Dirty red-orange amber brew with a beige head. Looks chewy through all of the murk. Not a bad look for what I hope to be a pronouncingly hoppy red ale.

Earthy and citrusy hops co-mingle and evaporate into the nose above sweltering toasted malts. Despite the mere gentle roast, there is an attractive aroma of char in the beer. Top soil minerality ebbs and flows, but the balance created here is precise.

Sharp beginning with spicy earthy hops and notes of grapefruit pith and orange rind. Very dank, but semi-dry. Toasty roast gets a lot of attention as it passes across the palate like bitter grit. Flowery tea infusion notes are interesting, but somewhat harsh in position. There's a clunky alcohol presence that kind be tasted. Finishes with spicy bitterness and a second burst of carbonation. This beer is quite airy and of the crushing kind. The body travels at a medium speed, but features all kinds of texture. Drinkability is about a C+ to a B-. Fixed Gear is not a red ale I'd scoff at, nor one that I would recommend.

Poured into an IPA glass.

Look: Murky, hazy rust color. A cream colored head recedes to a thick film, nice foamy bands of lacing stick to the glass.

Aroma: A subtle mix of caramel, cedar, and hops.

Taste: A dry spiced wood note holds up a lot of the body, There's a good malt presence with some caramel notes as well as bitterness in a hoppy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, feels lighter than the ABV suggests.

Overall: I like this beer more and more with each subsequent sip. Well balanced with lots of flavor.

A:Hazy with a light reddish brown color.
S: very balanced, aromas of malts and hops intertwind.
T: More hoppy than malty but the hoppiness is sweet , with a subtle bitterness.
O.a: this is a good example of a red ale, very easy to drink and balalnced
