Poured a cloudy, light orange body with two finger head and even little bits of yeast are floating around. Floral aroma with touches of sour funkiness and graininess. Light bodied beer that balances a fluffy and sweet yeast profile, a minor acidic sharpness that borders on barnyard funk at times and there is a bit of tropical fruit sweetness as well. Easy drinking sipping beer that finishes spicy and dry.

A canonical example of the style. Copper hue, slight haze, foamy head that subsides to a ring. Smell of toasted whole grain bread, almost buttery bread (no - not diacetyl, just that sweet savoriness that overlays bread when it's toasted and buttered), a slight clove and fruity (apple / grape / pear) coming from esters. A slim alcohol bite evident at the end; not hot, but inviting ... like in warm spiced wines. Maybe a bit of citrus. Feel is medium bodied, compulsively drinkable. Makes me crave a cheese and charcuterie plate!

I asked the good folks at La Cave a Bulles in Paris for some good biere de garde recommendations and this was one of a few they pulled for me. So pleased to see that it was the top rated French beer here on BA. Pours a straw color with fine white lace that clings to the glass. Nose is some light funk, lemon rind, and yeast. Taste is very subtle...bright, light fruit notes, lemon, and lemongrass with no sign of 7% alcohol at all. A lovely refreshing sip on a spring or summer day.

Easy to drink, but nothing very interesting here.

Picked this up at La Capsule Cave à Bière in Nancy, France. Cloudy straw-orange pour with a quickly fading two finger foamy pure white head with minimal lacing and quite a few floaties. The nose is crisp and citrusy with nice floral notes along with hints of lemon zest, grass, grain, white pepper, and yeast. The taste is bright, herbal, and fruity with huge citrus notes along with hints of honey, lemongrass, straw, pear, white pepper, apple, and very subtle vanilla. The mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing with medium carbonation, subtle sweetness, and a nice dry finish. Overall, this is a flavorful and refreshing beer that was a perfect choice after mowing the lawn. Well done!

Look: Pours clear with a very pale straw color.
Nose: Bright and floral with earthy/herbal overtones. Noticeable yeast presence with esters. Definite spice.
Taste: Very bright--keep coming back to a floral character crossed with an odd fruity note. Apricots?
Feel: Really pleasant mouthfeel--almost silky. Medium bodied. The finish seems a touch sweeter than a classic farmhouse.
Overall: A truly pleasant beer.
