One of those beers I have had often enough, but until the three I had tonight, didn't realize I hadn't reviewed. I am not adverse to Corona or this Light version. I am going to add a lime wedge to it just about every time, and that was the case tonight. Light golden color, clear, with a simmer of bubbles as the lime is forced into the neck of the bottle. No real aromas other than the spritz of lime zest. Flavors are mild, faded grains and a bit of citrus, very mild bitterness and sweetness. For me, easy to drink and inoffensive. Way better than Bud and many American contemporaries.

Look: A boring looking yellow that I can clearly see through.

Smell: A harshly plain smell.

Taste: Poor, just down them quickly.

Feeling: Goes down very softly regarding the alcohol with an obnoxious amount of carbonation.

Overall: This beverage makes me feel silly that I'm drinking this with my brunch.

My summertime light beer in a bottle. Nice price and always available. Really good with a lime and some salt while laying poolside. Certainly not great, but really good for certain situations.

Pours a very light straw yellow body, clear, lots of bubbles, one finger white head that dies down quickly, not much retention, no lacing. Smell is of malt sweetness, a very minimal floral crispness and that's about it. Flavour is terrible; like watered down barley malt. Not much else to go on. Mouthfeel is light bodied, watery, not much depth or flavour to it, essentially like carbonated water with barley-hued off-flavours.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snfiter---jes' to be fancy.
This light brew pours a clear bright pale golden color
with a light head of white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
pool, and no lacing. Nose of light grains of corn and light skunky lager
notes. Flavors follow but lightly exceed the nose with corn and grain notes
touched with subtle herbal notes (hops?) and finishing lightly dry and clean.
Decent mouth feel for the style---medium carbonation, clean, and lightly
acidic on the aftertaste.

Begs for lime and salt.

Thanks to Lee from work---I need to educate you on good brew,

I only drink this from a bottle and with a lime otherwise it's awful and pointless. If you do that its inoffensive and totally enjoyable on a hot day.

Really piss poor appearance, this is hardly qualifying as beer, they really skimp on things like malt/barley hence the super weak barely yellow appearance. Aroma is lacking, I mean its not terrible, but it doesn't offer anything beercentric.

I mean, this is the rare occasion where I would say you 'need' to add lime to a beer. With the resurgence of gose and berliner weisse, not to mention xpas, session ipas etc. . . even the excuse of a hot day by the beach doesn't work or justify drinking this.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. No lime wedge. Sampled on August 11, 2016 when it was 96 degrees in my backyard.

Straw yellow pour with a quick lasting white fizzy head. Gone in seconds. No lacing.

Toast, grass, and corn grits are the main characters on the nose but nothing jumps out as dominant.

Light and watery body.

The taste brings out the same toasty sweetness one would expect from a light adjunct lager but it really is rather dull. Nothing much to highlight about it. But look at my first sentence - 96 degrees!

Possibly the worst beer ever made. Definitely the worst that I have ever tasted, including my 2 failed attempts at home brewing. Had this at a friend's cookout, straight from the bottle. Got to the party late, so all that was left was this and Coors Light. Made a decision that I'll never drink another Coors Light long ago and can't stand regular Corona, so what was I suppused to do? So, I tried Corona Light. Makes Coors Light taste rich and flavorful. Skunky Mexican piss in color and taste. Wow. Probably the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth. Lime doesn't even hide the skunk piss flavor. After 2 sips, dumped it in the bushes. Only took the 2nd sip because I couldn't believe the 1st one was that bad. It was. I drank Gatorade for the rest of the party.

Absolutely brutal beer, heavily carbonated, offensively flavorless, ridiculously overpriced, crisp to mask flavor, but depressing in lack of quality. A great compliment to "Extra."

Presentation: 12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass.

Look: Pours with almost no head, and very little carbonation. I detect no lacing. The color is a pale, watery, yellow. It looks like what you'd expect a light beer to look like.

Smell: It smells of alcohol, and grains. There is also a faint funky, skunky smell to it. The overall smell is extremely mild.

Taste: The taste is quite mild, even by light beer standards. It tastes of grain, corn, and it has a slightly funky aftertaste. This beer has very little taste overall.

Feel: Feels light, and foamy.

Conclusion: This beer is a pretty ordinary tasting light beer. It has a really mild taste, and it's quite drinkable. It does not stand out in any one particular way. I would not recommend this beer, because it has an ordinary taste as light beers go, and it's one of the more expensive light beers. You can buy cheaper light beer that tastes better if not the same.

Just a lighter version of corona with slightly less flavor and a more watered down taste, so no surprises with this beer. You know what you're getting.

quickly fizzing tiny head
Smells like skunk. Very light smell of grain and metal
Tastes like corn husk, metal, grain, and a bland generic citrusness
Very light, somewhat fizzy
Not sure if this is skunked or if this is how it normally tastes. The sign of a good cheap beer. Very drinkable

Light banana yellow color with quickly disappearing white cap.

Aroma primarily of grain or perhaps grain with very light malt. Hard to tell because there is little to work with.

Taste is clean, simple and lighter than the usual BMC lights. If there's a contest for lightest of the light this one should be a top contender. Don't really notice any hops but the high level of carbonation does provide a sharp prickly sensation.

Light texture and I will continue to say that until someone reveals a lighter version of the word light.

Beach brew which improves with the addition of lime.

Not much to say here. What little taste there is quickly fades into nothing. Skunky, smelly, and not very enjoyable. There are much better choices out there.

This example of the Brewers art is only a weaker version of Corona Extra, which in and of itself is already weak & thin enough. Pours clear pale straw with 1 inch of shortlived, white head, no lacing. Aroma corn/grain, faint hop tones. Taste corn, some alcohol spice, yeast, hop bitterness in finish. Aftertaste is grain, a hint of bitter & not much else. Watery & thin.

Let's face it, this isn't some high-end beer. This is what you drink on hot days at the pool or barbecuing in the backyard. This beer isn't made to win tastes awards, yet it still tastes pretty good. Has a good lager flavor without any frills. Very refreshing.

Look - very golden yellow
Smell - It's a Corona brand, so has the skunk smell, but not nearly as strong as Corona Extra
Taste - Stronger lager hops with really no sweetness.
Feel - thin but not disappointing. Can sometimes be a little sudsy in the bottle.

They aren't trying to be pretentious when making this. You get what you pay for. Drop a lime in it for a little extra flavor to sweeten it up. Tastes great with Mexican food (obviously), any sort of chicken or fish dishes, or if you want a couple of light beers while relaxing. For some reason it always tastes better in hot weather. Enjoy it for what it's worth. The Taco Bell of beers.

Grupo Modelo S.A. de C.V. "Corona Light"
12 oz. clear glass bottle

Let's face it, Corona Light is just Corona Extra with water added, there's nothing going on in its production beyond that. So how does it stand up? Pretty well I think. The flavor profile is the same as the original, and the balance remains as there are hardly any hops in Corona to begin with. It's fairly well made, and except that they're using clear glass for the bottles which can lead to skunking, it's not a bad light beer. Calorically it's not a real winner though as the following list suggests:
110 - Bud Light
109 - Corona Light
102 - Coors Light
96 - Miller Lite
95 - Michelob Ultra

Let's face it, this is a beer that anyone who appreciates a good beer would only drink in certain occasions. I'm the type that enjoys a good IPA or wee heavy, or whatever, but when I want to sit on a hot day and drink a lot of beer, this beer is perfect for that. This or Modelo Especial are my beers of choice for quantity, not quality (and the lower calories is a plus).

Anyways, It looks like a clear yellow, not much of a head with some carbonation. I am drinking it out of a can so the smell is pretty much non existent. I tried to get a whiff of it and didn't really get anything.

The taste. It's a mexican adjunct lager, there isn't a complex taste here. Although, when had out of a can it doesn't have the typical skunky flavor of corona that's sat in the light at the grocery store for who knows how long.

The feel is very crisp and light, not much of an aftertaste.

Overall, I really don't understand the hate for this beer. FOR WHAT IT IS, I give it a 4. You know what you're getting when you buy a Corona, so why would I rate it a 2 when I enjoy drinking it even though I know it's not a "good beer?" Overall, for the purpose I'd give it a 4/5.

IF YOU DRINK IT FROM A BOTTLE IT'S GOING TO BE SKUNKY. That's all imports, mexican beers especially. They sit in the sun in clear bottles ,and then in the grocery store. Light causes beer to develop the skunky taste/smell.

This beer has the look smell taste and feel of watered down urine. Urine with none of the calories and none of the flavor. I advise you to avoid the frat boys drinking this at all costs.

Yellow color with a fluffy head with short retention.
Bad aroma with notes of sulfur, lemon and sweet cereals.
Flavor with notes of lemon, mild cardboard and sweet grains. Dry aftertaste with a mild but perceived bitterness.
Watery body with good carbonation.
This really should be made just to drink as Micheladas.

This beer is for either those who want to look cool with a bottle of beer & a lime that us is not much of a beer fan or those that like coronas but is counting their caloric intake such as my sister. Drinkable.

Very Pleasantly Surprised

I had always considered light beer to be pretty close to mule piss. But drinking all this beer has gotten me a little bit of a gut. I've been trying to give up sugary sodas. I'll never be able to give up beer though, and I had seen a lot of latinos in my neighborhood walking home from the supermarket carrying cases of light beer. I figured I'd give it a try.

I like Corona Extra so I got some Corona Light, and I wasn't disappointed. It's got a decent taste, feel and look pretty close to the real thing. I'm not a beer snob so maybe there are some people out there who don't like this. But for me in the summertime I like to hang out on the deck mingling and chit chatting while drinking a cold one, and a light beer isn't filling. Plus the alcohol content is lower so you can drink more without getting impaired.

All in all, this is a great summertime beer.

L: See through yellow
S: I put a lime in it, so citrus was prominent by my own doing.
T: The first drink was awful, but it got better. Kind of a skunked flavor, but overall such a mild flavor it's hard to trash it too much.
F: It's so light, but it sure goes down easy that way.
O: With a lime in it, it's a citrusy easy drinking beer. Not one I ever seek out.

It was cold and wet and very thin , tasteless, watery. No apparent aroma. Water has more flavor. It scores more than water in that there was carbonation and a pale yellow color
