Great place. This bar is the home of many well know indie bands which is why i go there. The atmosphere is great, usually filling up by 10 or 11 for the show. Usually a younger audience. The selection is not the best. The good stuff is too expensive so i have to settle for the 2 dollar pabst. The service is friendly though. Oh, and they have chips! I can't stand bars that don't have some kind of food to make their shit selection of beer more tolerable. In a not horrible neighborhood. Not very occupied, but not horrible.

The reason anyone should be at Mohawk Place is to see bands perform live, typically bands most people have no idea even exist but will rock your night. The only reason to go to the bar would be the $2 PBR's and Jack & cokes in 16oz. plastic cups for less than $4. I really don't know what is on tap most likely Canadian and US macros and the bottle selection will be no better. My favorite place that smells like a hockey rink locker room that isn't in a rink but has been at times just as cold, in the summer it can get very hot and sweaty and have seen numerous band members in little to no clothing due to this fact. Crowd is generally indie/metal heads depending on the band, highest concentration of dudes with beard ever has been seen here as well...

I saw that only one person has reviewed the Mohawk and it has bothered me for a long time so I decided to sit down and write my own review of this place. I don't want anyone who visits our fair City to think that this might be a cool place to go unless they truly know what they are in for.

This is not a beer bar. Period. Frankly, I am kinda surprised that they actually sell beer here. The only existence for this place is so that indi-rock/punk/underground garage bands can have a place to play their live music. They serve crappy beer. It stinks. It's dirty. It is open weird hours. It is not a beer bar. Enter at your own risk!

I have enjoyed the shows and I have actually seen a quite few here over the years. Plus you can sometimes get free chips. But it is not a beer bar! You go there for music, not beer. Don't confuse the masses!!
