Cloudy yellowish orange color with no head formation.

Smells of weak orange soda. Italian orange soda, doesn't have that artificial punch of regular orange soda.

Starts out salty orange soda with a mild Chile warmth. Someone said it tastes like Tang, I can agree that a little. It is its' own thing. I like it it is different and tastes good. Heat is closer to black pepper than jalapeno.

Mouthfeel is Modelo.

Overall it is tasty and different. I can see buying this again.

At this point these are pretty much the Mexican spin on the Radler and Shandy. Good summer beer choice.

Someone nailed the taste: it's Tang, the orange drink you made from a powder. That and a sneaky chile heat. Aroma is Tang or maybe Nehi Orange. Not bad, just not very beery. The mouthfeel is also soda pop but the foam dissipates. I think there's a reason that tomato was the original idea for a chelada. From the giant can purchased at the local corner liquor store.

weird stuff, on a tip from my brother in law, who turned me onto the delicious lime one, he said this one wasnt so good but had a cold one opened and i had to dip in, big can after all. this is unrecognizable as a beer really, the orange is totally over the top, orange hard candy, essential oil room scent, and orange tic tacs, not unpleasant but more of a kids drink than an adult one in both aroma and flavor, maybe slightly tired lager character as it warms, but not really part of the identity to me here. the chili part is strange too, theres not really any flavor of pepper to this, nor is there much pepper aroma, maybe light generic spices, but there is some definite heat on the swallow, warm on the tongue and in the throat going down. conventional wisdom would suggest some acidity from the orange and some sweetness in this version of it would cut some heat, but it seems to only exacerbate it, make it hang on longer and permeate deeper. im not saying this is hot, but who really wants to drink a whole can of it? some light brine in it too, salinity, melted plastic, long aftertaste. its thick, too sweet to be refreshing, too sweet for drinkability, and too dense feeling overall for its low abv, weird combination there. the flavors arent bad but i need a bit more from the beer itself, the balance the lime one has is absent here, and it seems especially cheap and artificial, bad at room temperature. i guess i respect the effort, they have turned this chelada series into something fun and probably provide a little more innovation than a lot of macro brands, but i wont be coming back to this one...

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear orange color with a fizzy head of white foam. The head fades over about a one minute time frame, leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is very sweet, with tons of orange “tang”/”Tampico” sweetness. There is a very light grain and chili in there as well.
Taste – The taste starts with a somewhat malty and very sweet tang like flavor. At the same time there is some lighter chili pepper upfront which gets stronger as the taste advances. Some bready and doughly like tastes work their way in as well, and with an increase in the somewhat off orange fruit juice flavor and the increase in the chili, one is left with a sweet and somewhat off-putting taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – For only 3.5 %, the feel is quite thick with a carbonation level that is average to slightly higher. While the carbonation is appropriate for the style, the body should have been much thinner in order to accommodate the fruit and chili better.
Overall – Nope. Do not do this brew. Really nothing in it melds well.

24oz can poured into Teku glass. Picked up from liquor store for about $3. No discernible date on can.

Appearance - Looks like orange soda if you thinned it out very slightly, and added some fine orange pulp. And zero carbonation bubbles rising up. The small head evaporates about as quickly or even more quickly than soda. 3

Smell - Smells 100% exactly like orange soda. You would absolutely NOT be able to tell them apart in a blind smell test. Which is weird but also... intriguing. I'm starting to think this might actually just be orange soda with alcohol in it. 4

Taste - Finally a slight deviation from orange soda. It's like orange soda but with a touch of red chili powder in it. As dumb as that sounds, it's actually not too bad... I guess. 3

Mouthfeel - About the same mouthfeel as orange soda, but slightly less effervescent, slightly more creamy, and with a bit of spiciness. 3

Overall - Lets be real here. You can just make this at home with orange soda, vodka, and red chili powder. I dare you to be able to tell it apart. Very goofy on paper and in practice, yet somehow actually enjoyable. Kind of. By far the worst chelada I've ever had, and I say that as a huge fan of the style. But still drinkable. At least this once. 3

Modelo Naranja Picosa has a thick, fizzing-away, off-white head and a translucent orange appearance, with white and orange chunks, and no lacing. The aroma is a complex mix of yeasty bread crust, orange, and chili skins. The flavor is similar and more tart than sweet. Modelo Naranja Picoas has a low-medium body and a mostly-dry finish.

Rolled the can several times prior to the pour. Looks kind of hazy with an orange color to the look of it. Thin white head disappeared as I was typing this.

Smell is strong orange. Reminds me of some kind of orange soda from my childhood. Wait, maybe like Tang? Well definitely orange smell on the nose.

Taste is up front orange. A faint hint of spice way in the background. Something spicy coating the tongue. Pretty tasty. Almost, like I say almost, drinks like an orange soda.

Mouth feel is very carbonated. Prickly on the tongue. Once you take a drink it almost causes one to pause and hold it in the mouth for a second. The finish is a pop rocks like feel finishing with a popping crispness.

Overall interesting. Would I call it a Michelada? Hell I guess so. People stick so many fruits in these things I guess it could be a Michelada. I am slightly confused because I cannot taste the beer at all. The orange is so very overpowering it just about drowns out all other elements of the beverage. Look at my numbers. I do like the mouth feel. It seems to play very well in the mouth and actually feels a bit prickly. Again interesting.
