Pours a clear golden color. Smell is corn and rice Taste had corn and cereal grain mixed with lemon grass and bread. Twas nicely carbonated and quenched the thirst. I would drink this again but im on the beach and my judgement is skewed.

After moving from PA to CA last November was looking for a good beer to consume with pizza or just rehydrate. After trying all of the Mexican beers at my local distributor I found Jalisco to be the best. Why they use clear bottles for a lager is a mystery. I tried both can and bottle and can wins by a long shot. The bottled version was skunky as is my experience for the style. The canned version was fresh and smooth, refreshing and perfect with football or food. Still prefer my favorite PA Rolling Rock however, even though it is no longer brewed in PA.

6-pack bought for cinco de mayo ($7.99). Poured one into a pint glass with Tajin and lime for the review.

L - Pours a clear, golden straw color with half a finger of white foam that disappears in seconds. Very bubbly and leaves little lacing on the glass.

S - Corn, grass, cereal grain, a little malty, some skunkiness but not overpowering.

T - Citrus (with or without the lime), corn, white bread, light and sweet with very little bitterness.

F - Very light and watery, high carbonation, basically a seltzer water, drinkable when ice cold.

O - Mexican beers aren't my go-to but this was a cheaper option and compares to a Tecate or Modelo Especial. I wouldn't go out of my way to pick this up, but hits the spot with a little Tajin and lime. Good for a day at the beach or a BBQ, but nothing special.

Bought a king size can at a local packie (closed on Sunday!) while I was visiting family and hitting the beach.

For a tall, cool bit of hydration it’s fine, but this is easily a double or triple-serving. Sweet and fizzy, lower ABV, lower bitterness, and rather typical of Central American lager styles.

Reminds me of some of the budget-branded beers from the early Oughts, back when it seemed every importer and wholesaler was trying to bring in a “Corona-beater”.

Maybe it just needs a little lime? Nah.

Served from 25oz can into pint glass.
Pours a 2" pillowy white head which drops quickly with moderate lacing. Color is clear gold with abundant streaming bubbles. Aroma of grain husks and white bread dough. Mouthfeel is thin with a crisp finish. Flavor of lightly toasted barley, sweet corn, with a hint of hops. Enjoyed this one, better tasting than some of its Mexican competitors.

Crisp. Not overly foamy which is nice, which makes it not too filling. It’s on the sweeter side. I can see crushing a 12 of these on hot summer outdoors day. It’s not my fav Med beer but it’s far from the worst. I like it better than Pacifico but not as much as Modelo especial, to use that as a measurement.

Estrella Jalisco has a thick, white, creamy head, a pale straw, bubbly appearance, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of bread dough and corn tortilla. Taste is of sweet, white bread, sourdough bread, and grassy hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Estrella Jalisco finishes crisp, easy going, and enjoyable.

One of the best Mexican beers I've ever had - almost comes off as a milder white beer sans any of the spices, but is incredibly drinkable and (in a can) no skunkiness of which to note. Blows Corona out of the water, though that's not difficult, and is on-par with Modelo in taste and quality, only being a bit lighter.

I purchased a can of Estrella for $2.29 USD in Lincoln Heights, CA/USA.
Look: Estrella has barely any foam.
Smell: Estrella had a mild aroma of fermented grain.
Taste: Estrella had a very mild flavour of grains.
Feel: Estrella had medium carbonation.
Overall: Estrella is a beer for people who enjoy mild flavours of grain.

This beer keeps its head longer than most other pale lagers. It is definitely different than a Corona or Modelo in that this one is very light and has a slight sweetness the other Mexican brands. Great beer for a hot summer day to have while BBQing. Not one of the best beers out there, but it is good for what it sets out to be. It's a good cheap Mexican beer

A- Pouring this one really surprised me because of the head that it retains. Normally, a beer in this style just pours clear and medium to light golden yellow with a head that is fizzy and then gone. This one on the other hand has a small, somewhat creamy head that sticks around a decent bit. Looks as it should in the glass.

S- Grainy and extremely light malt notes greet the nose first. The usual, strong, 'skunky' scent from Mexican imports is not there in the scent, but in its place, a light, sweet smell pops up.

T- Light and crisp right up front, this one starts out very predictably. The lightest malts possible are the dominating flavor at the beginning, providing just a bit of sweetness as well. The middle and back end of the drink is mostly just a continuation of the light sweetness that sums up in a crispy finish that is quickly off of the tongue.

M- Light and easy to drink and very thirst quenching. That's all that needs to be said.

Overall, this is a slightly better version of (insert Mexican import brand here). It does have a leg up on most of its competitors just because it lacks the skunky flavor and has just a touch of sweetness.

This beer has just recently started being marketed here in Northern California so I thought I'd give it a try. It looks like a typical Mexican pale lager and smells and tastes pretty much the same. Really nothing to distinguish it from Corona or Pacifico except I prefer those brands more. I can see myself knocking down a few of these on a hot summer day, but not until they knock the price down a little. $7.99 a six pack. I think naught.

Clear gold with one finger of white head that departs rather quickly. No lacing.
Smell is fresh corn chip mineral water and a whiff of grassy hops.
Taste is corn chip mineral water some bready malts and the grassy hop shows up toward the end.
Mouthfeel is almost medium mostly from the high carbonation. Finish is dry and pretty neutral.
Usually I don't like the low abv beers due to thin body and watery flavor but I did enjoy this one more than I expected.
Good hot weather beer.

Says Estrella Jalisco on the label but I am sure this is the same beer even though it says it is brewed in Guadalajara.

Clear yellow colored beer with a small white colored head.

Smells of powdery yeast and mild sweet malt. Faint caramel. Little bit of noble hop it comes out in the scent of grass. Corn is detectable.

Starts out mildly sweet with a fairly strong mineral water flavor. Quite fizzy the carbonation level is high. Quite clean flavored no detectable flavor defects. Toasted grain and faint grass. But this is very mildly flavored.

Mouthfeel is seltzer water.

Overall exactly what it pretends to be, an unoffensive Mexican Lager. But this is WAY better than a funky Corona and a very good hot weather beer. Just don't compare it to a World class German Lager.

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Pours a very pale yellow, very clear, average amount of carbonation streaming up the middle, no head retention, no lacing, looks like an average adjunct lager.

A: Old musty cardboard smell, hint of skunk, smells like a watered down Corona, not much going on.

T: Some skunk up front, some maltiness in the finish, very basic, like the aroma, it taste like a watered down Corona.

M: Very light, crisp finish, very drinkable.

O: Taste and smells like a Corona light, faint skunk with an easy drinkability, there are better Mexican beers out there.
