Cerveza Pacifico ClaraCerveza Pacifico Clara
Notes: Cerveza Pacífico Clara, better known as Pacífico, is a Mexican pilsner-style beer. It was first brewed in 1900 when three Germans opened a brewery, the Cerveceria del Pacífico in Mazatlán. Cerveza Pacifico is named so because the Pacifico brewery is located in the Pacific Ocean port city of Mazatlán, in the state of Sinaloa, México. Its label includes a picture depicting a lifesaver encompassing a hill with the port's lighthouse, known locally as "Cerro del Crestón." In Mazatlán, the beer is available in three different size bottles: "cuartitos" (6 fl. oz), "medias" (12 fl. oz.), and "ballenas" (32 fl. oz.). "Clara" means clear, as opposed to "obscura" (dark).

12oz, 32oz Ballena and on tap. Various glasses in Mexico and the U.S.
L: Pours a crystal clear light yellow straw with a thin white head going down to edge foam. Good carbonation.
S: Corn, grains and very light malt in the nose.
T: Taste is crisp, pale, dry and lightly sweet. There is a hint of lingering bitterness and it is ever so lightly floral. A hint of bread at the finish.
F: Pacifico has a brisk, clean, light bodied mouthfeel with a fast finish that is lightly drying.
O: It is a beach beer and a very excellent one at that. A beer for hot climates and a beer for perhaps quick refreshment. The taste and quality are very consistent. Extremely light bodied and usually enjoyed right from the bottle it is incredibly easy to drink. Sometimes even gelled or slightly frozen and slushy. This beer becomes dull tasting if not well chilled. It is very nice, light and crisp on tap and it seems to have a bit more body. Enjoyed with a slice of lime it becomes quite dry yet retains it's light bitterness and light malt. It's not rated highly on BA probably because it is so light in nature and is so popular amongst undiscerning beer drinkers. I enjoy it's inherent lightness and find it quite right for my needs.

Light straw yellow body with lots of carbonation. Little head. Aroma is of light herbal hops and a grain malt bill. Taste is slightly sour with just a hint of hops. Mainly light malts and a lot of water. Not a bad palate cleanser. Easy to drink a few of these.

12oz can stamped BB JUN 2021 poured into a shaker pint glass at fridge temp 4.4% ABV per can. The beer pours bright light gold in color with off white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of tiny bubbles. The aroma is faint sweetness and grain. The taste is barely sweet grain and a hint of tart and bitterness. Very mild diacetyl. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with above average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good AAL. I prefer this one with lime as it knocks out the diacetyl and tartness. There are a lot worse yellow beers out there.

Bought a six to go with takeout Mexican food because they didn't have Corona available, yet alone cold. I always drink these types of beers with a lime, and almost always on a hot day, so both those factors bias my score upwards. If I was drinking this on a beach, with a lime, and a bunch of scantily clad women it would probably be 4.5 or above.

Sampled at El Sol, Waverly, IA; served cold in a 12-ounce bottle. As far as adjunct lagers go, this is pretty inoffensive: there's not much going on in terms of aroma or flavor, and not much bitterness. Very light in body. On the plus side, there isn't much corny sweetness. Just a refreshing lager that pairs well with Mexican food. What could possibly go wrong?

L: Pours straw yellow with a two-finger white head with good retention.
S: Smells sweet from grains & malt, has a funky smell to it, somewhat bready.
T: Taste pretty much follows the nose, has a corn flavor as well, has a nice bitterness to it.
F: Light-Medium bodied, high carbonation, crisp & crushable.
O: Nothing really exceptional going on here, at least you can session this beer.

Look: Clear gold with rising carbonation bubbles. One finger of foamy white head that quickly dissipates.

Smell: Wet bread, grassy.

Taste: Mild, metallic malt. Overarching bitterness, not overpowering but present through the whole experience, with little to no hop flavor accompanying it.

Mouthfeel: Thin and highly carbonated.

Overall: Completely plain and boring, but at least not disgusting.

Its a solid Mexican beer. Similar to Carona but with more flavor and body. Though it is a Mexican beer so it's still light and refreshing. Overall solid for what it is also it's sold at a decent price.

Poured a very clear, straw yellow with a half an inch soapy head that dissipated quickly, moderate amount of carbonation. Smell is very Euro pale lager, grassy hop aroma. The taste is cracker, malts up front with a faint hop bitterness in the background. Light bodied mouthfeel, crisp, easy drinkable beer, refreshing. Overall, reminds me of a lighter version of a Czech/German pils. Perfect kind of “lawnmower beer.”

First time having this beer, only reason is because I saw the Alabama Boss video on YouTube where he tries Mexican imports.
All in all very pleased! I usually go to Modelo for my Mexican imports but this may likely become my new go to. Easy to drink with no bad after taste and can quickly lose track of how many you throw back in a few hours time. Good beer I would recommend for any occasion where the heat will play a factor.

You have to accept this beer for what is, its not an IPA, its not and Stout. It's an easy drinking Mexican Pilsner, and its one of the best. On a hot day there is no other beer I would like to have in a cooler full of ice than this one, along with a cutting board of sliced lime next to it. Some people have described it as watery but I disagree. Pacifico is just a tiny bit sweet at first, with a corn like maltiness that lingers into a crisp and dry finish, that is noticeably drier than Corona or Modelo. It has a clean taste that completely lacks any offensive notes. Overall its light and refreshing. Best served ice cold with a quarter of a lime squeezed into it.

Wow, first ever Mexican beer ; )

Quite a cool design, love the shape of the bottle. Very liquidy, pale, tequila colour. Moderate head level. Light refreshing hoppy aroma.

Totally very drinkable. But far too much so. Almost more pure than my water. Actually so watery this beer is a joke, it's the most watery beer I have very had ; ) But perfect for drinking fast : )

I have had thousands of beers in my life and reviewed hundreds. This is, by far, the most like water ; )

12 ounce bottle poured into a tumbler style pint glass.
Best by: Feb 2021

It pours clear and golden, showing sparse rising bubbles feeding a one finger, white head that is short lived. The nose is light spicy hops but disappears with the head. Tasting of corn with light floral and spicy hops it finishes thin and clean of flavor but has mouth coating astringency. Medium-light body and medium-high carbonation crisp and a little frothy. Not great but it is easy drinking.

Fizzy yellow body, non exsitant head. Slight malty smell. Taste is water with a low unpleasant lingering aftertaste like bleach or something that kills germs in the kitchen. Sandy mouthfeel, grainy and gluey. Definitely an synthetic feeling.

Bought in the hope of getting a simple innocuous Corona type experience but this has more off notes than a Les Dawson piano performance. Awful.

Poured from a bottle -pale yellow straw color with short white head and minimal lacing. Nose is muted grains and a hint of citrus, maybe some grass clippings. Taste follows with not much else ,flavor is lacking here. Finish is fairly crisp and clean -a good chaser for zippy Mexican food or if it's ice cold on a hot day.Completely inoffensive.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there is no date on the bottle that I could find.

APPEARANCE: pours a clear, light yellow color with one finger white head, good retention, the head slowly dissipated until a thin, unbroken layer of small bubbles remained, there is moderate lacing on the glass, medium carbonation.

SMELL: extremely faint to the nose, sweet corn and bread.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, faint sweetcorn up front and then some bread, the taste is almost non-existent, there are no bad or off-putting flavors, it's just bland and nearly flavorless.

PALATE: light body with medium carbonation.

OVERALL: this is easily the blandest beer I have ever had, I would have scored it a 1 but there were no bad flavors just a lack of flavor, it looks better than average and feels like any other lager should to the palate, just very little smell or taste to be found, who is the target market for this beer, people who do not like the taste or smell of beer? I would not recommend this beer to my friends and would not seek out again, even if I were mowing the lawn I would prefer bottled water to this.

2020 Re-review

Look: Pours a translucent gold color with a puny, quarter finger head of white foam, which fizzles away after only a few seconds.

Aroma: Hardly any, just a hint of roasted cereal grains and some grass clippings. What little aroma there is blanketed by corn syrup and hints of sour apple/diacetyol.

Taste: Virtually tasteless. Corn flakes and sweet corn syrup with a slightly dry, grassy aftertaste.

Feel: Mid-light body. Low-medium carbonation.

Overall: I rate beers according to style but even for a fairly generic adjunct lager, I find Pacifico to be lacking. It's not flavorful enough from other beers in its category to stand out or really make an impression on me, and at the same time, what little flavor it does offer (mostly corn syrup) detracts from the beers drinkability and refreshingness. It's not offensive to the palate or anything, but I don't see why anyone would go out of the way to drink this.

Poured from a 12oz bottle: Pours a light yellow-gold color similar to the color of olive oil. Less than one finger head, and moderate amount of carbonation. A nose detects faint hints of corn, malt and wheat, clean and not skunky. The taste parallels the smell. Overall a light, crisp, and easy drinking beer that I believe deserves a better rating than it gets.

Crystal clear pale yellow with a small white head. Decent retention for an adjunct lager.

Smells of honey, sweet corn, cracker, and cool herbal hops.

Tastes like a tortilla. Corn and white cracker with a bit of honey, and hints of grass and honey. Lightly sweet but clean and crisp on the finish.

Light feel, but well carbonated. Refreshing.

Not bad. Just don't buy it in a green bottle so it's not skunky. A decent pale adjunct lager.

S - Sweet corn and malt with a little bit of wheat
T - Sweet corn and grains along with a lot of malt.
F - Light bodied with moderate to high amount of carbonation. Crisp, refreshing
O - Typical adjunct- not bad to be honest, but nothing I'd choose if I had a choice. Had a good amount in Cabos and honestly went well with tacos and the like.
