Poured into a Victoria tumbler glass.

Look: Clear golden body with a white head that dissipates completely and leaves no lacing.

Aroma: Sweet on the nose with light grassiness and grains.

Taste: Clean, slightly sweet and metallic.

Mouthfeel: Light, goes down easy.

Overall: Judging this from a snobby glass makes it much less enjoyable than it actually is. Out of the bottle on a Mexican beach, this beer is fantastic. Not so much under my craft snobbery eye.

L: Straw gold color with a very small fizzy head and no lacing.

S: Corn, some grain, a mineral note.

T: Very little flavor, some corn grain, a slight apple.

F: Light Crisp, highly carbonated.

O: All these light lagers taste the same.

I'm not even joking, we were paying $14 for these tallboys at the Its Not Dead fest in October '15.

Straw yellow macro stuff, thin white head, vanishes. Aroma of corn, grain, no hopping, barley evident here.

Taste, relatively innocuous fizzy yellow vibes. Light body. Pale malts, noble hops. Plenty of water in here. You've had this beer in a hundred different iterations. Its macro AAL, end of story.

L: Drank from a duece can ...looked like usual adjunct
S: Usual adjunct
T: suprisingly not bad! Still adjunct, but no seriously off-putting tastes for a cheap brew.
F: Better carbonation and mouthfeel than most adjuncts

Overall: I like this the best out of all the Mexican beers available. Probably on par with a Dos Equis.

My (usually) local, in-person trader, tone77, dropped this off for me in furtherance of The CANQuest (tm). He flew his snowbird self south for the winter, but I will still raise a toast to him. Prosit!

From the CAN (translated from Spanish): "Made In Mexico"; "Clear Beer"; "From (Est.) 1900"; "With
Mexi[CAN] Pride".

The tab actually put up a little bit of a fight on the Crack!, but this is known to happen with these big 24-fl. oz. CANs. Once I got it open, I knew that I could only CANduct a moderate Glug since anything else would be too much to deal with. This brought forth two fingers of fizzy, bone-white head with low retention. Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-plus quality clarity, allowing me to see into the future when I am glad that I got the snow off of the roof before it rains tomorrow. Nose smelled mainly of honey & grass, kind of like being in the countryside during the summer. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium. The taste was oddly berry-like, but not at all unpleasant. I began to get more grassiness as it warmed, but the berry flavor lingered. Finish was semi-dry, certainly a Lager, but I am not sure about it being a Czech Pilsener. I am also not sure precisely how to rate it as a result. If I were to rate to style, it is going to get low marks, but higher if I go simply by my taste. We used to be advised on this, but no more, I guess. Let's just say that it was a decent, adjunct-free Lager and leave it at that.

Pours a clear, gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong pale malt, wheat, slight adjunct, hint of Euro yeast, and a hint of hop. Fits the style of a Czech Pilsner. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong pale malt, slight adjunct, hint of sweet malt, hint of hops, and a hint of Euro yeast. Overall, average at best; weak appearance and lower quality body and aroma.

24oz can into imperial pint glass.

A: Pours a clear light golden color with a thin quarter inch of fizzy bright white head that faded into a foamy film and collar. A couple patches of wispy lace was left down the glass.
S: I get corn, peppery hops, and an off putting cheap grainy quality. Smells very light and watery.
T: Light malt backbone, grain, corn, and mild spice. Slight yeasty quality, mild sulfer, mild vegetal. Not much flavor, but nothing overly offensive. Very plain and watery. There’s a synthetic sweetness in the aftertaste, and maybe a light metallic quality that I’m not loving.
M: Light body, light and watery mouthfeel, crisp and clean. Carbonation is low, soft, and smooth.
O: A flavorless pilsner. Not offensive, but there are much better examples, even among the light macro swill, that I’d rather drink.

I purchased a can of Montejo for $1.99 USD in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles/CA/USA.
Look: Montejo has light foam.
Smell: Montejo has the aroma of beer.
Taste: Montejo has the light flavours of both grains and malt.
Feel: Montejo has good carbonation.
Overall: Montejo is a beer for people who mild flavours of both grains and malt.

Just picked up a case for $10. Yes, a case. Don't know why it was so cheap, but obviously...I couldn't say no.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it because it wasn't awful.

Clear yellow colored beer with a tiny white head.

Smells lightly of toasted grain. Mildly sweet smelling and that is about it..

Starts out mildly sweet and mild noble hop. No real bitterness just clean beer flavor. Very mild taste.

Mouthfeel is seltzer water.

Overall it isn't offensive at all. The downside though is that it is not very flavorful. A suitable substitute for water if you ever need it in Mexico.

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Pours a clear, golden yellow with a white head, no head retention, really thin, lots of carbonation, no lacing, looks very drinkable.

A: Grainy, earthy, herbal malts, no alcohol, not much else, smells okay.

T: Mild grainy, earthy, herbal flavor, slight citrus bitterness in the middle, finishes smooth, it's not bad.

M: Very light with lots of carbonation.

O: I actually enjoyed this, I could see myself drinking this while grilling some carne asada on a hot summer day, a mild touch of grainy, earthy flavors, touch of citrus bitterness in the middle, finishes smooth, light, easy drinking.

Meh?

I was in Chicago for a week, and every evening on the way back to the hotel I'd stop by some convenience stores and see what beer they had. I'd get a slice of pizza and a six-pack and head back to the hotel.

I saw this. I like to try new things so I grabbed a can. I wasn't interested in drinking the greatest new craft beer. I just wanted something light to go with the pizza before it was sleepy time. This did the trick. It's not heavy. It's almost like Corona Light. It's got the light golden color, barely any aroma and a taste of cheap beer. I'm not going to write a song about it, but it was okay and did the trick.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of grain, corn flake, and sugar aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, frosted corn flake, and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a below average beer that is fairly drinkable, but it's quite sweet and corn flake like all around.

Serving type: bottle.

Pours a darkish yellow with good clarity. Average head, weak lacing.

Smell is grainy and slightly grassy. Aroma is a bit stale and even a tad sour. Not very inviting.

A fair amount of malt flavor gives way to a rather unpleasant finish and aftertaste with a bit of unpleasant sourness. I have a feeling this is well past its prime. Overly carbonated; too sharp and biting. Slick and wet mouthfeel. Kind of gross.

If this is really a Czech Pilsener than it is a rather poor example. Stick to the Vienna lager style if you want a Mexican beer.

Pours a finger and half of head on a clear medium straw body.
The aroma is mild dry grain and honey.
The taste starts with a little malt sweet, then touch of lemon bitterness and finishes with a sweet note.
The texture is crisp but too fizzy.
It's nice enough, except for the texture.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a corn and malt smell, fairly inviting.
Appearance- Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a medium sized white head.
Taste- Has a very refreshing flavor of malt and corn, do not confuse this with a micro brew.
Palate- A light bodied beer with moderate carbonation
Overall- this is a great session beer for tailgating or fishing. It is not a craft beer and I don't think anyone who drinks this will ever be confused by that. But it is a very good beer to quench a thirst and it is phenomenal on a hot day.

Served to me in a clear, plastic pint glass. I had this on-tap for free at the happy hour at the Embassy Suites hotel my dad and I are staying at in Phoenix, AZ for a few days. This beer is a very clear, light to medium golden color with a white head that is about 1/2 to 2/3 of an inch thick when first drawn and served to me with streams of bubbles rising to the beer's surface up until the last sip. Settles to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with some nice cluster swirls of foam on the beer's surface and pretty decent lacing. Aromas of some corn and some crisp malts and now much else. Has a crisp, somewhat sweet malt presence upfront that gives way to some grains and a faint hint of corn that is rounded out with a slight touch of hops. Not bad, but certainly not great either. One of these was enjoyable and refreshing on an 80 degree evening here in Phoenix, but it is not something I'd go out of my way to drink. Has a crisp, slightly frothy, light to medium bodied mouthfeel with light to moderate carbonation. Just a decent beer.

I haven't had one of these light El Cheapo beers for a while. So I was surprised that it's sort of drinkable as a watery gulp. But then the corn and club soda taste take over. There is something like hops, I am thinking, but then it turns soapy.

This stuff even looks cheap in the glass. The coarse bubbles peter out quickly. Sort of sweet and grainy. Not even refreshing, though if you were seriously sweating and gasping from thirst it would be welcome enough. But rated as a Czech Pilsener it's laughable. From the 12 oz bottle with the longest neck I have ever seen.

Not a fan of pilsners, but it is what it is, not bad but not good either. Refreshing beer, hoppiness and bitternes makes it very sessionable, great in southern mexico, but as it is shipped to the north it loses character.

I'm seriously surprised by this beer. Strong, crisp mouthfeel. No skunkyness that one might associate with a typical Mexican beer. In fact, this beer is totally atypical when compared to other Mexican brews. I'm a huge fan of sessionable pilsners and this one is distinctive and absolutely drinkable. A solid beer all around.

Appearance: Quite clear, light golden in color, with a large, coarse white head, and scattered, patchy lacing. The carbonation is sparse, with fat bubbles drifting lazily to the surface.

Aroma: Cooked corn and vegetal notes dominate the aroma, with no perceptible hop notes.

Taste: Opens with a wave of corn malt, with a vaguely burnt characteristic. As the taste progresses, earthy and metallic hops appear, and dominate to the close of the taste.

Mouth feel: Smooth, fairly soft, a bit thin.

Drinkability/notes: Not much here, seems very cheaply-made and mediocre. I paid ninety-nine cents plus tax for a single bottle, that seems about right for this Corona knockoff.

Presentation: Packaged in a custom, enameled, twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

Montejo has a thick, somewhat fizzy, white head, and a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, with minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, lightly-roasted, bready malts, and the flavor is of sweet bread, mild hop bitterness, and possibly maize. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Montejo finishes crisp, refreshing, and highly drinkable.

Color is a curious mix of light orange, gold, dark yellow and faint brown. No head though, even when pouring fast! The smell nose is oakiness, which is odd. A roasted butterscotch also in the mix. Like most mexican beers, a doughy yeast comes on strong after swirling. Medium-light sweet, medium-light bitter, medium-light sour taste. Lot’s of vanilla maltose, however its not overpowering. A sprinkle of nuttiness and a bit of pizza dough mouthfeel. Quenchable to the thirst.

My next few reviews would mostly be mexican beers with some american tossed in too, since I am on a trip around Yucatan at this moment.

ABV 4.5 %
355 ml can poured into a plastic cup. Clear golden yellow colour with a half finger head that disappeared immediately. Average amount of bubbles into the glass.
As with most mexican beers aroma is not that easy to distinguish. Nothing here too, just a "beery"  smell that is pleasant though.
Taste is good, but nothing you can put your finger on, it's not bitter, it's not sweet. Maybe somewhere in the middle.
Medium thickness on the body and slight carbonation.
Overall, slighty better than your average mexican beer.
