What do they tell you not to drink in Mexico? The water. What is beer made of? Mostly water. OK, that's not fair, the same could be said in Europe. But most of the European beers I have tried are better than this.

12 oz. from the bottle.

Appearance: Out of brown bottle, so hard to tell. Appears lagery.

Aroma: Not much. Clean, some malt.

Taste: Slightly sweet maltiness along with a whiff of corn. Clean, standard American lager.

Mouthfeel: Light, watery.

Overall: It's a taco beer. Drink it with a taco. Perfectly fine standard lager.

This is a solid American style lager and goes down pretty easy. Tastes fine with no off flavors and I could drink plenty of them, although there's nothing spectacular about it. A solid bbq or pool beer.

I love Mexican beers so I was excited to try this one out, and it did not disappoint. Has a great goldish color with bubbles that rise fast. It smells a little off with a trace of sweetness. Has a great taste with hints of fruit and a little spice. Has an excellent finish and is extremely refreshing.

More corn and masa like the Corona Extra and Modelo Especial. It's also quite skunky, but more manageable than Corona. And to me probably my favorite of the three, but not amazing. Crisp, refreshing as a soda.

L: brilliant straw gold filled with streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 2" white foam collar with fair retention

S: light grain aroma seasoned with corn, spice and a trace of fruit

T: some fruit, faint apple, some light grains, light corn and some hop floral and spice

F: creamy smooth with medium light body and medium high carbonation

O: easy to drink, inoffensive and has a nice looking can. Other than that, nothing special

Poured into a wine glass from a 12oz can

A - golden and translucent with a half finger bright white head that quickly disapates.

S - funky hop, sweet/dry malts, super yeasty and not much else

T - sweet, bready yeast, huge funk, little to no hops, slightly sweet/slightly toasted/dry malts grains (creates some taste bud confusion) and has a not how bitter

M - medium light body, ok balance, ok complexity, medium plus carbonation, medium acidity and a very simple Mexican style lager

D/O - not a whole lot to say here. Refreshing and crisp and goes great on a warm-hot day with most types of food. This one also makes a decent chelada.

Final thoughts - at $10 or more for a 12 pack and less than 5% ABV which is low but definitely makes for good BBQ drinking
