Just noticed this in the fridge at the local store, must be at least 6 months old by now.
A- Poured from the 12oz bottle into an oversized tulip with a pitch black, super thick and oily looking body. Dark mocha colored cap forms on the beer to about one finger high with decent retention. Frothy ring around the beer leaves some nice legs but spotty lace at best.
S- Dark roasty cocoa and fruit forward. The fruit must come from both the yeast and additions they make of a "cherry puree," it reminds of me a mix of cherry and raisin. The dark roast aspect comes from some strong roast grains as well as a cocoa note behind that.
T- Cherry flavor comes to be more prevalent here, especially with more sips and warmth. It tastes like real fruit and not artificial or medicinal. The backbone of the beer is of course the big dark roast grain profile with a slightly burnt, coffee, cocoa and nutty feel. They add cocoa nibs but it is not over the top and blends in with the malts.
MF- Super big and rich body with medium-light carbonation. Smooth and creamy, oily feel with some slight alcohol warming. Fairly bitter in the finish.
Smooth and enjoyable roasty base Imperial Stout with a pretty nice fruit flavor throughout.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.
Black color.
Dark khaki head; strong lace.
Brandy & dark chocolate nose.
Thick mouthfeel.
Chocolate, both milk & dark, open; a hint of chalk & dark fruit on the finish. As it warms, tart cherry meets milk chocolate. Complex & delicious.

I do not recall who extra'd this to me, but thank you. Poured the usual black SRM. Tan head around 1/2" in depth. Solid roastiness, this is a non adjunct IS for sure I was thinking, no candy treatment here, just deep roasting.
Taste, hides alcohol well, has that roast right in check where it isn't getting overly bitter or acrid. Nothing sweet. Just some mild chocolate malt and coffee malt feels, straight forward and straight up. Despite all the barrel aging and vanilla, cherry stuff, it just didn't come through. The cherry didn't, the vanilla didn't, the bourbon didn't and the cocao nibs didn't.
I mean, they went super minimal I guess on that stuff. The base beer was very good, needs more help though with the adjunct type of stuff.
