Overflowing with uplifting hop aroma and resinous, citrus goodness, our big, bad-ass Boss Hog 2XIPA delivers a crisp, clean, full-bodied palette that showcases its notable hoppiness, leaving you no choice but to enjoy another sip of this menacing brew.

DATE: September 8, 2017... OCCASION: the night before Soccer Season 2017 begins... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... pours a nice dark amber body that sports bubbles, though one must strain his eyes to find them, dense as it is... the head is white, thick, clumpy, and uneven, while the lacing arcs, creamy and staying... the first breath is pure resin, thick caramel, apple, rum, and stone fruit... a creamy body that lights a fire of sorts, with a dry, thick, lingering finish that coats the throat... a thick, almost molasses-like draw makes for a sippable brew... the caramel pushes the profile, with the resin and fruitiness a secondary flavor... apricot, orange float in... this boozy, swagging DIPA is more balanced than many I have had, with enough puckering citrus to tantalize for the next sip... picked up as a singleton from a build-your-own, this offers a bourbon-like sweetness, rewarding the slow draw with some band-aid Islay scotch aroma as well... almost better than the sum of its parts... I would revisit this again, and enjoy that Lancaster attempted to balance this, even at 9.3% ABV...
