit of citrus rind bitterness, chocolate, ends very sweet

m: luciously creamy, which becomes a bit much over the course of the bottle. i'd have preferred a bit more carbonation bite

O: it's a nice beer though I think it could have gone darker and more bitter. i would love to try this with a bit of a rye kick.

Near black, decent head, nice lacing.

Malty, with a toasted note.

Very roasty, bit of a porter quality, coffee, bread, earthiness, clean finish.

Smooth and light mouthfeel.

I enjoyed this. Nothing overly complicated, but clean and fairly bold for the style.

12oz bottle 'born on' 3rd week of April.

Look is a dark brown-amber, almost black. Smell is cocoa powder, red malt, and coffee beans. Starts dry and sweet, with hints of dark fruit. Malty, with a touch of earthy hops, but mostly its cocoa powder, especially in the dry finish.

Tasty stuff.
