24oz can poured into a Pint glass.
Appearance is hazy orangish amber with two fingers of off-white head. Retention is average leaving a thin collar.
Smell is slightly below medium in strength. It smells like artificially flavored fruit punch.
Taste is medium in strength. It tastes like artificially flavored fruit punch, a bit of salt, a little lime and a very light chile taste that's hotter than mild salsa but no where near medium salsa. I like chile mango flavored stuff but this doesn't taste like mango and it's difficult to drink at first.
Feel is slightly above medium in thickness. Carbonation is high. Astringency is very low.
Overall, it's disgusting.

(24 oz can, BB JAN 2023; purchased cold single... poured into my Belhaven pub pint)

L: crazy hazy, orange amber liquid; fleeting, fizzy foam... not much else to speak of

S: more of an orange soda and apricot aroma rather than mango; hint of red chile definitely apparent... great intensity, if loose, lousy expression... smells more like a Latin-aisle boxed fruit nectar than beer with flavorings

T: spicy chile jumps out a little more on the palate but, yeah, what is up with this not-mango, ambiguously tropical (passionfruit?!) fruit component?... aftertaste is more like orange drink and Tajin... the featured flavors do eventually fall into a good balance and contrast upon the backdrop of malt beverage flavor... semi-sweet, the framing of which tastes of energy drink

F: light-medium bodied with a delicate oily viscosity that with the alcohol leaves some legs stretching back down the palate precipice... everlasting soft sizzle with each sip, which definitely saves this from immediate drain pour...

O: the latest installment in my milestone-100 series; probably just gonna pull from the Modelo catalog for the foreseeable future... this wasn't terrible, wasn't amazing; it was just surprisingly good enough... didn't get close to (wanting to) finish this, but you know... (1900)

24 ounce can, best by end AUG 2022 stamped on the bottom. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a somewhat hazy dark golden/orange color with about an inch off-white head. Head didn't stick around for very long, and there isn't much lacing either. Aroma is sweet and fruity, the brew smells mostly like mango with a bit of oranges too. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of a bit of chili spice. Heat is mild and I wish there was more of a spicy kick. I think the mango dominates in both the taste and aroma. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's a bit coating and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Would be pretty good on a hot day. I liked this brew, recommend it more to people who like mango. Wouldn't mind trying this again in the future!

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation with some faint hues of amber. It poured with a minuscule ring of white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of mango are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and starts off with lots of flavors of mango and finishes with notes of chili.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer starts off seeming like it is going to be a fruit bomb but the chili lends some contrasting spice and helps to keep the mangos in check.

24 FL. OZ. can
Served in a pint glass

This beverage pours a murky orange hue. It is topped with a fleeting head that leaves no lacing.

It smells super sweet and of mango.

It is sweet and tastes like mango upfront. The chiles come in the middle and carry into the finish.

Thin bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

Better than I thought it would be. It would probably be refreshing in the summer.

24oz can stamped BB FEB 2022 poured into a shaker pint at fridge temp 3.5% ABV. The beer pours cloudy peach orange in color with nearly white head that dissipates in a flash. No head, no lacing. The aroma is pungent, sweet mango with no real sign of heat. The taste is sweet mango up front, cloying and sugary with a backend mild pepper heat and negligible bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium plus bodied with above average carbonation and a somewhat dry finish. Overall, not really beer. Overly sweet with no malt or hops to my senses. I needed a pepper beer tick and this one is not punishingly hot.

Smells like dried mangoes
Light-medium mouthfeel
Light-medium carbonation
Taste of mangoes, li hing mui, salt, light heat in the throat
Overall ok once I got to identify the tastes. Initial sip I did not like as it wasn't what I thought it would be. After a while it tastes like a li hing nui mango margarita that got watered down. Factor in the low abv and it makes it a nice cheap poolside drink.

I enjoy the brand overall and this offering was a nice example of the Chelada style, the addition of Mango and Chile in this one really released some contrasting flavors! Poured from a 24oz can into a pint glass showed interesting almost “Sunrise” colors, the fluffy white head faded fast which was disappointing. The aroma held mango first and foremost but the taste was awesome, salty with the sweet and tangy Mango bursting through. The mouthfeel was light and very drinkable with a certain crushable side during hot weather, some Chile notes can out as I was sipping near the end...not a whole lot of heat but the salty and sweet tangy essence made for a pleasurable brew that I would pick up again!

Look - Drank from the can, why would you pour a gas station beer?
Smell - Intense mango scent with Modelo undertones - Highly pleasing, only somewhat artificial.
Taste - Modelo Especial cut with mango juice and lots of salt.
Feel - Solid carbonation as there should be. Nice stickiness that, combined with the mango and low ABV, prevents this from tasting like pisswater or gutrot.

Hardly the worst in class!

Grupo Modelo S.A. de C.V. "Modelo Chelada Mango Y Chile"
24 fl. oz. can, "BB FEB 2021" and sampled on 05 DEC 2020
$2.79 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: I've had two beers today and one was a malt liquor. The fact that the malt liquor was better than this says a lot in my mind. It has an intense sugary mango aroma that comes off as candyish, or extract-like. It's good, but it's not authentic. It's like all of those cherry flavored products on the market, people think they're "cherry" but there's no cherry that tastes like that other than a Maraschino cherry, and even then... but let's move on. The flavor follows with the sweet mango being the dominant note. I'm not really finding a lot of malt, and certainly no "beer" flavor, and I wonder if you gave this to someone to taste blind they wouldn't think it was a alternative or grain-neutral-spirit based product. So what else is there? Well there's the chili but I don't really get it in the flavor. There's something going on but I can't detect it as a peppery flavor, and to be honest I don't even get the heat while it's in my mouth because the sugars override it. I do get some spice on my lips afterwards though. I guess that's nice... I'm not even sure; if you didn't get the pepper taste is it worth having the pepper heat? There's some kind of disconnect with that going on in my mind. So what I ultimately have is a beer that's so heavily spiked with mango flavoring that it no longer tastes like beer. Hmmmm...??? And then there's the chile to deal with, but that's almost non-existent as well. I guess it helps to balance the sweetness, but it's just the ghost of a real chili. I'm not the kind of person who's closed to products like this, in fact I welcome them, but I think this one is a little bit of a fumble. It's got the components that could make it work, but in the end they just don't come together in the right way. Unless you're a super fan of mango flavoring I'd pass this one by, and I'll also suggest that you just grab some mango juice and vodka instead.

This beer pours out nuclear orange and smells like a mango bomb. I'm surprised there's even any beer in it. Super strong mango flavor with just enough mango to keep things interesting. It's not the most complex or serious, but it's insanely drinkable. Now I understand why people buy this stuff by the case at the liquor store where I work.

Appearance: Clear tangerine orange in color, with a small white head, which utterly collapses in seconds, leaving no remnant, whatsoever. To be sure, there is no lacing whatsoever. An occasional fat bubble drifts lazily to the surface.

Aroma: The aroma of mango and mango rind is very pronounced and very authentic, just like that of freshly sliced mango. The chili notes are very subtle, though still present. There is a very modest herbal hop presence.

Taste: Opens with a wave of fresh mango, quite tangy and pronounced. The chili seems very subtle, compared to the mango. Some bready, white bread-like malt can be noted, although it is very understated. Later in the taste, the chili seems to enhance the mango flavor, causing to utterly dominate the taste. The chili does produce a very mild warming sensation on the palate. Finishes with a lingering note of mango and some faint herbal hops.

Mouth feel: Smooth and fairly full, with very low carbonation, quite pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: A very pleasant, drinkable example, would be quite a treat on a hot summer afternoon.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twenty-four ounce aluminum can, served in a Duvel tulip.

24oz can poured into Duvel tulip. BB DEC 2020 printed on bottom of can. So this still has another 4-5 months in it.

Appearance - Even a vigorous pour only provides a very small head that very rapidly dissipates. Body is clear on the top but under the surface it's dark orange and hazy to the point of being opaque. No silhouettes can be made out even with a backlight. Lots of small floating particulates. 4.5

Smell - Mango first and foremost with the chile underneath. Slightly musky, overripe fruit aroma. 4.5

Taste - Delicious. Every aspect is perfectly balanced. No off flavors of any kind. 5

Mouthfeel - Effervescent, crisp, and clean. Medium bodied but with the refreshing quality of a crisp light beer. 5

Overall - This is so ridiculously drinkable. But it can go flat quickly so it's best to drink it straight from the can, like most cheladas. 5

While I'm sure my rating will forever stand out as the highest rDev of all time in the history of ever, I really don't give a flying bat's gizzard.

Bottom line is I was hot, tired, covered with mud, dust, dirt and mosquito bites, having worked by the lights of my truck for the last three hours.

And come 1130pm, this is what was available for beer.

And you know what? It was good.

The low ABV was perfect for the situation. My thirst was quenched. My pallet was flavored. I had beer. And seriously, I enjoyed every sip.

So all you sour, stout and IPA snobs, please eat my shorts.

Because every single moment of your beer existence can't be spent going over the top of your last quintiple IPA, super-duper mega-sour, or Russian imperial stout so thick it resembles Rasputin's most memorable bowel movement.

Nope. Sometimes regular Joe goes right along with having to choose from modelo, shiner or corona.

And you know what? I'm ok with that. And this beer was good.

Pours an orange looking color with a strange off colored white head that dissapears quickly.

Smells like a mango soda.

Taste is mango forward with the chili making a late appearance to the dance. Bad news, I like the flavor but I seriously cannot find the beer taste!

Mouth feel is easy drinking with just a bit of sweet left behind on the finish.

I love this! Just not for what it is. It says it is a beer with mango and chili. It is mango and chili, yet where is the beer. That said I love the easy drinking mango chili (background) beverage. If they brought forth the beer portion to a more prevalent point I am all in! Cheers to all and stay safe!

24 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 1/12/2020. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden/orange/amber color with a small foamy off white head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing eventually. No glass lacing, and a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy mangoes and fruit skin; with lighter notes of chile peppers/seeds, cracker, white bread, and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Very nice aromas with big mangoes and light-moderate chiles/pale malt/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy mangoes and fruit skin; with lighter notes of chile peppers/seeds, cracker, white bread, and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate mango tang/tartness, and light pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy mangoes and fruit skin; with lighter notes of chile peppers/seeds, cracker, white bread, and herbal/grassy hop earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of big mangoes and light-moderate chiles/pale malt/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance; and no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tart/tangy notes and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and light slick/sticky/acidic mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming 3.5%, with mild increasing chile pepper heat through the glass. Overall this is a very nice fruited chile beer. All around nice robustness and balance of big mangoes and light-moderate chiles/pale malt/earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean and refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Same sort of idea as the Limon Y Sal version. Great balance of juicy/vibrant fruit, chile peppers, and clean adjunct lager flavors; with nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. I have since learned that Chelada doesn't always mean tomato, but rather fruit and/or spice. Hits all marks well. Not overwhelming on any aspect. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Smells of Mango. Fruity scent and the nose tickle of chili peppers. Has that Peaches and Pine scent of mango.

Mouthfeel is about average.
