Summer Honey AleSummer Honey Ale
Notes: When the days get longer and the air gets warmer, we get outside quite a bit. And we build a big thirst. Summer Honey helps us shake off the winter and slakes our thirst for a refreshing brew. Summer Honey is a full-flavored summer seasonal ale. Brewed with a unique, balanced blend of spices, Northwest Hops, and Montana honey. Summer Honey is brewed during the early days of spring and released around the first of May each year. Light colored, light bodied, and very drinkable, Summer Honey sacrifices nothing to create a flavorful beer that can be enjoyed during the height of the Summer.

its bogus that this is rated so poorly here, although i have never had it in a bottle, it was fantastic from the can, rich full flavored for a blonde ale, nice honey flavor, real authentic but not sweet at all, super drinkable but with a bit of body for what it is, well carbonated, fluffy feeling, and overall one of the better seasonal beers i have had from these guys. the honey is great, very little residual sugar but a ton of character from it, floral and waxy and nice. maybe some wheat in here, where else would all this body come from in such an otherwise light brew? i could drink fifteen of these, but it also worked well as a marinade for some chicken with a little green onion, soy, black pepper, and lemon juice. summery and nice. maybe the bottles let too much light in or something, or those drinking it didnt have it fresh or whatever, but from the can, fresh and ice cold, this was a great summer beer, i think more interesting and better made for the real beer drinkers than is common in summer seasonals from larger craft breweries. nicely done in my opinion.

A lighht golden brew with white head. Aromas of honey and light grassy hops and bready yeast but nothing special. It has a light refreshing body holding bready malt and yeast flavors with a good malt backbone. It finishes with a toasted malt and lightly honey flavors, a nice summer beer.

Bought in the 12 oz brown bottle..nice label with a bear taking some honey froma tree trunk.
Beer is a nice golden colour''like honey in fact..nice small sized frothy pure white head.
This is a real nice smelling beer..very malty and with honey and some spiciness.
Taste is not quite as good as the aroma..but it has all the above mentioned and a small hop bite at the end
Veru luxurious mouthfeel to the beer..smooth and creamy..nice.
Quite a drinkable honey beer.

12 oz brown bottle included in the sampler pack. Poured into a pint glass, the beer is a bright gold with a fairly dense white head.

The aroma is of grains, perfumey hops and a bit of honey.

The taste is slightly grainy with some sweetness that may be from the honey that lurks in the background. The hops add a bit of balance, but this one falls on the sweet but not cloying side of the taste spectrum. I like the bit of sourness that emerges late in the aftertaste.

The mouth is decent with unlooked for heft. I suppose this is an easy enough drinker and would be a nice cross-over beer

Light honey yellow in color with a small pencil width high head of even leveled, off-white, super tight, creamy foam. The head faded a little fast and has spotty lace. The aroma is very nice, very sugary with a touch of honey thats super fresh. Nice! Taste echoes the smell with a nice light sugary taste with sweet honey and a bit of hops showing up with a very slight lemon note that together keeps this nicely balanced and super smooth. Yum! Feel is a lighter to medium body, very clean, soft, and solidly smooth. This is some remarkable stuff, very unique, yummy, and very drinkable in my book. I think I have a new summer brew to add to my list, this summer honey of a brew by Big Sky is a must try.

Clear golden color with a modest white head that does manage just a bit of lacing.

The aroma is bread dough, hints of honey and light floral hops.

The taste is dry bready malt, honey, hints of pepper and cinnamon, with a dry lightly hopped lingering aftertaste, crisp and refreshing, a very nice hot weather cooler.

Light/medium body, very drinkable.

The beer pours a pale gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a pale and bisquit malt scent with some honey notes and a musty breadlike finish. The taste is excellent. It has a very smooth pale and bisquit malt flavor that is slightly sweet and very drinkable. It goes down easy and finishes spicey and breadlike. The mouthfeel is good. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a damn fine summer seasonal. It has real good flavor and aroma; a good drinker.

The bartender at The Viking in Spokane gave me a bottle of this on the house. The label features a bear doing something to a tree that's just plain wrong.

Poured a slightly dark yellow color, with a moderate white head. A very slight amount of lace.

Smell was of a honeyish sweetness, coupled with a more submissive spicy bitterness.

The first thing to greet the tastebuds is a honey flavored sweetness that, while not quite something I'd call mild, nevertheless is not over the top. This is quickly followed by a very mild peppery hop bitterness. Not a bad tasting beer, but it didn't send my tastebuds into ecstacy either.

This is a medium bodied beer. Nothing to complain about here. Nothing earthshattering either.

This is a perfectly drinkable beer, though it's nothing fantastic. I'm just not a fan of honey beers. It was quite good at the price I got it at, but I'm not sure I'd seek it out and pay actual money for it.

Pours a vibrant, sparkling, golden yellow, with a coppery sheen. Tight-packed, persistent guaze-white head. Nice. Soft, tangy malt aromas underscore definite honey and some peppery spices--maybe coriander. Interesting and good. Peppery spices dot biscuity malt flavors up front. Light, honeyish sweetness gives way to an herbal, peppery bitterness. Soft mouthfeel on a medium body. I could swear there's some wheat in here. Nice summer ale that thankfully is not just another American pale wheat ale.

This beer had a musty earthiness I found rather unpleasant, and nothing else to recommend it. I can't recommend it - I found it rather lousy.

This beer appeared to have an oily sheen; it was slightly hazy, an unflattering shade of yellow, and had a little head. The appearance didn't give me a lot of reason to have faith that I would enjoy this beer.

The aroma didn't provide any additional reason not to be pessimistic. There was the aroma of some spice and maltiness, but also a lot of earthiness that I found off-putting and unpleasant.

The watery mouthfeel hit me before the flavor. Flavor was a distinct compost-y flavor.

Not good...not recommended...most went down the drain.

12 oz into a pint

A - Pours an extremely clear, light golden color. Lots of bubbling is present from the strong carbonation. Head formation is extremely light.

S - Smells of a sweet pilsner malt - only the lightest hint of honey. No hops to speak of.

T - Starts with the malt pilsner sweetness, which only briefly adds some bitterness. No hopping on the taste. On the aftertaste the honey starts to show just a bit. Sits on the tongue with a bit of a bitter bite.

M - Light in body - light in carbonation, which is against its appearance. Light sugar cling on the tongue.

D - Easily drinkable. ABV is manageable. Not filling.

Not really an APA to me, but an okay offering nonetheless.

12 oz bottle. Freshness code stamped on neck.

Clear golden with a soapy white head and patchy lace.

Aroma is honey and cereal.

Flavor is honey, grain, and lemon.

finish is short and slightly sweet.

Today was a hot one, over 90, and yes this was refreshing, but there are many other summer beers that are better.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a standard pint glass. Honey gold body. Nice, feathery off-white head. Thin lacing. Smell: gritty graininess, thin malt sweetness, slight hop earthiness -- nice. Taste: quick pinch of hop bitterness upfront, followed by a honey-like sweetness, hint of vanilla; dry finish with a nice toasty graininess. Mouthfeel: slick and clean, middling carbonation. Good summer brew.
