At the end of the day, a fairly average lager. Nothing particularly "especial" in taste, or smell. Very clean, very crisp and so a very refreshing option on a hot summer day. Overall a decent brew.

Looks like watered down beer.
Smells like watered down light beer.
Taste is almost non existent, but has a funky stale aftertaste ( old gmo corn syrup)
Feels like seltzer water, just bubbles.
Overall, the worst of the crappy mexican labeled InBev garbage. Way overpriced as an import.
Waste of time and money.

Just your generic, not special, import lager. Nothing remarkable, just very light and thus good on a hot day. You know what you'll get here, and it's not that exciting. But yes, it goes well with Mexican food. So do lots of other beers.

The sarcastic twat in me likes non-specific dates like that. Us beer nerds (er... advocates) are an overly-fussy bunch sometimes...

Pours very clear and pale as expected with a bony white head that quickly disappears. Not much to write home about there. Smells of grains and sweet corn. Not much in the way of malt or hops. Not much of anything, really. Very neutral on the nose. Nothing off-putting, though. Same on the tongue. I put this in the freezer for a good half hour before popping that gold foil cap and I wonder if the extreme cold dulled things a bit. There's a very light malty sweetness, some corn and the faintest hint of flowery hops. Almost zero bitterness and far too carbonated, but I expected that. This is utterly middle-of-the-road; perfectly inoffensive and drinkable without any standout characteristics, good or bad. The perfect beer for people who don't care for risks, despite what their moronic ad-campaign would have you believe.

355 ml clear bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 4.5%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Strong sweetish Heineken-like lightstruck aroma, notes of maize. The flavour (as far as there is any flavour at all) has maize, grain and wet cardboard. Some weak citric notes, a little sweetness, minimal hops. As the beer is wet, cold and carbonated, it may serve some purpose under the Mexican sun - otherwise, it is one to forget.

I saw someones comment that beer should be judged by occasion. I agree. Hot day, meat on grill, this beer is cold and refreshing. Not fancy by any means, but solid.

Pours a clear dark yellow color, I hate to say this, but it looks like urine. Carbonation is visible and the head is moderate and well retaining.

The nose is surprisingly not skinny despute the clear bottle. Aromas of corn and faint notes of bready malt.

Mostly clean and crisp. There is a light bready sweetness and some grassy hops. Bitterness is minimal. Finish is clean and dry.

Light bodied and crisp. The carbonation is very fizzy and the mouthfeel is a bit rough at times.

Not terrible and ok with the chips and guacamole I’m enjoying. Still, I don’t see myself drinking another one, which is the benchmark by which I like to judge commercial lagers.

Really refreshing beer, I liked it. some seem to judge beers differently to wine but beers are for occasions too, this one suits a nice day in the sun with a light meal. Smooth and crisp but must be served cold or the taste and feel really does disappoint.

How does this beer have a 2.85 rating? What were people expecting, Heady Topper? lol This is an adjunct lager but in the style of a pilsner - and a good one, really - simple, clean, mild, and super-drinkable - coulda killed six fer sure - actually a little heartier and more flavorful than I expected - juicy?!? lol - decent body, nice feel - I really dug it - you might see more of this in my immediate future - gotta validate my initial impression, of course...

(Edit:)
...And I did - have come back a round a few ties and the beers presents well every time - light, clean with lightly chewy grains - very drinkable and soft...

I don’t know what’s the great big deal with Mexican lagers, why does everybody have to diss them when they can be actually pretty decent beers... there must be some people who like them, like my wife and me, we enjoy drinking such Mexican cerveza - and I got to tell you that this one was quite good, better than your average adjunct lager. You might say that it smells skunked but it’s actually something I like about it. And it has a bit lighter body but you could chug a few down easily. I might say that I would even buy it again.

Medium gold color with a white, soapy head. Nose is mostly sweet corn, maybe a kiss of hops. Taste is corn tacos. Very refreshing. What I liked about this macro lager, is that the taste did not become off-setting once the beer started to warm. This is a much better option than almost all your light lagers, and even your traditional lagers like Budweiser. Twelve pack of cans with a best buy date May 2021 for $8.99.

I have drank a lot of Moedlo and other Mexican stye lagers over the years, having pretty much grown up in the Southwest and Mexico. My attitude about this beer has really changed. It definately tastes better out of a can than it does out of a bottle., and it used to taste better than it does now. Bottom line, it looks and smells like a Mexican lager, which is pretty much a variation of a German lager; however, this beer has become undrinkable to me for the most part. It pretty much tatste like soap unless you put a bunch of limes in it, and then it leaves the tongue coated in a white residue and has a soapy aftertaste that you'll be stuck with for the remander of the day/night. I used to drink this beer a lot and now everytime I buy it, I regret it. Don't give into the nostalgia and buy youself a better beer.

Yellow gold color, light carbonization. Got about an inch of foamy head, dissipated within a minute. Typical aroma for the style, sweet, corny. Taste is pleasant ansdsatisfying. Light feel. Good hot weather beer.

24oz can served in a Maßkrug. Crystal clear golden amber color, nice white head. Doesn't even look bubbly. Negligible aroma, but flavor is relatively clean with just a hint of malty sweetness, and no obvious signs of gross adjuncts. No detectable hop flavor, of course, but ultimately this is a Mexican style lager that handily meets expectations.

Really nice example of the style. Appearance is stunning. One of the best looking beers I’ve seen, regardless of style. Taste and aroma are true to style and certainly better than most other adjunct lagers. This beer deserves a much higher rating than it gets. Set aside your beer geek arrogance and enjoy this high quality lager for what it is.

355ml clear glass bottle.
L: Clear, dark gold with lots of visible carbonation and a thin head.
S: Clean smelling, nothing funky, sweet & grainy.
T: Lots of sticky malted barley & rice, not much hop action.
F: Thin with a soapy mouthfeel.
O: Bog-standard Mexican lager. Probably benefits from the addition of a lime wedge.

This is the my go to beer with any Mexican meal or anytime I want to have something light and refreshing. I'd reccomend adding a little lime and salt or Tajin to this beer but it is good plain as well.

Pours a light golden hue not quite as light as a domestic pilsner but still quite light. Has a little foam and leaves a small amount of lacing overall not a lot of head or lacing.

It's hit or miss sometimes this beer has a very skunky smell sometimes it doesn't all depend on the packaging and if the bottles have sat in the sun.

The taste is light and refreshing with not many notes of anything. I wouldn't say there are any big flavor notes in this one besides light notes of grain.

Good feel.

Overall a solid beer and one of the best beers from any macro brewery in my opinion.

I have friends who love this beer, and always leave some at my house, so figured it was time to review one
Pours a light fizzy head with med retention, crystal clear golden pale pils color

Nose light adjunct malt, a bit of a rice or some adjunct sweet character, touch of grainy malt, very light hop character, very very light skunky character

Taste brings more of the adjunct malt, a little grainy malt but also the rice or some other adjunct sugar character, husky cereal, touch of bitterness and basically no hop flavor, a touch of skunk and maybe sulfury character, drier finish

Mouth is lighter bod, med light carb

Overall not too bad, pretty solid for adjunct macro lager, only a touch of skunk given the clear bottle that's a bit surprising, still it's basically nothing for character

Pours a nice transparent gold with a foamy white head. Smells like a mixture of skunk, grain & a little malt. Taste very much like a good yeasty bread with a little bit of funk aftertaste. Very carbonated & thin beer, super crushable. This beer is available to the masses for a reason, it is not meant to be world class, but it is worthy of drinking on a nice hot day. Honestly, one of my favorite Mexican style pilsners.

Pours a dark golden color with a high amount of carbonation, half inch white head that dissipated very quickly. The nose is very clean, faint hint of malts. Taste is super dry, mild amount of graininess, biscuit like notes. Easy drinkable lager, if your a fan of Coors Banquet this might be for you. Good lawnmower beer.

Modelo Especial pours a bronze color, clean, with a long lasting head. Chemically grainy aroma. Flavor is chemically and grainy, but a little lighter. Good feel, nice carbonation, not overdone. Overall, there is worse, this is drinkable.

Poured from a 24 oz can:

Pours a golden yellow color with a white head that starts strong but diminishes to nothing within seconds.

Aroma is bready and floral with some light corn adjuncts.

Taste follows the nose. The honey and orange blossom are more prevalent. Corn up front, floral quality in the middle, hop bite at the end, then a quick, clean finish.

Feel is light, but not as light as I expected. High carbonation. Easily drinkable.

Overall - I was extremely surprised with this one. I was nervous to try it for fear it would be just another unpleasant macrobrew, but it’s really not. I’d be glad to have this one again. Next time I can get one with my meal at a Mexican restaurant, I will.
