Poured from a 24oz bottle into a glass stein.

Look: Clear, straw yellow body. High carbonation present, with a snow white, bubbly, persistent head. I've hit about an inch thick head upon pouring it. Very nice appearance. Very weak lacing.

Smell: Skunky from the bottle. Light aroma from the grains when poured.

Taste: Very weak flavour. Cannot say what I should be tasting, but it's very much watered down. A little sweetness, but not overpowering.

Feel: Clean, though no bitterness.

Overall: Weak beer that could have more character. However it can work if paired with food. Modelo typically supersedes this Mexican lager. There isn't much to say about it, just not something I'd choose when choosing for a good lager.

2009 backlog. Mexican Nite!!! Viva la cerveza!! Actually, I’m not that excited. I’m not even looking forward to these three cervezas I’ve had in my fridge for awhile. Expectations: low. Though I’ve had them all many times, it’s been awhile. Ist up: Mexico’s most famous beer--Corona! 12 oz can. I pop open the can, and an unpleasant cloud of an old gym locker aroma wafts over to greet my senses. No skunkiness, surprisingly. Every time I’ve had this in the bottle it’s uniformly skunky. Must be those clear glass bottles. The can has protected it, by golly. Pours pale golden, medium head with no retention, poor lacing. Flavor is better than expected. Slightly sweet, notes of citrus (no I did not put in a lime in it--though I wish I could in this review to improve it). Slightly sour. Highly carbonated, watery. Overall, better than I expected, but still pretty terrible. Next up: Tecate.

This goes without saying, drink this beer with a slice of lime.

A: Transparent light yellow. It has a small bubbly white head and leaves some lacing.

S: A slightly funky lagery aroma with some citrus and fruity notes. Balanced hop, malt, and yeast aromas are present. It smells pretty good.

T: Not at all bold but somewhat flavourful. Far less complex in taste than aroma. Some slight funk but almost no lagery bite. There is some wheaty graininess to it, a bit of slightly appley fruitiness, and possibly the smallest amount of a citrus flavour. No bitterness and almost no aftertaste.

F: Low carbonation. Feels slightly foamy. Medium thickness and very smooth. Slightly drying.

O: The aroma sets the flavour up for disappointment but I think it still tastes better than some other popular beers out there. At any rate I think it is underrated on BA. It's certainly not "Awful". Awful would mean actively off putting. This isn't that, it's just mostly flavourless. And everyone knows you're supposed to drink a Corona with a lime wedge.
