Hello fruity dendron! I've been harping on and against Lakefront for putting out generic corporate beers at times but this one is a bit brilliant. Sweet and potent and nothing bland about it. No aftertaste or spasms in my throat from this caffeine of candies. I generally dislike the amber brews but this one feeds me heartily my daily dose of sweet and moxie. I doubt I could drink more than one in a sitting but with a festive mud companion this one more than makes it a happy match of spirits.

Poured cloudy, with a harvest-yellow haze; appearing unfiltered, almost like a hefeweizen. Initial taste is of pepper bubble gum; then, robust malt with a tangy edge and a smooth, full mouthfeel. Well-balanced, overall. Unique pilsener, and a great find!

Dark gold, sparkly. Large white head, great lacing.

Smells of rich pilsener grain, flowers, weeds, and hops. Very dense, heavy, multi-layered smell.

Starts off with bitter weed malt, moving into a rich floral middle and ending on a bittersweet lingering hop. Nice, crisp, and refreshing.

This is everything an American pilsener should be.

served in pint glass.

A - clear golden color with modest white head of medium duration.

T - Dominant flavor is a lightly toasted malt. Subtle hops. Baked grains.

Very smooth, soft and tasty pilsner. Not complex or bold but, given that, has a particularly appealing and refreshing finish. Lacks the dryness and bite of a typical pilsner, but I ignored this while rating and enjoying this brew.

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle into a pilsner glass. This beer is a fairly clear, light to medium gold color. White head was about 2/3 inch or so from what I remember when poured. It didn't stick around too long. not too much going on here aroma wise, a sort of light, grainy aroma with hints of malt and hops. Has a nice, fairly sweet grain and malt taste followed by mild hop bitterness, just like a beer like this should taste! Not very complex flavors, but quite enjoyable. Has a crisp mouthfeel. Medium body with moderate to high carbonation. Very easy to drink. Damn fine representation of this style.

Appearance- Pours an awesome spritzy and puffy head. The best head retention and lacing I've seen in all the German Pilsners I've tried thus far.

Smell- This is not your normal pils, Sharp hints of twigs and grass with some tartness that reminds me of Fantome Saison.

Taste- Pretty oddball. Sweet even for a pils. But that is what made this beer such a standout beer. The noraml natural, earthy pop, but a bittersweet tartness that I can only describe with vagueries.

It poured a hazy/frosted pale yellow. It had a one finger head that quickly shrank down to about an eigth of an inch. A medium amount of activity could be seen rising from the bottom of the Pilsner glass.

It smelled slightly of malt but more of hops. A bit spicey but mellow enough to enjoy.

Malty and hoppy with a nice malt finish. It was like alternating the flavors of the beer. A light to medium body that is crisp.

Very drinkable and refreshing.

Klisch: This is one terrific pilsner beer from Lakefront brewing company. The appearance is a deep gold color, with very nice clarity. The head was unimpressive though, with a mere bit of lacing down the side. The aroma is smooth and very clean. The taste, as already noted, but worth repeating, is very nice. Sweet light malts are the dominant taste, with slight cracker like aftertaste. Very light hop taste as well. This is very light in body and exceptionally easy to drink. Look for this, because it will make your day after a hot afternoon working in the yard.

This beer was the first I had on-tap at the brewery just before a tour of the facilities.

The beer poured nicely from the tap, with a not-too-dense head, but had a good amount of CO2 throughout. The color was a darker golden color than most basic pilseners, and I enjoyed that difference.

The smell brought in a nice aroma of flowery (Hallertau?) hops. The initial taste was of subdued maltiness, but with a pleasant hop bitterness (Saaz?). Kind of a light body, but thoroughly refreshing. The finish was good, and it beckoned the tongue for more! Quite a drinkable beer--definitely one for a warm summer day.

This is a very enjoyable, crisp lager but more of a classic, good American-style lager than a German Pilsner since it really is not very hoppy and is lighter in body.

Golden, it has a meadium white head that shrinks quickly to a small, lasting top and leaves some lace in rings.

The aroma is pleasant grain with hints of herbs and pine sap.

The taste is a light but very nice golden lager, smooth and clean yet tasty with apple, hints of grain, grass, and pine. The grain becomes more promiment in the finish. It is lightly sweet and bitter. It becomes slightly more bland and mineral-water like near the end but still retains decent flavour and body.

A: Slightly hazed out light pale gold in color. Forms an enormously large head, so much so that I could only get a third of the bottle into the glass at one time. Great retention as well that leaves globs of lace on the way down, while a very heavy shower of carbonation bubbles races upwards.

S: Slightly sweet malt and a huge hit of grassy noble hops.

T: Much like the aroma. Sweetish malt base with lots of grassy hops and an almost Belgian yeast funkiness. Interesting blend which I really enjoyed.

M: Lighter body that had been aggressively carbonated. Bubbles seem to dance on the tongue.

O: A light, refreshing, yet flavorful beer. Considering the other reviews, I wonder if my bottle was mislabeled!

Klisch sounds like something you might hear in a bathroom or while gutting a fish, unless I'm pronouncing it all wrong.

Quality golden Pils holds a varigated froth if poured hard. Minor nose carries hints of crackers and lawn jelly. I like how the liquid will attack the back of your mouth initially, then flow out in all directions with layers of toast and copper. A fine lager that would be welcome in my fridge anyday.

All malt, hopped with Saaz. Part of an assorted 8 pack sampler from Lakefront, all of which I've liked so far.

Pours out to a hazy light golden with orange accents...kinda wierd for a pilsner which should be sparkling clear and pale golden. Carbonation is mild to moderate, also different for the style. Forms a large soapy white head with good retention and very good lacing, receding to a nice sheet of pancake-like clusters of bubbles on the surface. The aroma is also kinda odd for the style, but still quite good...dry overall, floral hops, pale malts with hints of kiwi and grain husk. Mouthfeel is wonderful for the style...crisp, wet and fresh with a punchy finish. The taste is an echo of the aroma...kiwi is in there as well as mild grain husk...the floral hops are spicy and the bitterness is moderate. Touches of citric hop crop up as well, giving this an American touch. Moderately astringent but crisp in the finish with a lingering husky sweetness. Cleanly fermented, alcohol is imperceptable.

This doesn't look or smell like a Euro-pils (much closer to a craft brewed American pils), but the mouthfeel is nailed and compares to the fresh pils I had on tap in Europe. This is very refreshing and would make a great summer beer if it were available in my area. Very nice stuff.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: pours a 1" off white head that falls slowly with some mild lacing. Color is a cloudy golden with abundant streaming carbonation.

Aroma: pleasant yeasty bread dough combined with some tart hop spice.

Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied and slick with a quick, dry finish.

Flavor: saltine cracker, biscuit, some fruity sweetness, spruce and grassy hops.

Overall: a delicious beer, quite appropriate to the style.

Bright, smoggy golden. A good amount of chill haze. While not as clear as it could be, it throws an impressive white, creamy head with gobs of sticky lace.
Solidly balanced aroma of bready malt and spicy saaz hops. A nice prelude to what is in store.
Starts off with fresh baked sourdough notes. Becomes dryer and more cracker-like. The hops enter at this point and wipe the mouth clean of any residual breadiness with some divinely prickly, spicy hops. Not hugely intense, but effective and tasty. Leaves a slightly dusty aftertaste.
Medium bodied with full carbonation. Pretty substancial for a pils. The relative heft may hinder the drinkability to a small extent, but makes it more memorable.
Very solid per the style.
