Cerveza Pacifico ClaraCerveza Pacifico Clara
Notes: Cerveza Pacífico Clara, better known as Pacífico, is a Mexican pilsner-style beer. It was first brewed in 1900 when three Germans opened a brewery, the Cerveceria del Pacífico in Mazatlán. Cerveza Pacifico is named so because the Pacifico brewery is located in the Pacific Ocean port city of Mazatlán, in the state of Sinaloa, México. Its label includes a picture depicting a lifesaver encompassing a hill with the port's lighthouse, known locally as "Cerro del Crestón." In Mazatlán, the beer is available in three different size bottles: "cuartitos" (6 fl. oz), "medias" (12 fl. oz.), and "ballenas" (32 fl. oz.). "Clara" means clear, as opposed to "obscura" (dark).

2020 Re-review

Look: Pours a translucent gold color with a puny, quarter finger head of white foam, which fizzles away after only a few seconds.

Aroma: Hardly any, just a hint of roasted cereal grains and some grass clippings. What little aroma there is blanketed by corn syrup and hints of sour apple/diacetyol.

Taste: Virtually tasteless. Corn flakes and sweet corn syrup with a slightly dry, grassy aftertaste.

Feel: Mid-light body. Low-medium carbonation.

Overall: I rate beers according to style but even for a fairly generic adjunct lager, I find Pacifico to be lacking. It's not flavorful enough from other beers in its category to stand out or really make an impression on me, and at the same time, what little flavor it does offer (mostly corn syrup) detracts from the beers drinkability and refreshingness. It's not offensive to the palate or anything, but I don't see why anyone would go out of the way to drink this.

Poured from a 12oz bottle: Pours a light yellow-gold color similar to the color of olive oil. Less than one finger head, and moderate amount of carbonation. A nose detects faint hints of corn, malt and wheat, clean and not skunky. The taste parallels the smell. Overall a light, crisp, and easy drinking beer that I believe deserves a better rating than it gets.

Crystal clear pale yellow with a small white head. Decent retention for an adjunct lager.

Smells of honey, sweet corn, cracker, and cool herbal hops.

Tastes like a tortilla. Corn and white cracker with a bit of honey, and hints of grass and honey. Lightly sweet but clean and crisp on the finish.

Light feel, but well carbonated. Refreshing.

Not bad. Just don't buy it in a green bottle so it's not skunky. A decent pale adjunct lager.

draft out of the tap, had a lot of head on the first glass which can be attributed to first pour of the day. Tasted clean, no after taste and no skunk smell or flavor. Nice beer after a day of skiing

feel? felt wet and cold as a beer should

L - Clear golden with a big white head that dissipates pretty quickly
S - Sweet corn and malt with a little bit of wheat
T - Sweet corn and grains along with a lot of malt.
F - Light bodied with moderate to high amount of carbonation. Crisp, refreshing
O - Typical adjunct- not bad to be honest, but nothing I'd choose if I had a choice. Had a good amount in Cabos and honestly went well with tacos and the like.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a brief off-white head. Initial impression is corn with a touch of bitterness. Mouthfeel is clean and refreshing. Finish is dry with a slight lingering sweetness. Bst Mexican beer I've ever had - which isn't saying much, but I like to give credit where credit is due.

I went to Rite Aid and I wanted some Sapporo but it was all gone, so I settled on a big can of this...

Look: Brilliantly crystal clear pale yellow with a shy head that is quick to fade and difficult to coax out. It is so clear that the rising carbonation is magnified by the clarity of the body.

Smell: Light corn husk aroma with a tiny metallic edge.

Taste/Feel: Taste is more pleasant than the aroma, with a corn husk and grain flavor profile complimented by a clean and dry finish. Very light-bodied. I could definitely see myself enjoying this with a lime and some hearty Mexican food.

Overall: I prefer this over Modelo Especial and Corona, but Modelo Negra is my favorite Mexican beer with all that toasty character that it has. All in all, Pacifico is not that bad and pretty drinkable.

This one pours a clear straw yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This one smells like corn, fresh cut grass, lemon, and a slightly sweet aroma.

As this type of thing goes - cheap and low rent Mexican lagers - this is pretty nice. It's a basic flavor, cut and dry here - corn sweetness, some lighly bitter hop character, and a bit of vague sweetness.

This is really crisp, and pretty clean, all things considered, with a good drinkability to it.

This would go extremely with tacos or anything spicy, really. It's definitely fine.

Appearance: Pours a pale, clear, yellow color. A moderate white head. SRM of 6. (3.75)

Aroma: Aromas of bread, white tortilla, and corn chips. Some cereal. Then a nice lemon citrus behind that. (4.00)

Flavor: The flavor is a lot of white tortilla, bread flour, and baked potato. Lots of yeast and drying. Just a pinch of mashed corn and spice. A light lemon citrus sweetness on the finish, and it finishes with a slight sweetness. (4.00)

Feel: Appropriate body and well carbonated. Balanced. Light, crisp, yet a smooth lemon sweet component. Some lingering yeast on the tongue. (4.00)

Compared to Sapporo 5/15/20: Pours a darker color. Stronger aromas. More tortilla, bread, corn, and sweetness. Less dry yeast and rice.`

Overall: A great lager here. Lots of pale malts with some nice yeast and just the right amount of sweetness. Just a hint of corn and cream. Finishes very well rounded. Both crisp and smooth. Almost indistinguishable from an American lager, but it has slightly better malts w/ just a hint of spice. This is a lager I would pick up again. (Final Rating: 3.99)

Cerveza con poca espuma, ligera y de carbonatación media/alta. Aroma débil herbáceo y a maíz. En boca es ligera, como un refresco. No es desagradable pero no se siente como una cerveza.

This is what it is. It’s a typical Mexican beer than could/should be served w a lime wedge. IMO this beer is better than corona and now comes in cans in addition to bottles.

Out of an ice cold can. Sweet adjunct nose. Sweet flavor yet some hop bitterness on the end of this beer. Good carbonation with a thinner body. Almost can’t believe I’ve rated this above a 3. Musta been drunk.

Looks nice; clear liquid gold. Drank very Cold. 12oz. Bottle. Taste is very mild, slightly floral, VERY refreshing, very crisp. Easy to drink. Feels like you're average pilsner. The colder the better for this one; This is a great summer pilsner. The beautiful label is what intrigued me.

L: Pours a clear straw gold with a medium fizzy white head and several fingers of lacing on the glass.

S: Sweet a apple, a bit of baked tortilla chip, with a slightly skunky hop. Not the strongest aroma.

T: Grain, tortilla chip, a sweet apple, a light floral hop that has a hint of skunkiness to it, a light bitterness, Not an overly strong flavor.

F: Light and crisp, very easy drinking.

O: It's not awful, but it is also very bland, there are much better craft options out there.

Clear golden color with a thin white head. Not much to the aroma, maybe a bit of floral hops but no grain. The taste had faint corn, cracker, and metal, but not much else. Mild bitterness that was muddled. Dry and clean finish.

What can I say? This is a bad beer. I know these are quite popular on the west coast but they are quite bad. Thin, watery, pathetic head. This is akin to beer flavored soda in consistency. They would be decent very very cold on a beach somewhere. But other than that stay away from me.

L- Quite pale gold, pours clear with a 3mm mixed-size white bubble head that clears quickly to a narrow ring.
S- Very subtle indeed, hard to find anything to note, good or bad.
T- Some tang on the front, into a bland middle, relieved by a carbonated tasting mild hoppy-dry finish, with a rather synthetic sugar sweet notes.
F- It could be refreshing on a sweltering day, but there isn't much that's beer-like about it's feel.
O- Carbonated/dry with one or two rather synthetic beer aspects in parallel. Unchallenging/unrewarding in having beer-like character. Disappointing, I had higher hopes for this one.

24 Oz Can poured into glass
Look - light yellow almost straw color, lots of bubbles. thin foam head but some glass lacing.
Smell - Very clean grains. Barley and a little sweetness. Nothing too crazy.
Taste - It's very clean. Zero off flavors or skunk. A minor hop bite gives it balance to the corn sweetness. Some breadiness. This has more flavor profile than most Mexican beers and it actually tastes fresh. Highly drinkable but has medium-high carbonation.

Overall, i was impressed with this beer, it bests the other mainstream offerings from Mexico and it tastes better than American macro lagers. Nice beer to drink on a warm day, goes down easy. Grade is an A-

Light, mild, slightly citrus aroma. My taste of it leaned toward the bitter side by a smidge. Easy drinking, watery feel that seems best suited for gulping down during hot weather at the beach, lakeside, etc. Would buy again on a whim, and only then.

Presents flat + lingers like a macro. In between, there are signs of pils intent. But the baseline for Mexican lager is higher than this.
