Notes / Commercial Description:
Cerveza Pacífico Clara, better known as Pacífico, is a Mexican pilsner-style beer. It was first brewed in 1900 when three Germans opened a brewery, the Cerveceria del Pacífico in Mazatlán. Cerveza Pacifico is named so because the Pacifico brewery is located in the Pacific Ocean port city of Mazatlán, in the state of Sinaloa, México. Its label includes a picture depicting a lifesaver encompassing a hill with the port's lighthouse, known locally as "Cerro del Crestón." In Mazatlán, the beer is available in three different size bottles: "cuartitos" (6 fl. oz), "medias" (12 fl. oz.), and "ballenas" (32 fl. oz.). "Clara" means clear, as opposed to "obscura" (dark).

Refreshing, especially with a lime. No bad aftertaste, like Corona. Mexican beer at its best.

Pours out a medium yellow straw color. Head is white and fizzles away instantly. No lacing at all.
Not much in the nose. Faint grains, corn sweetness, and some pennies.
Taste is very neutral. Grains and mineral water is all I can say. Nothing really offensive although really nothing.
Mouthfeel is light with a tingling high carbonation. Works for the style.

Appearance - The beer poured straw yellow with a white head.

Smell - The beer has a light lagee yeast smell with hints of youthful indiscretion.

Taste - When cold, the beer has a crisp lager yeast presence with adjunct grains. With a lime wedge, the beer pops a little more.

Mouthfeel - A thin feel is coupled by a higher level of carbonation.

Overall - This is not nearly as offensive as some American adjunct lagers.

I must admit I have a soft spot in my heart for this beer....it's all I drink when I'm in Cabo on fishing trips.

Pours a clear pale yellow with a fair amount of effervescent head that quickly disappears

Smell is lightly sweet, with a slight herbal/floral character

Taste is light biscuit, with very little hop, however just enough to add an astringency which evokes citrus.

Above average carbonation, fairly crisp and dry. Leaves you wanting another.

Very good for what it is....a beach beer. Well crafted in the sense that it's designed to complement salty/lime foods. Perfect for some fish tacos, guacamole, and lime.

Pours a nearly crystal-clear straw with a finger of white foam that dissipates quite quickly. Aroma is dank and herbal hops, biscuit and toast malts, with a sucker punch of dry, white rice behind. Flavor profile is herbal, dank, and citrus hops, with biscuit and toasted malts behind. Dank and herbal are the emphasis out of the hop range. Mouth feel is crisp and refreshing with a thin, delicate body. Overall, a smasher of a Mexican lager.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz bottle.

The first time I went to Mexico, in the early 1980's, for some reason this was my favorite Mexican beer. I don't know what I was thinking (but I did drink obscene amounts of tequila on that trip). Of course I also smuggled a quart of Stroh's on the plane and had my picture taken with it overlooking the Pacific. I was young and foolish.

It pours clear yellow with very little head. The aroma is non-existent, but it does not smell bad. The taste is pretty much where the smell was. I just had a Corona (also left over from cinco de mayo) and this is even thinner and really quite boring.

On the positive side, it is a clean product and would work as a wash for your tequila or what have you.

Not recommended.

Pours a perfectly clear golden straw color. Thin fizzy white head dissipates quickly leaving no residual head.

Aroma is mostly dominated by dried corn and grain - not much else. There is not the usual sweet corn aroma you get from these AALs - its actually kind of dry on the nose.

Taste has notes of grain, corn, some skunked notes and a bit of bitter hops on the finish. Not overly sweet at all - there is a hint of sweetness, but its quite light. It is far more dry and somewhat more bitter comparatively to the style.

Feel is light, crisp, rather dry on the finish. Vibrant carbonation.

Overall a decent AAL - it avoids being overly sweet, but perhaps veers a bit too far in the other direction. That being said, toss a fresh lime in this and its a great hot summer day beer.

I have had both the bottled & canned version of this beer. The bottled version is utterly better. It does not have as much as cheap filler as your Corona Extra but is not very flavorful either. It's quite watered down & cheap tasting. What makes the can version even worse is that on the last 3 to 5 ounces of the can there is a nasty sour type of taste that made me gag. Pacifico is big enough brewery where they can do a lot better than this. I am appalled. Cheers! C- (70-74) score range

A touch of sweet corn on the nose with very little head. The super clear amber colored brew has a touch of sharp carbination. This is a very light beer, watery and easy to swallow. There is a hint of tartness and a grainy sweet note, but that's about it.
