As far as the taste goes it has a rough bitter finish that doesn't belong. Almost like they added small amounts of Jose Quervo to it. The beer is tolerable though. It is definitely better than Corona or Sol. This beer might be good with fajitas, rice, and beans or maybe even a hamburger.

Appearance: Pours a clear, bronze-toned body with a scant, thinning, white head.
Smell: OK, there is a nose smelling mainly of tequila and wood. Beyond that, light subtleties akin to their Especial.
Taste: An initial, medium degree of sweetness, like a faint dusting of powdered sugar along with some cereal graininess. Like the nose, there's the one-two flavor of agave and wood. Remains a bit sweet and cereal-like on the finish. Not grating in nature if a bit simplistic.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation, a bit soda-like.
Overall: "This tequila lager stretches the boundaries of what a Mexican beer can be." Whoa there, señor, let's not get carried away. A splash of tequila and a lime in just about any Mexican lager would do the trick.

I really never heard of this beer before but I saw it at my local liquor store in Denver Colorado and wanted to give it a try it's a little bit stronger than your average Modelo beer I say it's a pretty darn good beer it's a little bit sweeter than your Modelo Especial. Hints of Oak Agave and citrus I highly recommend it with lime

This was fun to try from them, its still just Modelo but the tequila barrel added some new flavor, would like to have this at a Mexican restaurant, I'd like to also try the Bourbon reserva as well if that's still a thing. These brands are fun at restaurants.
