Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there is no "best by" date that I can find.

APPEARANCE: pours a clear, dark amber color with less than one-finger tan head that did not stick around long, lighter carbonation, there is some lacing on the glass.

SMELL: burnt toast and molasses.

TASTE: initially sweet molasses and then a deep, roasted flavor, there are some faint, metallic tasting hops in there too.

PALATE: medium body and lighter carbonation.

OVERALL: this is one of the better beers I have had from Mexico, I'm not a huge fan of roasted malt but this was good, I would not seek it out but if you like the style would be worth a try.

Pours a clear brown color with a small top off white head. Aroma is off roasted malts, bread and some caramel. The flavour is off roasted malts with some sweet notes and some spices in the middle. The finish have some decent hop bitterness with roasted malts in the back. Mouthfeel is
Smooth and creamy but a little watery. Medium body with a medium carbonation. Is a decent drinkable beer with a decent flavour. Compared to a lot off other Mexican beer this surprised me.

This is a German Beer with a Mexican twist.. Its darker then most beers here in the USA. I have been looking for a beer that will not leave a bad after taste.. and this is one beer that does NOT do that.. Taste is full but light, great with a meal. I enjoy this beer more then other imports.. Thank you Modelo.. buying it by the case now..

12 oz bottle into shaker pint

Look - Mahogany brown, crystal clear, with not but a wispy cap of off-white head lingering.

Smell - Crisp, clean lagery goodness, vague and light fruitiness with a bit of biscuit sweetness.

Taste - Simple but good - light touch of dark candied fruit, mildly toasty bread, and an unexpected hint of hops believe it or not - a bit peppery and leafy but mostly just adding a bit-o bitterness on the finish to balance.

Feel - Smooooth going down, carbonation on the gentle side, medium body, medium-light and crisp feel.

Overall - Not too freakin' shabby for a macro. It isn't going to punch you in the mouth with flavor, but what's there is pleasant enough. Would go great with most food and when you just want a decent, simple beer to not think too much about.

Clear tiger eye brown with a thin, soft tan foam.

This smells like an Oktoberfest, with toasted grain, grass, herbs, hay and corn.

Taste is toasty malt, pumpernickel bread, almond and bitter grass with hints of pearl onion and banana. There's a touch of soft peppery spice in the swallow.

Body feels full at first yet lightens up, with a medium froth and a tangy, semi-dry finish.

A pleasant surprise.

I was served a glass of Negra Modelo draft with a meal in a restaurant. I'd had it before, but not frequently and not recently. The beer is dark, a coffee color. The glass I was served had almost no head. It was quite full, so I imagine that the bartender drew the beer carefully to avoid a head. At first sniff, it was very citrusy, but then I realized that there was a slice of lime under my nose. Without the lime, the aroma is unremarkable. Same for the mouthfeel. The flavor was quite mild, also unremarkable.
