In Mexico this beer is incredibly refreshing and delicious. My favorite down here so far. Light on alcohol too, good day beer.

Thanks to Peg and Dave for this one. 325ml "handgrenade" bottle poured into 14oz teku. Poured a brightly clean and light gold color with a thin cap of white head that low retention and no lacing.
The aroma was the expected, adjunct "beer" scent of the style. Slightly sweet and a touch skunky. Similar, but better, on the tongue, no skunk across the palate.
The body was light , but had a semi-sweet finish. Drinkability was about what you would expect, and it would probably be better in a small, dusty cantina somewhere. Overall, a fairly typical example of the style. Why not try it if you see it?

First off, it’s a malt beer. Most reviews I’ve noticed, have complained about a malt tast, look or smell. It’s a malt beer, if you don’t like malts you won’t like this.
This beer I have only found in Mexico, on my first visit to Mexico I ventured to Quintana Roo. Stayed in Tulum, Bacalar and orange walk Beliez. I came across this beer in Tulum. In America I have access to Victoria, Pacifico, Corona, Modelo, Tecate and several others. I made it a point to consume beers I haven’t had or have access to.
Quite frankly, As far as beers from Mexico go, if you only drink Modelo and Corona, than this beer isn’t for you. This beer is full of flavor, sadly that is overwhelming to many novices. This is shown by those who compare a Malt to Corona. If you compare this to Corona, you need to stop writing reviews. Please.
It’s a decent beer that has a rich flavor. If you are ever “south of the border” I would recommend trying this and tasting it for your self. I would say, visit Tulum, grab a 6 pack grab a room over at Hostel crucero where they have free bike rental and head to Restaurante El Habanero Ruins for some great food and you can enjoy your beer.

Light golden color with a thin head with short retention.
Aroma with notes of corn adjunct and some sulfur and cardboard.
Flavor with notes of malt and adjunct sweetness and faint floral hops. No aftertaste.
Watery body with good carbonation.
Adjunct Lager to be forgotten.

Serving Type: 330 mL Bottle (Very unique Stubby, round bottle)
A- Pours a very pale golden colour with little head and little to no retention. Tons of large CO2 bubbles present (similar to soda).
S- Sweet and grainy. Slight corn aroma.
T- Identical to the aroma with an addition of grassy hops. Not a bad taste, although not particularly interesting.
M- High carbonation and light body. Reminds me of soda.
O- I've read that this beer is just repackaged Corona Extra (which I certainly could believe), although I find that this beer tastes substantially better, probably thanks to the brown glass bottle.

Once again, another listing for Corona Extra that is simply a packaging difference. This is the same exact beer that's put into the standard Corona Extra packaging, and the Corona Familiar bottle.

Barrilito is fun to take to the beach, small barrell-looking bottles are fun too. I like this beer but i don´t love it. This is the same beer as the Corona Extra, with the amber bottle is better protected.

I truly believe there are different beers for different occasions. So when I rate Barrilito overall as a 3.00, I do so visualizing a sunny day, a sandy beach, warm blue water and a bucket of ice filled with bottles of Barrilito.
Cool, crisp, and refreshing, Barrilito is light with a carbonated and clean finish that won't weigh or slow you down. You can swim, play volleyball and toss down a few of these with absolutely no consequences. This is a beer for an active lifestyle.
Wanna keep things light and easy? This is your beer. Want depth, flavor and "feeling", there are more substantial Lagers to choose from.

Curiously shaped bottle poured into a mug in Cabo San Lucas. A pale straw color with a surprisingly robust creamy white head of three fingers height. Low ABV and flavor make me think this is really a light lager but I suppose most beers in Mexico fit that description anyhow. In an ocean of grainy off-notes, cooked corn flavors and manic carbonation, this one comes off as classy, clean, and well-crafted if still fundamenally lacking in the character department. There's a slight buttered popcorn flavor and a whiff of grassy hops, no skunky reek or strong DMS, maybe this one is TOO clean. Mellow sweetness persists into the finish. Typically thin and watery. In any event, nothing offensive per se and refreshing under the right circumstances.

This light tan beer produced very little head and it carried a light hoppiness on the nose. It was actually quite refreshing that finished fairly clean. Loved the water balloon shaped bottle that fit perfectly in your hand. I did pour it in a glass when I did a tasting on the beach but also drank on back straight out of the bottle. Just had to.

Barrilito has a thick, white head, a clear, bubbly (etched glass), straw appearance, with visible white particles roiling about, and some decent lacing strips left behind. The aroma is of sweet, lightly-roasted malt, and the flavor is the same, with some very low level hop note at the end. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Barrilito finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and highly drinkable. This comes across more like a light beer than a regular beer. No bad notes, though.

A- Clear golden yellow with a quickly dissipating head.
S- Sweet and slighty grainy.
T-Sweet And refreshing.
M- Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
O- Not a bad beer, very refreshing.
This beer is actually better than I was expecting. It's nothing special, but better than most adjunct beers.
