I've been waiting my whole life for this. It's the first time I've ever gotten a Corona Light when I asked for it. I've never even seen it at grocery stores. Although, to be fair, I've only looked once or twice--but god damn, this was at huge box stores with massive macro selections. To be perfectly honest, I was damn near certain this was a hoax that didn't actually exist. So it was to my utter surprise that our local dirt cheap Mexican restaurant not only listed it on their menu, but actually delivered it to the table as ordered. Thus was my ultimate bucket list whale slayed.

The overall experience is, as expected, light, ricey skunk. However, it was also surprisingly toasty. I typically find the lighter versions of macro lagers to be the lesser of its representations, but since I have only ever had "regular" Corona Extra up until now, I'm finding myself flummoxed that I'm not entirely sure that Light is the worse of the two. Bottle to bottle, I'd probably take this over Extra. Even the lightly fluffy medium body isn't impacted too terribly by the "lightening."

To wrap this up, the appearance within a lime wedged bottle--which itself I find slightly less attractive than Extra--is otherwise lightly chill-hazed piss yellow with, after a tilt, a relatively active but rapidly receding carbonation.

Don't worry, I removed the lime wedge and serviced the tip liberally prior to this exhaustive review.

Enjoy.

Had this at a friend's house since that was all that they had. It really was offensive but I drank it anyway. Wow. I thought regular Corona was drinkable when really thirsty but this Light version is just not worth it.

12 oz. can, best by 8/22
I spent twenty years drinking mostly Corona-Bud Light-Miller Lite, so the smell and flavor of this beer are very familiar. The game changer is canning. This is the first non-skunked Corona I can remember. So to start, the worst flaw is gone.
Clear gold with one finger fine white head. Spotty lacing, partial surface ring.
Corn, light floral, pale malt bready odors.
Not much flavor, light apple, corn, grass. It’s fine if that is what you are accustomed to.
Light hop zing, low carbonation , dry finish. Insubstantial, but no glaring flaws. Wet and alcoholic. Cheers!

What could be worse than perpetually skunky and corny beer?

How about watered-down corny skunk.

I never expect good choices at holiday picnics, but this is a new low.

355 ml clear bottle, ABV is 3.9%. The Norwegian supermarket scene has now been blessed with this masterpiece, hurra. Very pale yellow colour, moderate white head of poor retention. Fairly strong sweetish aroma, notes of maize, artificial candy and grass. Soft mouthfeel. Citric and refreshing flavour (kind of), a little hops in the finish. Thin and uninteresting as expected, but not disgusting.

400th review/rating, friends advised me to have a terrible beer for kicks, here we are.

look: retained a one finger white head for longer than anticipated but quickly enough dissipated to a thin layer of bubbles, beer is a brownish gold colour with rushing manic carbonation in beer, clear of course.

smell: bad, skunked to bits, smell the skunk a decent distance from the glass to its pungent, very metallic, grainy, sweet, syrupy sweet, lime, some biscuity malt, icky.

taste: man that is poor, i really forgot what it was like to have properly bad beer, it is nasty there’s no avoiding it, not even snobbishness at this point, skunky, sweet as hell, like a malt soda, grainy, metallic, a hint of lime, no lingering flavours at all except some residual sweetness, poor.

feel: light bodied, medium carbonation, super watery, all the depth of flavour of a can of diet coke, thin nothingness.

overall: this drinks like a bad non alcoholic beer and for me has altered the benchmark on what i will judge bad beer on, worst beer i’ve ever had, if you like this beer, all power to you, but i implore you to try, like, anything else that is beer, probably better.

Pours a basic transparent yellow color with a white head that doesn't stay long. Smells like skunk funk & grain! Classic corona. Taste follows the smell, not a whole lot there though since it's a light beer. This beer is pretty high in carbonation, thin, but goes down exceptionally well. Let's be honest here, this is one of the best LIGHT beers you can get, so don't judge this beer off of the best pilsner you have had; judge it for what it is. Garnish this beer with a lime & go get in the pool or mow your lawn & you wont be disappointed.
