Notes:
Negra Modelo, better known as "the cream of the beer", is a Munich-type beer with 5.3º of alcohol that offers a balanced flavor and a delicate aroma of dark malt, caramel and hops.
Today it occupies the first place in sales among dark beers in Mexico. This beer is accompanied by a bright deep amber color, which is adorned with abundant, white and compact foam.
Negra Modelo was introduced in Mexico in 1925 as the dark beer called Modelo, to begin its great tradition. In 2014 it changed its image to a more sophisticated bottle but with the same content.
Ingredients - Water, barley malt, non-malted cereals, hops

...muy buena cerveza, cremosa, olor a cereal tostado, color de la espuma achocolatada, fuerte retrogusto con personalidad, elegante, para disfrutar por latarde/noche, pegadora, es elevada de alcohol, muy masculina...

this sounds weird, and, bearing in mind that I'm probably a lot older than most of you, it tastes like what beer tasted/smelled like way back in, like, the '60's, the Schaefer/Rheingold era...it's like malty, not hoppy...obviously, I'm no expert, but it's just a pleasant beer to have when you come home from work

12oz can
Pours over a finger of creamy off-white head into my Boston Lager glass. Retention is wonderful, and after a few minutes nearly all of the head remains. Lacing is very thick. Body is a deep mahogany. Looks fantastic.
Faint roasted malt, a touch of caramel, slightly dry. Whispers of stone fruit? The nose is very faint, but has potential.
Flavor has very faint caramel, maybe just slightly nutty. Not much in the way of roast, finishes clean. An ok taste, lighter than the nose though.
Carbonation is medium. Body is quite light. Bitterness is low but a little peaks through. On the drier side. Mouthfeel is fine.
Drinkability is good.
Overall a nice little Mexican lager, but it could do better with a little more flavor.

Pours out of the bottle a redish brown with minimal head. Smells kind of grainy and plain. Tastes crisp, slightly malty and a bit of bitterness. Not bad at all

A decent Vienna style dark lager. I can get it pretty fresh, so that is a plus.

12 ounce can - from GoMart down the road at Akumal - purchased from a walk in cooler so stored well.
Pours a very nice copper dark amber with a finger of slightly tawny head.
Aroma is malt forward - grainy malt, caramel, a touch of a roasty nutty note.
Taste follows - sweet and grainy malt, bready with a caramel flavour and limited bitterness.
Smooth medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation - sweet bready finish. Quite enjoyable.

Had this beer for the very first time this past Saturday while watching the UFC Fights. Good thirst quencher while having Buffalo wings, chips and salsa, etc. I would definitely be interested in drinking this beer again.

Very good beer. Best of Modelo and much better than Corona or Pacifica. Highly recommend for a non IPA drinker.
